Suffering
Chapter 28

The sound of the knocking of the glass that continued to sound made Arnold jerk up. Waking up with half-closed eyes. He got up from the bed, walked over to the glass balcony door, opened the turaninga.

There were quite a number of small sized pebbles scattered on the balcony floor. Arnold stroked his chin. He stepped forward, approaching the balcony. Support the balcony divider with both hands, slightly sticking his head down.

The figure of a man dressed in all black with a mask covering his face stood behind the gate, making Arnold widen his eyes. He blinked those eyes, and rubbed them a few times. Make sure the figure is really there.

"D-well? What's he doing here night-night?" murmured Arnold slowly.

The black-clothed figure that Arnold knew as Father waved his left hand wrapped in black gloves. Arnold nodded slowly. He turned around, about to meet Father below.

When the door of the room opens. Arnold slightly stuck his head out of the room, making sure no one was there. After feeling safe, he exited the room, closing the door quite slowly. Then walk a little tiptoe down the stairs with eyes that are constantly alert.

Gery stands behind the gate while holding her. Sometimes he hits the ground slowly with one of his legs. Half-run Arnold approached the gate.

"What's up, Dad?" ask Arnold.

"You fool! What are you doing in this house? You haven't done it!" whispered Gery in a half-screaming tone.

"Dad, I don't know. Looks like I can't do this. He's been good to me. I'm ...."

Gery raised his right hand, landing one slightly rough punch at the top of Arnold's head. Making the young man grimace holding back his slightly throbbing head.

"Where is your responsibility! Do what I tell you!" Gery reached into the carrying case behind his back, grabbing a gun.

He put the gun forward. Arnold fluttered with perfectly rounded eyes. With trembling hands he grabbed the gun as Gery looked at him sharply and continued to stick out the gun.

"Dad, what am I supposed to do with this gun?" arnold asked with a slightly trembling tone. His hands were still trembling with the gun, dripping with cold sweat.

"You taught me, didn't you? Kill her! Just one bullet, then he'll run out with that gun." Gery pulled the mask over a little. Showing a wide grin on his lips.

Gery pats Arnold's shoulder. Then he turned around, and passed away leaving Arnold who was still standing with a face drenched in cold sweat. He still looked at the gun in his hand.

Arnold raised his head up. The small but thousands-sized star spots seemed to flash beautifully with the full moon in the center. Occasionally the wind came blowing, hit the pores of the skin that was only wrapped in a short-sleeved plain shirt.

"I'll end it now. It's the right time" Arnold murmured. He clasped the gun tighter, then walked towards Kevin's room which was not far from his room.

Arnold was standing at Kevin's door. Every time he wanted to open the door, his heart and mind kept on revolting. He pulled back his hand, away from the doorknob. However, as Father's words continued to flow in his brain, Arnold held the doorknob back, turning it slowly.

"Hopefully it's unlocked" Arnold murmured.

Door opens. A little surprised Arnold when the door could be opened. He thought Kevin was going to lock the door, but it didn't happen. Slowly Arnold moved his legs, approaching the bed where Kevin lay with his eyes closed.

"I'm sorry, Kevin. Honestly, I don't want to do this. I hate you, but I'll never have the thought of killing you."

The hand that held the gun shook again with cold sweat that kept coming out, dripping down the maroon-red carpet-clad granite floor. Arnold can't do this. He didn't want to kill Kevin.

It shook slightly, but Arnold kept his gun up, facing Kevin's head lying on the bed, with his eyes closed tightly.

"One more time, I'm sorry, Kevin."

In the middle of his eyes that are still closed. Arnold moved his fingers attached to the trigger, about to pull the trigger. However, the figure of the hand that held tightly to his fingers made Arnold gasp and open his eyes.

"K-evin!"

Arnold pulled his hand a little rough, stepped back with trembling hands, to the point of dropping his gun on the floor. Kevin woke up with a smile that seemed cynical to Arnold.

He got up from the bed, stood up while holding his side. Tender his back to the glass balcony door.

"It's funny, Arnold. I should have realized this a long time ago. I never thought your father was a hit man.

And maybe your father worked with him" Kevin said casually.

"Wait Kevin! Really am! I don't want to do this. But ...." Arnold did not continue. He lowered his face.

"Don't play around again, Arnold. Honestly speaking, your acting with your father yesterday actually managed to fool me."

Arnold raised his face. Is Kevin really going to be mad at her now? Will Arnold have to forget his thoughts on how he considers Kevin a friend?

"Huh ...." Kevin got up from his senses. Stand in front of Arnold. His eyes glanced at the fancy gun lying on the floor, then looked back at Arnold.

"Why don't you continue with your plan? I thought tonight was my last night. Isn't that right, Arnold?" Kevin grinned wide with the look of an eagle's sharp eyes. Making jakun Arnold go up and down, gulp.

"Kevin, I don't mean un—"

Arnold had not finished his words. Kevin roughly grabbed the collar of his shirt, pushing his body backwards. Until Arnold's body leaned against the wall. The tighter Kevin gripped Arnold's collar with a sharp eye. Back to make Arnold swallow.

"You bravely want to kill me?" Kevin chuckled with a sour face. "I think there are still good people in this world who still have gratitude. But I was wrong."

"I don't want to do this, Kevin! I'm being honest! Please forgive me! It's just compulsion!"

"Pusitions?" Kevin tilted his head. "You and your father are the same." Kevin pushes Arnold's body, pressing against the wall, making Arnold almost lose his breath if Kevin does not immediately take off his grip.

Kevin turned around, about to step forward. However, when Arnold was about to stand firm. Kevin grabbed the gun in his jacket pocket, then pointed it right in front of Arnold's face.

"The answer is honestly whatever I'm going to ask. Or this gun will take out the bullet." Back Kevin grinned wide.

"What do you want to ask! I don't know anything if you want to know about my father!"
