Suffering
Chapter 23

"We will try to find out who the person who shot Mr. Carlos from the police station's cctv camera" one of the police officers said. Kevin was silent, he did not look at the opposite sex. His eyes were fixed on the figure of Carlos lying on the bed unconscious with an infusion tube on the back of his hand.

When there was no response from Kevin, the police officer turned around, about to leave. But Kevin who noticed the departure of the police officers immediately turned his head and patted one from behind their backs. Make them look, and put on a friendly face.

"I'll come along. I wonder who the man who dared to harm Carlos was." Highlight Kevin's eyes looked sharp, as sharp as an eagle looking for prey. The police officers nodded slowly, then left.

Kevin began to step foot, about to catch up with the police officers. However, the leg came back to a standstill, just some distance away from the glass window in the back. He turned back, walking closer to the glass window. His palm touched the glass with teary eyes, but his face still looked flat.

"Carlos, don't worry. I'll find out the person who bravely hurt you. I'll finish him off!" Kevin wiped away a few tears that started to gather in the corner of the net, then passed away with both hands in the jacket pocket.

Because the distance between the hospital and the police station is not too far away. It took only fifteen minutes for the police officers and Kevin to arrive at the police station building. Now they stand in front of a computer screen that shows footage on a cctv outside the building.

"This is the cctv footage. We'll wait a few minutes, when you get out of the car" said one of the police. Kevin nodded. He stood behind the wheeled chair that one of the Policemen was sitting on.

A few minutes of cctv recording is already running. There was no sign of the shooting happening. Until the moment the tape was running at the time that Kevin was about to enter the building. Carlos suddenly got out of the car, ran up to Kevin.

It is seen from the footage that Carlos is standing behind Kevin, turning his back on Kevin with his arms outstretched, as if he wants to protect Kevin. And not long ago, there was a figure in all black clothes wearing a mask standing behind the body of the car.

With a gun in his hand, the figure pulled the trigger, hurling a bullet, right into Carlos' stomach. Kevin began to frown with his head tilted to the right side. The face of the figure of all-black clothes was not clearly visible because it was behind the darkness, standing on the right side of the sedan car body.

"Try zooming that part of the figure. I can't see his face clearly" Kevin asked. The police officer nodded and zoomed right into the face of the black figure. However, due to the dark light on where the figure was standing, the camera showed the black figure face to be blurred.

"I'm sorry, the picture remains not clearly visible. He also wears a mask."

"Damn! This cctv camera is useless" Kevin muttered. He clenched his right hand tightly, smacked the body of the chair violently, making the police officer sitting on the chair flinch and instantly turn his head.

"I really wouldn't admit the quality of that cctv camera. But I thank you for helping me" Kevin said. He bowed politely, then passed away, leaving the police station building.

The clattering of footsteps that were quite hard made Kirana who was asleep instantly open her eyes wide. He still slightly yawned, and started to wake up completely.

Kirana looked at the wall clock near the roof ceiling. Time showed twelve o'clock at night, and the sound of footsteps was approaching the door of Kirana's room. The middle-aged woman started to look riled up.

Not long after, the door of the room seemed to be knocked. Cold sweat started to wet Kirana's forehead, her throat started to dry up, she swallowed her saliva a little rough.

Kirana again swallowed. He let out a long sigh, then grabbed the thick blanket that covered his body. Then slowly Kirana got up from the bed, walking slowly while carrying the infusion to the door.

"Who's there?" Kirana asked again. And when she was standing by the door, the knocking of the door no longer made a sound, making Kirana frown.

He brought his hands closer to the infusion hose on the doorknob. Kirana gulped back, then slowly started to turn the doorknob, opening it wide.

"Nobody's here. Then, who knocked on the door?" thought Kirana. He started rubbing his crumpled nape, then turned around and returned to the top of the bed after closing the door.

Kevin squirms his body to the right and left sides as sunlight begins to enter the room through a slightly opened curtain-clad glass door. He blinked his eyes a few times, then scooped up the blanket and got out of bed.

"G ...." Kevin patted his forehead slowly. "I almost forgot. Today, Mom will be home. But ... What should I say when Mom suddenly asks about Carlos? I also can't possibly tell him about Carlos' current situation." Kevin grabbed a towel, then walked towards the bathroom before he went to the hospital.

Arriving at the hospital, Kevin quickly stepped up the stairs to the top floor. But Kevin was upstairs. There were several nurses passing by, making Kevin frown. He stopped one of the nurses.

"What's wrong?" kevin asked the beautiful nurse in front of him. The nurse was silent with her face frozen and eyes wide open as her eyes were glued to Kevin's face. But he immediately regained his senses when Kevin flicked his finger once.

"Ah yes. Emm... There are patients in critical condition," the nurse said a little stammering. His cheeks looked red with sweat that slightly drenched his forehead.

What the patient is, is Mom! Kevin walked away, ignoring the beautiful woman who had been stunned by the good looks of her face.

Kevin immediately stopped his steps in front of the door of the room where the mother was treated with vibrating eyeballs. He walked into the room, breaking through every nurse standing behind the Doctor.

"OK, what's wrong with my mom?" ask Kevin. Now he was standing to the left of the mother lying weakly with a face that looked deathly pale.

"Mistress Kirana's condition is critical again. In fact, before he looked fine and would heal," said the doctor with a huffed face.

"How did that happen!"
