Suffering

Suffering
Chapter 21

The white sedan car stopped at the front gate. The figure of the security who was enjoying coffee on the terrace immediately stood up, opening the gate wide. The sedan car drove slowly into a very spacious courtyard with a luxurious house in front of it.

The figure of a middle-aged man came out of the car. He wore a special hat for the driver in the mansion, then opened the back door. Arnold's figure came out of the car carrying the bag behind his back. He took off the sunglasses perched on top of his nose.

"Sir, you're not home yet?" arnold asked Mr. Security who was closing the gate.

"Not yet, young master. Do you need anything?" ask Mr. security friendly.

Arnold flinching. As always, my father may not be coming home today. And that often makes Arnold cluck, lamenting his life without the presence of family. He casually walked into the mansion as two female servants opened the large door with golden ornaments.

"Welcome, young master," said the two maids while bowing politely. Arnold was silent, focused only on walking up each step of the stairs to the room.

Arnold opened the door. He threw a bag everywhere. Then lay his body on the bed with a shackle. His two eyelids began to close, sound asleep.

Arnold opened his eyes wide again when the sound of the car stopped in the yard. He got up quickly and walked to the balcony. A smile on Arnold's lips. The sedan stopped in front of the garage, and Father Arnold's figure came out of the car carrying a black box suitcase he was tenting about as he walked into the house.

Arnold wanted to meet his father, talk to him for a while. He stepped a little faster towards the exit of the room, down the stairs a little quickly, to occasionally make the foot slip.

"Dad's home? Is your job not much today so you can go home early?" ask Arnold. He stood behind the sofa, propping up the sofa with both hands, bending his body forward.

The middle-aged man sat on the sofa, then placed his suitcase on a glass table. Arnold tilted his head staring at the suitcase. What's in that suitcase?

"Arnold," call Dad. Arnold immediately sat down on the sofa, facing his father.

"What's up, Dad?"

"Why that face of yours? Did you just fight at school?" ask the Father. His finger pointed at Arnold's cheek.

"I-yes," Arnold replied lethargic, he lowered his face.

"You won?" ask the father again. Arnold immediately raised his face that looked visibly riled up. He moved his fingers strangely.

"Why are you silent? You won instead against the person you fought with?" ask the father again. Now the look of his face looks fierce, as if he is interrogating his only son.

Jakun Arnold went up and down, several times salivating. What should he answer? What would you say when Arnold says he lost to Kevin? How did the father react when Arnold said his fear when he looked at Kevin?

"Arnold's? You just shut up? Did you win?" Now the father's question is more firm and loud. Makes Arnold gasp.

"At first Arnold won, Dad. But, it turned out that my opponent was stronger, and I lost," Arnold said in a half-slow tone. His face bowed, not daring to look at his father.

Arnold's father frowned with his eyes glaring sharply, as sharp as an eagle. The half-graceful hand that had been propping up his chin was lifted up, hitting the glass table in front of him. He let out a noise from the glass he hit. Arnold flinched and immediately raised his face.

"How can you lose? Did you not train you all this time? How can you lose? What have you done? You've really embarrassed your father!"

Arnold was silent, unmoved. He even lowered his face again, not daring to face the anger of the Father.

"Sorry, Dad. Next time it won't happen again" Arnold said.

"Whatever you'll do later, I won't care anymore. You really embarrassed me.

How can you lose against a snot?"

"He's not Dad's snot!" arnold raised his face. "He's great, very great."

"You praised your own rivals? Who was he to make Gery's son lose?" He folded his hands in front of his chest. His left leg crossed over the right leg.

"Name's Kevin. If not wrong, he comes from a rich family. His father was a director of a famous company called Gravil. Her mother was named Kirana.

But for sure, he was smart in martial arts. And in fact, one of the naughty and stubborn students at school managed to make him scared and soft" explained Arnold. Both of his hands were tightly clenched.

It was quite painful to tell the greatness of his own rival. Especially if it would amaze his father with Kevin.

Gery was listening to Arnold's explanation in every detail. As Arnold began to fall silent again, Gery slapped the top of Arnold's head. Making the young man choked, but also happy.

"You're smart, Arnold. Thanks to you, I found out who I'm looking for."

"What do you mean?" Arnold frowned. I don't understand what Dad meant.

Kevin walks over defiantly against the bag behind his back towards the room the mother is being treated for. He took a deep breath, then opened the door.

"Welcome, Kevin. Have you gone home yet? How's school?" ask the Mother. The look on his face was radiant.

"Good, Mother. What's wrong with Mom today? It seems like there's something fun today."

"Doctor says. Tomorrow I'm allowed to go home. So, I can't wait to see your father."

Meet with Dad? Kevin jerks. But she tried to stay calm in front of her mother. Tomorrow, Kirana is allowed to go home. So, how did Kevin tell his mother about the father who died?

What if Kirana's situation will drop again when Kevin tells about the death of the father? He started to look agitated, yet could still cover it up.

"That's great news. So, today I have a lot of rest. So that tomorrow when Mom gets home, you look healthy, you're in shape" said Kevin softly.

"Mom really misses being with you and Dad. What about your father? He's healed, right? Is he still in the hospital?"

"I-yes. Dad's healed. But, it looks like Dad won't be home when Mom gets home. Dad has a sudden job that requires him to go out of town."
