Chiara fixed the room window. There was not much he could do to repair his worn-out hinges. The windows cannot be closed. The only thing he could do was nail a piece of scrap wood to lock the two shutters. Instead, the window could not be opened at all.

Chiara shuffled on the back of her bed. It felt exhausting after doing a lot of homework that day. It was late afternoon and soon it was time for dinner. But he had no taste for eating anything that day. He recalled his conversation with Rein this afternoon. An annoyance was bubbling up in his chest.

The girl did not expect that Rein would bring up the topic. It's just that he's not ready. He knew that his relationship with Rein was indeed at a very close stage. But there was no element of romance he felt with Rein. Chiara certainly loved Rein as much as the young man loved her too, He knew that. But does he love her? Chiara was not sure.

Chiara's only ambition is to escape the poverty of her family. Rein could promise that. Unfortunately his heart was so heavy to accept. It doesn't feel like it's worth it with Rein. Chiara is no match for him. Moreover, he knew how his parents behaved. He was sold as a guarantor to his poor family because of his father. Chiara wanted to rise from that slump with her own strength. It is not through the instant road that is married to the family of Gillian. Even if he will be with Rein later, Chiara wants to make sure that happens after he is in the same position. Not in a state of shortage.

Another thing that made Chiara angry was the fact that Rein had recently spent her time with another woman. Even in front of his eyes. Although he trusted the young man as much as his confidence in himself, but the future is difficult to guess. Marriage is different from friendship. Chiara realized that today. How jealousy burns him when he finds out that Rein is close to another woman.

Bad thoughts continued to overshadow the girl and made her careless to think about marriage. Rein shouldn't have discussed it so easily. After witnessing for himself how chaotic the Chiara family was, Rein should have been able to be more careful to ask her to get married.

The sound of knocking on the door broke Chiara's daydream. Kale entered to meet his brother who was overwhelmed by turmoil.

“Evening is ready, Kak.” His sister looked beautiful, no matter what the cause.

“Why are you here?” qi Chiara asked without moving her body.

“This is my home too. What's the problem?” sergeant Kale ketus.

Chiara did not answer. Kale seemed to be facing some trouble out there as well to the point that his sister had to have dinner at home.

“So you had another fight with Rein?” Kale guessed right on target.

“Nothing to do with you.”

Kale snorted short. “It's easy to guess your mood. You get angry when you fight with Rein. Why don't you just get married?”

Chiara automatically threw her platoon pillow towards Kale. The young man caught it easily.

“Stop talking about marriage. I'm sick of hearing it,” infuriated Chiara.

“So finally Rein proposed to you?” Kale walked into the room and threw back the brownish-colored flattened pillow. The original color should be pure white.

“Applying is not the right word. He only talked about marriage like taking shopping to flea market.” Unknowingly Chiara let out an outpouring of her heart.

“That's because Rein is already very comfortable with you,” said Kale who then laid his body at the end of the bed.

Chiara felt that Rein's attitude was a little odd. “Why are you suddenly interfering with this problem?”

Kale grumbled softly in response. “You think why I'm home now? Rein asked me to comfort you. Either amusing or persuading. Maybe both. He thinks you might not like that he himself should come straight here,”.

“Exit. This has nothing to do with you,” grumbled Chiara as she kicked her sister to get out of there.

Kale shuffled up in annoyance. “Think carefully. Your pride can't feed us all,” Kale said as he walked out of the room.

“Omong empty,” hiss Chiara full of emotions.

Kale finally left her alone. Kale's words further incited Chiara's anger. Everyone seems to think of it as a security. Dredging the wealth of the Gillian family. Chiara hated that status. Rein also did not mind the fact. Why do people always take it for granted?

In the end Chiara missed dinner. He sleeps faster because he thinks too much. But because of that, Chiara actually woke up at midnight. Her dreams are shitty, about a marriage she doesn't want. So he woke up in a bad mood.

The hunger finally forced Chiara to get out of bed. Maybe his mother left a hard piece of dry bread at the dinner table. Chiara had gotten out of bed when she suddenly heard a knocking sound that made her jump in shock.

The girl sharpened her hearing, worried in case she was just hallucinating hearing a knock. But the voice appeared again. Not from the door of his room, but the window. Chiara turned wary. Fear reached over her body and made the girl hurriedly snatch at anything that could be a weapon. He only found a hammer on the table that he had used to fix the window and had not yet returned it.

“Si ... who?” asked Chiara in a trembling voice.

“It's me. Altane. I just want to make sure that your bedroom window is fixed,” a male voice is heard from behind his window.

Chiara recalled the silver-haired young man who helped her yesterday. Why did the young man have to be outside the second-floor window at midnight?

“Looks like you're okay. Then I left. Sorry to interrupt your time,” Altan said from the outside.

“Tu, wait,” pekik Chiara suddenly. Somehow the girl wanted to let Altan stay there. He knew it might be dangerous. No normal woman would let a foreign youth into her room in the middle of the night and through the window anyway.

But Chiara brushed off that stereotype. He poked the nail and opened the wooden seal that locked the two leaves of his window. While doing so, Chiara realized that it was not a wise action. But there was an unnatural urge within him to meet Altan. I think he's been too tired lately because of the people closest to him. Chiara just wants to meet new people who might be able to keep her entertained. Or threatened. I don't know. Those adrenaline-filled emotions were making him excited at this moment.

“You're coming again?” tanya Chiara was so successful in opening her window.

Altan hangs on the side of the window frame. Her silvery hair fluttered in the night wind. Both of his gray eyes looked shiny due to the reflection of the moonlight. The young man perfectly matched the dark atmosphere of the night. His silhouette looks stunning with an athletic body and strong muscles in his arms. A bow hung on Altan's back, following a bag of arrows with eagle feathers at the end.

“I was standing guard around here and heard footsteps from inside your room. So I forced myself to knock,” Altan said frankly.

Chiara smiled. He did not know why he was happy because someone cared about his safety.

“Come in,” he said as he retreated backwards, allowing Altan to jump in through the window.

Altan according. He swung his body and stepped on the window. “Then, excuse me,” he said while stepping into the room.
