“Assistant?” The mother of Devano frowned.
“Not your assistant, Johan? Does he no longer work with you?” Ask again.
Edward took a deep breath, then exhaled it.
“Johan is still working with me. It's just that, lately the work in the office is a lot. So he's looking for an assistant to take care of me at home.” The man turned his gaze towards Devano who was busy pacing around in the water. He did not want to look at Felisha, because she knew she was lying.
‘I'm sorry, Ara.’
“A female assistant at home?” Search the woman again.
“Hmm.” Edward nodded his head.
“He was an orphan who needed a lot of money to pay the debt of his late mother.” The man gulped back his orange juice. “Johan can't bear to see him here and there looking for a loan. So he offered the girl a job.”
What Edward said was not entirely a lie. It's just that he said it was Johan who offered the girl a job.
“Why should I be an assistant at home? Why not just give a job at the office?” Felisha asked increasingly.
“He's still in college third grade. You know, Johan has a very big compassionate soul. Looking at the girl, Johan looked at himself. An orphan who likes to work hard.” The man smiled at the end of his speech. Laura's shadow suddenly flashed through her mind.
‘I miss you, baby’
Edward closed his eyes. Trying to erase the shadow of the sweet girl who approached him.
“What he—
“She's a good girl, Fel.” Edward cut Felisha's speech.
“He will even cry if he remembers his family. I can't bear to see it either.” Edward turned over his half-submerged body in the water.
He then placed his chin on the knee of Felisha sitting by the pool, with half of the woman's foot in the water.
“You know, I imagine if you were in that girl's position. Come here looking for a loan but you don't get it.” Take the 35-year-old again.
Felisha gently rubbed Edward's wet head.
“I know, it wasn't Johan who offered the girl a job, but you didn't?” Said the woman with a smile.
“Fel, the—
“I know you, Ed. We've spent time together almost our entire lives.”
“You're not angry, Fel?” Edward asked cautiously.
“What am I angry for, Ed. As long as your intentions are good to give the girl a job, I won't be angry. But if until you have other intentions, I will be very angry with you.” The woman stroked Edward's face.
The man then kissed Felisha's hand gently.
“Thanks, Fel.”
‘I have to find the right way and time to tell you, if someday I will marry her, Fel.’
*****
After dinner, as usual Edward took the time to play with Devano for a while.
Edward loved Devano very much, he did not want the 8-year-old boy to lack the affection of a father in his childhood.
He had felt, how to live without the presence of a father on his side when he was still very young.
“Dev. Your mom is waiting in the room. Said he needed your help.” Said Madame Felisha who suddenly interrupted her son and grandson's play.
“Ah yes, I forgot. I have to help mom for a moment, pa.” The boy got up from his seat. Then he ran towards the room he used to occupy with his mother.
“What mama accidentally kicked him out of here.” Edward squinted his eyes at his mother.
“No, indeed Feli is in need of Devan's help. He said he wanted to open the souvenirs you brought.” Said the 60-year-old woman.
“How's the office, Ed?” Ask Mrs Hugo while sitting her bo*kong on the sofa right behind the son.
“Good office, ma.” Edward answered while staying focused on compiling puzzle pieces, which he played earlier with Devano.
Madam Hugo nodded her head.
“Ed, actually mama would love for us to live together like we used to. Mama doesn't want us to be apart like this any longer, Ed.” The middle-aged woman's gaze glared far away.
She remembered her story long ago, when her late husband was still around. Until the birth of his grandson Devano.
“Ma, haven't I told you we shouldn't discuss this issue again? I don't mind if I have to come back here to visit you guys.” The man stopped his activities and sat down next to his mother.
“Ma, however, Felisha's health is more important. Life in the capital would have depressed him. I don't want anything to happen to her, ma. You are half my life.” The grown man then put his head in the lap of the mother.
Lady Hugo gently rubbed the head of the son. Time goes by so fast, without feeling now his son is 35 years old. And 20 years he has lived without a husband at his side.
“Mama won't discuss this again, Ed. Your happiness is your happiness mama too.”
“Thanks, ma. My mom trusts me enough. And mama always pray for me, everything will be fine.”
Madame Hugo slightly bowed and warmly kissed her son's forehead.

“Hallo, baby? What are you doing?” After his conversation with his mother, Edward decided to contact Laura. The feeling of longing for the girl was getting worse.
He chose to leave the house and be alone in the garden of the mother. So that no one hears the talk.
“Halo, Ed. I'm in the room. What's up?” Ask the girl from across the line.
“I miss you, baby.” Said the man without further ado.
There was no reply from the sentence the man said. Which made his two eyebrows almost fuse together.
“Baby, you heard me.” Ask the man again.
“Hmm.” Laura's Sahut
“Why are you silent?”
“I just feel weird, why call me that? I'm not a kid.” The girl protest.
“I like it, sounds sweet when said.” The adult man bit his lower lip. The shadow of her being together with Laura just suddenly appeared just like that.
“Hah.sial.” Edward cursed as he felt his soft object begin to stiffen.
“You cursed me, Ed?” Ask the girl.
“No, Ra. It's just. When I call you baby, make something rebellious want to attack you.”
“Basic old man mes*um.” The girl chuckled.
“Jaga talk you, baby. Don't let anyone hear it.”
“Nobody listened to him, Mr. Hugo. My room is on the other side of the parlor.” Obviously the girl.
“Ah, it feels like I want to sneak in there and finish you off.” The man's voice began to crackle.
“Try it if you dare.” Challenge the girl.
“Awas just you. I'm going home soon tomorrow. Before dinner I'm already in the penthouse, I'll finish you off .”
“I wait for your punishment, Mr. Hugo.” The girl's voice sounded.
“Sial.” The man chuckled, what is this thing called being in love. Makes him like an insane person.
Not far from there, Lady Hugo noticed the movements of the son.
Yes, who had left Edward in the family room, when he returned did not find his son there. And one of his domestic assistants said that Edward was in the park.
The middle-aged woman slightly heard what her son was talking about with his cell phone.
“Who are you hiding from us, Ed?”
