Suffering

Suffering
Chapter 18

The man in white walked out of the room as Kevin stood in front of the glass window, looking at how the nurses would have taken off the equipment to make his father survive.

"Doctor, did Dad already ...." Kevin did not continue his words. His throat seemed to have frozen, unable to make any more sounds.

"sorry. We can't defend it. Your father is dead. I'm so sorry" said the doctor, patting Kevin's shoulder gently.

Kevin walked into the room where his father was being treated. The father will never wake up again. His face looked pale. His hands were cold as ice as Kevin grabbed them, then stroked them slowly.

"Dad, I'm sorry. I can't do what you want. Even now Mom is not okay.

Kevin's confused, Dad. Also ... fear. How's Kevin gonna tell Mom this? How will you react, Dad?

I should what?" Kevin lowered his head, letting the top of the head touch the back of his ice-cold hand.

He lifted his head back. Clear water threads that are still in the corner of the net, reluctant to come out directly next to the back of the hand.

"Don't worry, Dad. Kevin will not remain silent. Kevin will definitely make him suffer, make him accept the consequences" Kevin said, turning around, then walking away.

Guren stood in front of the door with a huffed face. Both eyes look smooth, also still reddened and leave tears on both cheeks.

He put his forehead on the door. His hands that seemed to be clenching several times hit the door.

"Are you going to stay inside, baby? You have to let go of our daughter, Hana," Guren said.

The clenched hand hit the door a few times. But there is no word from the wife.

While Hana was seen curled up on the floor leaning against the bed. His eyes look sloppy. In front of his chest was a picture frame Alicia who was always in his warm embrace.

When the eye again looked at the picture frame in his hand. Clear water flows back out of the corner of the net, dripping the picture frame.

Hana put a picture frame on the bed when her phone suddenly rang. A split second of his forehead seemed wrinkled when an unknown number had just sent a message to invite him to meet.

"This message, about Alicia? Do I have to go there?" hana muttered in her hands that wiped the tears at the corner of the net.

Hana stood up. A thin smile was engraved on her lips when the picture frame Alicia who seemed to smile sweetly on the bed.

"Mom will be gone for a while, Alicia. I won't be long" said Hana, grabbing her coat, and walking out to the door.

Guren raised his head when the door opened. "Where are you going, baby?" ask Guren when Hana already looks neat.

"I'll be gone for a minute. I won't be long." Hana walked away, leaving Guren who seemed to be frowning.

Hana seemed to wander when she arrived at the park that the sender promised. He walked through the park, but there was no one but him there.

"Hello, Madam."

Hana looked at the voice that called out to her. "Are you asking to see me?" ask Hana.

"Right," said the young man figure who was none other than Kevin.

"About that I can't explain it, ma'am. But for sure I'm here to tell you about the cause of your daughter's suicide." Kevin walked up to the whitewashed chair, then threw his butt over there.

"What do you know about all that? Tell me!"

"Did your husband not tell the Madam?" kevin asked with a friendly smile. But behind his friendly smile, a smile appeared on his lips.

"Tell me about what?" Hana was sitting next to Kevin, her eyes looking sad.

"Did your husband never tell you that when he married you, he already had a wife?" Kevin grinned.

Hana flinched, her two eyes appearing to be rounded. He held onto a chest that somehow felt so tight and painful.

"What are you talking about! How is that possible!"

"I thought, he must not have told you. And even when he left his wife, he had a son, too" Kevin explained, crossing his legs.

"And how did Alicia kill herself? It's because he knows about his father's past." Kevin stood up and folded his hands in front of his chest.

"Sorry, Madam. But maybe our meeting was just about talking about this. I just can't let Mr. Guren hide all this on you" Kevin said as he turned around, then walked away.

On the road that looks relaxed while putting both hands in a jacket pocket. He looked back briefly. Hana was still sitting on that whitewashed chair while continuing to hold her chest that felt so tight and heavy to breathe. A smile on his lips.

The doctor had just come out of Kirana's room to look after Seulas a friendly smile was engraved on her lips when Carlos who looked with a huffed look of face stood in front of her.

"Dok, how's my employer doing?" ask Carlos.

"He was conscious. But please do not make him sad or talk about things that will later be able to burden his mind," said the Doctor, then passed away.

Not long ago Kevin also came so relaxed still with both hands in the jacket pocket.

"Young master, Miss Kirana is already conscious! But the doctor asked not to talk about things that would later overload his mind" Carlos said. Kevin was still with a flat face, yet both his eyeballs trembled slightly, holding back the tears from coming out.

"Carlos, can you prepare for Dad's funeral? If I go with you, I'll be suspicious. So let's just you, I'll take care of Mom," Kevin said in a trembling voice.

Carlos jerks. "What Mr. Guren ...." He did not continue his words as Kevin nodded his head with a sad face.

"All right, young master. I am so sorry. I'll have everything ready" Carlos said. Then the middle-aged man inched back, leaving Kevin behind.

Kevin was standing at the door. He let out a long breath before opening the door slowly. A thin smile was engraved on her lips when Kirana was already sitting on the bed with a radiant face.

"Kevin, did Mom faint for too long? I'm sorry, you should have been in the hospital when your father was looking after you, I'm looking after you" Kirana said, stroking Kevin's head gently.

"Kevin's fine, Mom. How's Mom doing? Is Mom okay now?" Kevin grabbed the back of his left hand, stroking it gently.

"Mom's fine, Kevin. Of course I have to be healthy to welcome your father home later."
