Svaneti Georgian
During the air for 11 hours, Mikel and Josh finally arrived at their destination. They did not look tired on their faces. Especially Mikel, the man looked tense, his heart was beating faster than normal heart in general. Both of his hands felt cold and trembling. I don't know, Mikel doesn't understand either. It is very difficult to believe, because all this time he thought that his parents were dead and never thought of him if they were alive and now fine.
"Is Young Master Mike okay?" Josh was aware of the nervousness attacking his young master. He was worried that Mikel was exhausted by the long journey from Amsterdam to Georgia. And not to mention they had to ride a car for forty minutes to Svaneti Village, a remote village inhabited by no more than 200 residents.
"I'm fine Uncle. It's just that I find it hard to believe that I'm going to meet both of my parents whom we've thought were gone."
Josh smiled at her, and he felt that way. "I also find it hard to believe all of this, but I'm grateful that they're alive and that I can meet Mr. Matt and Mrs Aprille again."
"You're right Uncle. Then we get out of the car now. They're waiting for us." Mikel's chin pointed at two men of different ages who were standing not far from the parked car, waiting for him.
Josh nodded, he immediately got out of the car following Mikel who had gone down first. Two men immediately approached Mikel and Josh.
"We've been waiting for your arrival, sir." Both bowed, saluting respect. They were people who had previously been given duties by the elders in the village there. Svaneti village is inhabited by the natives there and if you want to enter their village, then you must ask permission first to the elders there. Their customs are still very thick and not so accepting of foreigners. Moreover, foreigners from the city, it's just that Mikel's destination is so clear, want to find both parents. Mikel and Josh were allowed to enter their settlement.
Mikel replied with a nod of his head. He spread his gaze around, where there were several houses under the hill. The expanse is so green and grown by shady trees. It is soothing to the eyes, very different from big cities that have been filled with skyscrapers.
"Let's gentlemen, we deliver." One of them allows Mikel and Josh to follow them. Indeed, to get to the house referred to by Mikel can not be accessed by a car, so they have to walk a few kilometers.
"Disana is Matt and Aprille's house." One of them pointed to a house that was larger than several other houses. The villagers were used to calling the two like that. No one knows if Matthew and Aprille were a famous and wealthy couple before.
Mikel's gaze was glued for a moment on the building that was far from the word luxury, as well as large. Maybe if you see the house is bigger than the room he stopped by. It is very different from the lives of his parents. Both of Mikel's eyes were glazed over, so all this time both of his parents lived in a place like this? Even though it occupies a small house but the air is so cool and refreshing. Mikel did not deny how beautiful Svaneti Village was.
"Usually at a time like this, Matt and Aprille are on the field. Our daily work is to farm, farm, raise and much more." The voice of a man who was younger than him spread Mikel's daydream by explaining the daily life of the people there to connect life.
"Then are they still in the field? When are they back?" Mikel strengthened his heart that was trembling bitterly by speaking the man's words.
"Hm..." The man on Mikel's side seemed to be thinking and remembering. "It looks like they'll be back soon. Aprille could not be outside for more than three hours due to her deteriorating health, her legs were paralyzed and just sat in a wheelchair all day, while Matt could not speak. They are a very harmonious couple. They became our role models to look after each other like them."
Hearing the man's words, Mikel's heart was slashed with grief. His eyelids did not stop pulsing, holding back the melt of tears that were ready to spill. And Josh's reaction was not much different from Mikel's, Matthew's right hand feeling the pain his Master and Lady felt.
"Look, there they are." The man who was younger than his friend exclaimed, pointing at the two middle-aged couples who had just walked out of the shady trees. It looked like a middle-aged man was walking while pushing the wheelchair of a beautiful middle-aged woman. Although it has been eaten the age of the hair both do not whiten like the elderly in general.
Smiles on the lips of both middle-aged couples, I don't know what their topic is so happy. Mikel's long legs stepped up to approach her parents. The condensed eyes could not hold her tears any longer. The closer he got, the more he could hear Mommy Aprille's laughter that had just vanished, and darkened his entire life as they died.
"Matt baby, we'll have a grilled sweet potato in the afternoon. As usual, you prepare the fire and I'll burn the yams, we'll eat and drink the strawberry juice we just picked up this morning"
The middle-aged man responded with a smile. He always smiles every time he listens to the babble of his beloved wife. His hand continued to push the wheelchair, until then his gaze that was originally fixed on the face of the wife who looked up to him began to look forward. The corner of the lips that curled a thin smile suddenly shrunk when it found a young foreign man walking closer to them. He immediately stopped his steps, making the push on the wheelchair no more movement. The middle-aged woman turned her head, she who looked up looked at the husband following the direction of her husband's gaze.
"Who?" aprille asked with both eyebrows clutched in confusion. In contrast to Matthew who could not speak, the middle-aged man asked through the glare of his sharp eyes similar to a man standing looming like himself.
"Mom's.... Dad....?"
Deg
Both Aprille and Matthew were surprised to hear the young man calling them Mom and Dad. A long-lost calling from their hearing along with the death of their son and daughter eleven years ago. Emptiness and pain had always accompanied them, but the two agreed to strengthen each other for the sake of the tranquility of their sons and daughters in different realms.
"Mike....??" Out of nowhere, Aprille calls the man by the name of her dead son. But his trembling heart could not lie to the presence of his son whom they had not seen for a long time.
"Yes, I'm Mike.... Michael Jhonson, your son," he shuddered. Unable to stem her tears, Mikel let the melts of tears flood her face. Repeatedly he blinked his eyes to make sure that what he saw was not a dream or just an illusion.
BRACKET
Mikel was no longer able to support his body, his knees as if they were squeezing. His head was bowed and sobbed in a happiness that could not be described by the words or the look in his eyes. He was truly grateful that both his parents were alive.
Matthew was surprised to see the man before him suddenly drop his body on the grass and kneel down, the look in his eyes unintentionally caught a familiar figure as his face that was previously covered by the man's body was now clearly visible and filled his gaze.
"Josh?" his mind does not believe. Now he understands, his heart is right. The young man was his son and he immediately ran over to Mikel. Holding his knees on the grass, he hugged the son tightly.
Matthew's cry immediately broke out, he sobbed in the dressing of his residence because he could not make any sound. But from the tears that come out with a swift, showing if he also felt happiness that can not be expressed by anything.
Aprille's face was already flooded with tears, patting her chest which was in an overwhelming throbbing sense. He could not believe that the young man was his son, but the eyes and presence of the young man could not lie. Just one look at it he can already realize if the man is Mike, his son.
