The Count Family's Young Master

The Count Family's Young Master
Chapter 31 - Believe (1)

Radja tells Valias that he will beat up the man named Baran with a big smile. Feeling his intention to make a request to Kei's group was over, Valias told them to go to Frey's palaces - whenever they wanted to, he then ripped off the parchment that Frey had given him before it was prevented by Dylan.

"The spell on this paper can take whatever people are tearing it up. I had to tear it up with you to get back."

Valias cursed at her not knowing that and apologized to Dylan. How would Dylan go home if Valias left him here? Valias is worried that Kei's group is not kind enough to sacrifice their manpower for Dylan's sake.

Oza also laughed at Valias' stupidity while Kei's friends simply listened to the spectacle in front of them.

Dylan and Valias held the parchment on both sides and tore it together. Light surrounded them both. The next second they were in Frey's room.

Frey sat in his chair as usual. Valias saw that the pile of paper on the table had only one short stack left. Frey's appearance was already messy with the radiance of tired eyes.

"You're back?" He said with a voice that seemed to tremble.

"Yes, your honor." Valias replied while Dylan simply nodded.

Frey straightened his hair. "Where is Wistar?"

"He's staying at home."

Frey nodded twice without raising his face. "You two can stay here. I think it's too late to call a mage. You can go to the room at that time. Dylan. I'll take you to another room. I'm going to sleep too."

Frey got up from his chair while massaging the space between his eyes. Valias and Dylan agree to Frey's words and sleep in their respective rooms.

The next day, Frey's servant Kalim knocks on Valias's door.

"Young master, your Excellency Frey calls you into his room."

Valias agrees and goes to Frey's office with the waiter. Valias wakes up later than usual. He guessed it was because he was also more tired than usual after two trips yesterday.

She had just come out of the bathroom after cleaning her face and mouth when Kalim knocked on her bedroom door.

Inside the room were Frey, Dylan and Wistar with cups in their hands.

"For Valias!" Wistar is cheerful as always. Valias thinks there's a mage at Adelard's residence, or Wistar's been here in a horse-drawn carriage since early morning.

Kalim invited Valias to sit next to Dylan and also let him take a cup of tea from a tray on the table.

"Valias! What's with your neck?!" Wistar. The other two people focused their eyes on the young man's neck.

"You hurt? When?" Frey did not bother to forget the tea that was left a little in his cup. Not surprised by the injured Valias.

"Well.." Valias responds slowly while reaching for his tea clove. Frey thought maybe he was too tired last night to notice the bandage wrapped around Valias' pale neck.

"Valias. You still have the rips of the scroll I gave you?"

Valias nodded. With a bite he reached into the pocket of his pants and took out a paper that was only half that on Frey. Frey took it from Valias' hands and examined it before grinning. Valias did not understand why the silver-haired young man changed his expression suddenly but did not twitch.

Without Valias realizing Frey gave a wink to Dylan who was reciprocated with a small nod. Frey nodded with a satisfied nod while putting the tear into his pocket. "So? What are you talking about with them?"

Frey started the topic that will be their conversation this morning. Kalim had already walked out of the room after being asked by Frey earlier.

"I asked for their help to look for evidence for Baran's nobility."

Frey rolled his eyes.

"...You, asking them to be Hayden's spy?"

Valias nodded. "We lack reliable people, your honor. We can ask Kei and his friends for help. You can prepare the payment for them."

Frey knew Valias was going to talk to his half-brother, but did not expect the boy to ask Kei and his friends to help him get rid of the factions in Hayden.

Frey did not expect Valias would actually help him in ruling as king of Hayden.

Frey pretty, touched.

For the first time, he had people he could rely on other than Kalim and Uvan.

Wistar was smart enough to help him in some ways. But Wistar is too young and too flashy to work on things like lurking. Kalim himself, as a servant who was very reliable and trustworthy by Frey, his servant was no more than a servant and could not help his master much.

Frey recalled how Valias was bleeding and falling and was increasingly worried about the dying Valias.

He did not want to lose the only person who could be his friend.

Frey refocused his eyes on the bandage around Valias' neck.

