"...What's?" Once again Frey was unsure of what he was hearing. They both stood there. With the silver-haired man listening to the unbelievable things of the red-haired man.
"He's the same age as you. Your father met with a servant moments he would marry his noble queen. Your brother was born of that servant."
"O-Oh.." Frey is speechless.
"...Do I have any other brothers besides him?"
"Yes, but your sister is dead."
Frey was so confused and surprised that she could not make another sound.
"Your brother hates his father for screwing up his life and his way of leading Hayden's kingdom." Valias let Frey rest for a moment. Before the surprise again.
"The attack that night,"
Frey didn't let Valias continue. "He did it?"
Valias put on a small smile. "true."
"...Why do you know all this?"
Valias shrugged his shoulders.
What's he supposed to say? Did he know because he was reading a story his friend had recommended?
"That's not important. He's gonna infiltrate the palace tonight, your honor."
"What?!" Frey's call so surprised the servants and knights who were far behind them but did not surprise Valias who was nearby.
That's how the story goes.
A week after the death of King Chalis and crown prince Frey Nardeen, a man and his flock immobilize the knights and invade the palace.
"You will leave the palace empty without knights and servants. And you'll meet your brother alone."
By himself?
Frey was unable to clear his mind. The man before him dropped a large rock on him, and he had trouble moving his body.
"You have to make that person listen to you. Your brother won't kill you that fast."
Valias was a bit doubtful, but the person who was the main character in the story did not hurt the royal family at all.
"Prove to him that you are different from the king's majesty. And you're totally dedicated to creating Hayden's peace. Get him to cooperate."
Frey listened to everything. Frey listened to everything Valias Bardev said. That guy's. With red hair and a flat expression, saying all that so indifferently.
It's too sudden for him. Her father is dead. And within a week he was already doing his job as a king. He almost died at his 22nd birthday party. Then, the man who was the Count's first secret child, told him to face the risk of death again?
The man Valias refers to as his half-brother was intent on harming him. He used a poison-tipped arrow and shot the arrow towards him.
His brother wanted to kill him, and Valias Bardev, told him to talk and convince the man?
Frey opened his mouth.
"I'll help you."
Frey heard the man speak again.
That person was shorter and four years younger than him. But his eyes radiated confidence. That man will hold his word. And Frey could believe everything the red-haired, pale-skinned man said.
"I'll meet that man with you. We'll talk to him together."
Valias, looking at the taller man in the eyes, gave his promise.
He's 2 years younger than me. He shouldn't have faced that person alone.
Valias let Frey calm himself down. He knows what he said must have had a big impact on the 22-year-old.
Frey continued to observe Valias with his mouth and eyes open.
"..You're gonna help me?"
The person in front of him nodded. Then a small smile appeared.
"Everybody needs help. And I have no reason not to help you. Your Majesty can calm down. We can do it."
Even Valias had to prepare himself to deal with the cold-blooded and had already lost too much of a reason to live it.
"Ah."
"..What's up again?"
"Yes? Oh. It's nothing."
Valias only remembered that if he was going to meet the main character in the story, it meant that he had to inform Hadden.
"I must tell Mr. Count that I will not return today."
Frey again observed Valias who looked so calm after dropping large stones on him.
"Ha. the way you go back and forth using me and I it drives me crazy. The Mage I gave to Bardev's residence is still there. You can ask the palace mage to send a message to the mage.
"Oh.. Okay." Okay."
Frey showed her frown. He breathed again.
"Your words are making me tired. Follow me. Let's just go in."
Valias blinked his eyes and followed Frey.
Valias followed the crown prince into a door on one side of the building. Everyone who runs into them will bend their bodies before returning to their activities. Valias observed Frey standing next to him walking so dignifiedly without even lowering his head. His body movements also looked so regular.
Valias thought, maybe this is how I behave people who have a position.
"Sister. Uh! There's Valias too! Why didn't you tell me? Brother wants to play with Valias alone? I want to too! Valias! Let's go see my brother. She must be happy to see you."
Wistar appeared from behind the corner of the hallway. His hand moved as if it was about to pull Valias' hand.
"Wistr. We have something to talk about."
Wistar felt a familiar aura from his brother and instantly changed his expression.
"alright. Will Valias come?" Frey nodded. Seeing that Wistar joined in and walked beside Valias.
"When did you come here?" Wistar returned with a cheerful smile.
"It's not long" Valias replied.
"Hm.. Is that so?"
They continued walking until they finally entered the spacious room with tables and sofas. Frey told Valias to sit down before taking a seat on a different side. This time Wistar sat down with Valias.
"So, what's up?"
"Tonight. Go with everyone."
Wistar frowned. "Sister mean?"
"The identity of the person who attacked me has already met."
"Who?"
Frey breathed a tired sigh. "That guy's coming here tonight. I'll go see him. You, Azna and mom go. Prepare train. Go to the west. Wait for news from me."
