Suffering

Suffering
Chapter 3

Kevin sighed, the eyeball that had seemed to be shaking now returned to normal. His mouth seemed to grin looking at the body of the mother who was still hanging on the roof ceiling. The hand wiped the sweat slightly soaked on the cheek, then sat his ass on the floor leaning against the foot of the bed.

Kevin raised his head, now his eyes collide with the eyes of the mother who looks bulging, his lips open wide with saliva that previously continued to appear, but now it has disappeared like swallowed silence.

As the eyeballs stared at the woman hanging from the roof ceiling. Back his eyeballs shook, water droplets came back out of the corner of the net. Kevin again wiped the tears using the back of his hand as he stood up.

"I'm thrilled. But I was also sad when I had lost everything. I don't have anybody else." Kevin stepped back, now he was standing in the doorway.

"Goodbye, Mother. Don'worry. I will definitely take your revenge on Dad. I'll look for him, don't worry.

I feel like I have no purpose in life. But after seeing Mom leave me, I started to think that what you said earlier was true.

I have to do something for Dad. If I manage to find her, then I'll give her a wonderful surprise." Kevin smiled, impressed with a big grin. Then he turned around, stepping out of the room before his hand closed the door.

* * *

Five days had passed so quickly, and now Madya's corpse was still hanging from the roof ceiling. The smell of the carcass started to smell pungent. The figure of the middle-aged woman who lived not far from Madya's house began to smell the carcass. Every now and then the middle-aged woman looked at Madya's house through the window door, silent and silent, no one was there.

"It looks like I should step in. Did Madya Ma'am not smell this carcass," the middle-aged woman grumbled as she stepped out, towards Madya's house.

The middle-aged woman was standing in front of the courtyard of Madya's house. His eyes then caught the figure of a small child who seemed to sit on the porch of the house, looking pensive. The middle-aged woman then stepped forward towards Kevin.

"Son, where's your mother? I smell carrion from a few days ago. Didn't your mother throw away the rat carcass?" asked the middle-aged woman, she seemed to be holding her nose with her right hand.

Kevin came out of his daydream. His head looked up, those eyes seemingly staring blankly at the middle-aged woman before him. The woman slightly stepped back, feeling that the little boy in front of her looked so scary with his seemingly disheveled appearance.

"Are aunts looking for Mom?" kevin asked, his mouth grinning. The middle-aged woman rubbed her nape, feeling cold while nodding her head.

"I-yes. Is he home?"

"He's at home. Aunty has to help Mom."

"helpful? Whatchu mean?" asked the middle-aged woman, her forehead looked wrinkled.

Kevin stood up and walked into the house. The middle-aged woman was about to follow Kevin, but she stopped when she saw that the floor of the terrace occupied by Kevin looked strange, meaning that the child had been sitting there for quite a while.

The middle-aged woman shook her head violently, resuscitating her mind that had already gone a long way. Kevin stopped at the doorway, tilting his head as he said.

"Why is Aunt still there? Come on." The middle-aged woman nodded then followed behind Kevin.

The boy kept his feet up, passing through the kitchen, a dark-looking hallway. Until not long after, Kevin's footsteps stopped in front of the tightly closed door. Back the middle-aged woman held her nose with one hand because of the smell of the carcass that returned to smell.

"What's in that room? Why is the smell of the carcass really stinging?" The middle-aged woman was still holding onto her nose, her stomach felt stirred.

It was anxious for the middle-aged woman to run to the bathroom, taking out all the contents in her stomach. But he was reluctant to do so because it included disrespectful acts in the neighboring house.

"I'll open the door. But after what Bibi saw, Aunty need not be surprised or afraid," said Kevin, his eyes staring blankly at the middle-aged woman in front of him.

The middle-aged woman nodded lightly, although her nape was now starting to feel cold again, bristling. The middle-aged woman shuddered in horror, watching the surroundings. Everything in the room was unkempt.

Kevin approached the door, his hand holding the doorknob. He opened the door slowly, the creaking of the door sounded quite rude, breaking the silence.

'The excitement is starting to feel strange. This house is really strange, ' the inner woman.

The middle-aged woman gulped, impatiently seeing what was really inside the room. But he also shuddered in horror, feeling his fierce crashing nape.

Now the door is wide open. The middle-aged woman stepped slowly entering the tailing room behind Kevin. When she was already standing in the doorway, the middle-aged woman was wide-eyed.

Both of his legs were shaking, feeling weak. It's hard to move that leg, it's hard to open your mouth. Cold sweat began to pour out, soaking his face and neck.

Kevin was silent, his eyes were still empty staring at the corpse of the mother who was still left hanging on the roof ceiling. While the middle-aged woman's mouth was tightly clenched, unable to open her mouth.

Even to move his neck could not, as if it had frozen. Kevin turned his head, then patted the middle-aged woman's back rough, and made her regain consciousness.

"Son, is this really Madya Ma'am?" asked the middle-aged woman, her eyes seemed to tremble.

"Yes. I killed myself five days ago." Kevin looked calm, his face flat almost expressionless.

The middle-aged woman turned back wide, she covered her mouth with both hands. Slowly he stepped back, his hands reaching into his pocket, picking up his phone.

Madya's mother contacted the police, after which she took Kevin away from the house, still leaving Madya's body hanging on the roof ceiling.

"We're here waiting for the police to come. Don't be afraid, Kevin." The middle-aged woman held onto Kevin's hand.

Half an hour later, finally about two police cars came and drove him in front of Kevin's house. One of the policemen came with a no-go line after Ms Madya's body was taken out to be evacuated.

"Can't I stay here?" kevin asked one of the policewomen who was standing not far from him.

The policewoman turned, then crouched down. Both of his hands held onto Kevin's shoulders as he said in a friendly manner.

"can't. Do you have any other family members?" ask the policewoman named Ariana. Kevin shook his head lightly, his eyes staring blankly.

"You're so sorry." Ariana gently stroked Kevin's head, but Kevin's expression still remained the same, cold and flat.

"We'll adopt her." a male voice sounded, Ariana turned to the source of the voice.

The figure of a man who was not too old and also a beautiful woman stood in the front yard of Kevin's house. Their faces look riled up, but still forced their lips to smile kindly.

"Are you the brother of this child?" ask Ariana.

"No, no. But we'll take care of him, we know him."

"alright. If you feel capable and willing, I'll allow." Ariana turned to Kevin, hoping the boy would understand. And Kevin just nodded in agreement.

'I'll be looking for you soon, Dad. Wait for me.'