"Your wounds, are you okay?" Frey finally asked.

Valias was astonished by how the initially indifferent Frey actually re-emerged the wound on his neck.

"It's okay." Valias answered short. In fact the wound was very small and must have closed by now.

"I will still call the physician for you. I will also ask Kalim to prepare potions and medicines for you. You better drink it all every day."

Valias frowned watching how Frey came to his desk and wiped the glass ball yesterday.

"Yes, your honor." Kalim opened the door immediately. It seemed that he was standing in front of the room from earlier.

"Prepare herbs and medicines for endurance for Valias. Prepare them in the best quality."

"I understand." Kalim immediately went to close the door.

While Valias is still astonished by the change of Frey. Frey sat in front of him. Looked at him expressionlessly.

"Sister! The best brother! Brother's right. We have to make Valias live long!"

Wistar. Valias frowned. But all right, he's not gonna wiggle. Let everyone do what they want.

"Your majesty"

"Call me brother."

".......Yea?" Valias. Wistar and Dylan both turned to Frey.

"Call me brother."

Valias was completely confused by the person who was two years younger than him.

"...Brother?"

"really. From now on don't call me your highness."

"...Then son-"

"The crown prince must not. You can't call me anything but brother."

...What's this kid?

Valias' forehead is so wrinkled. He was never this good in his life. Even when he started inhabiting Valias' body he wasn't this good.

"Call me brother. Or I'll tell you everything you've done to Count Bardev."

"Yes?"

Valias doesn't want the real Valias family to know what he's doing. His original plan was for him to help Frey Nardeen secretly. But then Wistar and Dylan came along. He didn't want Hadden to know and was made to worry about his son. That would hinder Valias' movement.

"Pffts. Brother! Brother want Valias to call you brother? Then me and Valias will be brothers? That's nice! Valias. Just follow what you want, Brother Frey. He would be happy if you called him brother. Like you called me Wissy." Wistar smiled widely.

Valias feels silly because he is older than Frey. But, no problem. Calling someone younger than you brother will not hurt you.

"...Okay. Brother."

Frey finally grinned. "good. Now, let's discuss our main topic again."

Valias laughs at Frey's silliness in the heart. "Kei's friends will come to this room when they want to. They have a mage and can move here whenever they want. The mu-"

"Sister."

Valias smiles. "really. Brother must be prepared to be visited by them at any time. Let me know if you need me anytime. I'll help you."

Valias finished the tea in his cup and put the cup back on the tray.

Frey was astonished by how attentive his younger brother was to him. Frey wondered if there was anything the red-haired boy expected of him.

But even if he did, Frey thought he wouldn't mind granting Valias any request.

Feeling that there was nothing else for them to talk about, Dylan and Valias decided to go home. Once again Wistar drove them to meet the mage. Valias saw himself at the gate of the Bardev residence.

"T-Young master? You're out of the way?"

The two gatekeepers were shocked by Valias' sudden appearance. Yesterday Valias was moved by Mareen on the training ground. And these two guards didn't know that Valias was leaving the mansion.

"Yes." Yeah." Valias gave a friendly smile.

"Young master. Your neck.." The other guard said clumsy.

"Ah." Valias remembered the bandage on his neck and immediately removed the bandage.

"Do we need to call a healer?"

"No. No need."

"Then I'll tell Count--."

"No. Don't tell anyone. It's a secret."

Valias nonchalantly touched his neck and felt a line of dry skin there. The two guards looked at Valias with strange expressions.

They had already heard how Valias was protecting crown prince Frey and lost consciousness for a week. They also saw how the young master whom they had never seen clearly since the person had always been inside the mansion and did not appear much finally gave rise to his figure for the first time. But the scene they saw was how their red-haired young master was injured but did not want to worry about his family.

The two gatekeepers looked at Valias with sad faces. Valias was unaware of this and stepped into the mansion building.

Valias was about to press the knob of the large entrance of the building when the sound of the exclamations of two different people made him stop.

"What?! You can't come in!"

"Stop!!"

Valias felt a cold sensation attack his back.

Did someone force in?

He turned his body and his forehead instantly wrinkled.