"I recommend magic switch places, your honor." Valias is talking.
"What. Is there a chance they're watching us?" Frey frowned distractedly.
Valias shrugged his shoulders again. The story is not explained how the men started their invasion. How they prepared, the author did not explain anything.
But, the thing that is not told still runs naturally like the Bardev family. And the meeting with Duke Vidor was also his son, Dylan.
Valias did not know if they would just appear in front of the palace or how. But Valias chose to be careful.
"Ha.. actually how far do you know?"
"What. Valias, you know something? Did God tell you anything else?"
Valias begins to feel guilty for lying to Wistar and his family.
"Ha. I don't know how you know all that. But for now I will believe your words. Understand, Wistar? Take care of your sister and mother."
"Will not see him alone? I don't need to be with my sister?" Wistar asked.
"no need. You're with Azna and mom. She's." Frey smirked towards Valias. "He'll be with me."
"Valias?" Wistar.
"He told me this information. So he'll face that guy with me. Didn't they? Valias Bardev." challenge Frey.
Valias nodded solemnly. Wistar watched the interaction between her brother and the child of her age sitting next to her.
"All right then. I'll pass this on to my mom and sister. Do I need to tell the butler and commander to disperse everyone?"
Frey smiled satisfied with his sister's sharpness and responsiveness. "Yes. Do that. We're gonna minimize the number of people in the palace."
"I understand. Alright, Valias. Like I can't play with you today. Bye then. Next time I'll take Dylan to see you." Valias just smiled slightly and Wistar replied with a big smile. Waiter Frey opened the door.
"How many people are coming?"
"Maybe a dozen."
"That much?"
Valias just nodded.
Frey breathed a lazy breath. The knight who had been following them since, finally opened his voice.
"Do I need to accompany you, Your Majesty?"
Frey shrugged his shoulders at Valias.
"What do you think?"
"It would be better to show that we're unarmed, your majesty. Negotiations will become easier."
"You heard it."
The knight wanted to express his opinion. But then decided to shut up. "I understand."
His master showed interest in a young master named Valias Bardev later today. Then, today his master finally called Valias Bardev to meet him. This was the first time she had seen the man who was the topic of her master's stale base with her.
On the day of the attack, Frey encouraged her to take time off, and she did not witness the moment with her own eyes.
Then now, his master wanted to meet the mastermind behind the attack without him, and only befriend a child of his noble age the prince of Wistar who looked so thin and frail.
That knight, Uvan, was feeling anxious. But if the master he had served since he was 15 had already decided, Uvan would not have sued the decision.
And so, Frey's servant brought the mage to the room where they had for Valias to send Hadden a message, then took Valias to the room where she slept for a week unconscious. Frey told him he would take care of everything. And Valias just needs to wait for the night time where that man and his flock are coming.
Valias spends his time reading books about royal politics brought by Frey's servants and thinking about various things.
The night has finally arrived. Valias felt the emptiness and silence of the palace. He thought that Wistar and the others had gone to the place Frey mentioned. A few minutes later Frey's servant came to take him back to the king's room.
Frey seemed to have prepared himself and was wearing a simpler suit. Without her badge and gold accessories.
Frey found Valias who had arrived before him and closed his eyes slowly. "Kalim, Uvan, you can go."
The servant and the knight jumped. There was doubt on their faces. But they finally bowed away.
"Now. Just you and me. Are you honored? King Hayden has given his trust and made you his friend." Frey grinned.
"Sure, your honor."
"Lied." He then snorted. This person in front of him was only a child his younger brother's age. But his behavior is so strange.
"When are they gonna be here?"
"Not long." Valias responded.
"Ck. I promised myself that I wouldn't ask where you knew all that."
Frey brings her gaze to the window that shows the night sky. "..You're not scared?"
Honestly, Valias was quite worried. And Valias believes Frey feels the same way. Or maybe worse. Valias mustn't let Frey feel that worry.
"No, your honor."
"..You're great." Frey said slowly. Valias feels awkward but doesn't show it.
"..If I die, are you fit to be my replacement?" The crown prince said in a soft voice.
To be honest Frey had this doubt in him. He was determined to be a different king from his father and be a good king for Hayden kingdom. But, if there really was a candidate who was more suitable than him, Frey thought he would not be so sad to lose his position.
"You will not die, your majesty. I won't let that." Valias said sure.
In the future that Valias wants, Frey Nardeen will live to be king of Hayden. Valias had already let himself get hurt saving the man. Valias would not let the wound go to waste.
Frey heard that put on a sarcastic smile. "You're right. People like you who go back and forth using me and I are no match for being king." Frey grunting.
Shortly after, he felt a group of people approaching. "They're coming."
Valias felt nothing but he brought his steps closer to Frey.
Door smashed. And a tall black-haired man entered with a group of people behind him. The man held a sword and walked up to the two of them.
"You guys." The man raised his sword towards them. "I'm gonna kill you here."
