Chapters. 69. Small Surprise.
The luxury car, driven by Edward, arrived at the home yard at exactly 11 p.m.
Mr. Toto Yan looked at that, approaching towards the luxury car.
From the left side of the car, down the cute girl the owner of the home. And from the right side of the car, down a grown man.
“Good day, sir Edward, non Laura.” Sapa Pak Toto slightly bowed his body.
“Siang, sir.” Laura said, while Edward smiled.
The man then opened the back door of the car, picked up some papper bags, which contained hand fruits for the residents of the orphanage.
“Pak, why quiet like this?” Laura was wobbly looking for the whereabouts of her sisters who used to roam the courtyard of the parlour.
“Kids have not returned, non.” Answer mr. Toto.
Laura squinted her brows. He did not know if the children of the orphanage were traveling.
“Where are they, sir?”
“Baby, let's meet your mother and aunt first.” Edward dragged the girl by the hand, before hearing the reply from the gardener.
“Ed, but—,”
“Later you will know.”
They walked into Mary's mother's room. Laura noticed some oddities around her.
“Ed, wait. This is something weird. Since when there is such a place to play.”
Laura pointed to the playground that had just finished making. There is a swing, a slide that is not too high, there is also a trampoline.
“Since I came here.” Answer the man with his trademark smile.
Laura nodded at what the man said. Edward had only been here once, but there had been a change.
What if that guy comes here often? Will the building change?
The girl was again stunned, she found the walls of the orphanage building more colorful. Even in some corners, there are walls decorated with images of natural scenery.
“Nak, you guys are coming?” Maria's mother and Lily's aunt approached the two of them.
“How are you, Mom? Auntie?” Edward hugged the middle-aged woman alternately.
Laura again could not believe seeing what happened. How could so many changes in this parlour be in just a few days?
“Baby, you don't greet your mother and aunt?” Edward whispered in the girl's ear.
“Ah?” Instantly the girl awoke from her daydream.
“Bu..aunt...” Laura hugs the two middle-aged women simultaneously.
“Bu, what happened? Why did the parlour change this way?”
“Ask nak Edward, he did this all.” Mary's mother smiled.
“You owe me an explanation, Mr. Hugo.” Grumpy the girl.
“It's just a little surprise, baby.” Said the man while smiling.
They return to talk, Edward hands over his luggage to Aunt Lily.
“When will the sisters be back, Mom?” Ask Laura. The yearning for her sisters was not treated because they were not in the parlors.
“Tomorrow afternoon, nak.”
Mother Maria breathed her breath. He looked towards Edward.
“Nak Edward, Thank you for everything you do for this home. Mom is so grateful. Finally there are good people who want to renovate this place.”
Edward smiled faintly. For him, it's just a small thing. Even the money used is not how he thinks.
“Bu, I told you, I just pray for me, to keep me healthy. So I can keep working, and help the people around me.”
Laura turned to the grown man. He really doesn't know what to do now. Edward again gave him help, this certainly makes him more attached to the man.
“Ed..” says the girl shriveled. But Edward could still hear it.
“Why?” The man asked with raised eyebrows.
“Thanks—,” Laura sighed slowly. “Thank you so much for all you gave me and my family.”
Edward brought his face to Laura's side.
“Thank you the right way, baby.” Whisper the man.
Laura smashed her lips. He then hit the arm of the man next to him.
“Bu, your daughter is torturing me.” Edward's father to Mary's mother.
“Can't be like that, son.” Bela mother Maria.
After a content conversation, Laura helps Aunt Lily prepare lunch, while Edward and Maria's mother monitor the workers who rearrange the belongings of the residents of the orphanage.
Edward was satisfied with the work of his subordinates. For a while maybe this will be enough, he will look ahead again. There may be other things that need to be repaired again, without destroying the previous building.
After lunch, they returned to help the workers tidy up the items.
“Hallo, Fel. What's up?” Edward asked after the phone stuck to his ear.
“Ed, you're in a parlor? If so, can you go home for a minute? There's something important. I can't talk on the phone.” Felisha's voice sounded sad.
The two men's eyebrows furrowed, almost fused together. He knew from Felisha's tone of voice, something must have happened.
“Alright, I'll be there soon.”
Edward disconnects the call, and saves his phone back.
“Baby, I have a little business. Is it okay if I stay?” Said the man approaching towards Laura.
“What's the problem?”
“I don't know, but Felisha just called me, maybe Devano is sulking.” Said the man.
“Alright, be careful on the road.”
“Do you want to come?” Ask the man again.
Laura shook her head, she was not ready to meet the Edward family. He did not want to be kicked out of the man's life.
Not because he was afraid of life, but because he was comfortable with Edward.
“Yes already, I will be back soon, if not today, tomorrow I will pick you up.”
The man put a kiss on Laura's forehead as a sign of separation.

Riding his car at full speed, Edward arrived at his home about 15 minutes after leaving the home.
With wide steps, he entered the mansion.
A house assistant opened the door for her. Without further ado, the man entered his house.
“What's Fel?” He said after finding his twin sister in the family room.
“Ed.” Felisha hugged her sister for a moment. Then take her sit.
“What Devano sulked?” Ask the man.
“No, she's taking a nap.”
Felisha seemed to think for a moment, somehow conveying the wishes of the mother to Edward.
“Ed, the ma—,”
“Finally you came too, Ed. Just now mom wants to visit you there.”
Lady Hugo suddenly came to interrupt her children's conversation.
“Ma.” Edward hugged the mother for a while, then led the middle-aged woman to sit beside him.
“What's the problem, ma?” Now Edward knows, there is something going on between his mother and his sister.
“Mama go straight, mama wants you to get married as soon as possible. Your age is getting older. Mama also wants to have grandchildren from you.” Said mrs Hugo without further ado.
“Mama wants to introduce you to the child of mama's friend, she's a beautiful, educated, hardworking child. Mama sure she fits you.” The middle-aged woman continued her words.
Edward was shocked to hear the mother's words. No wind, no rain the mother suddenly wanted to introduce her to a girl. Why should it be now? When he had a choice, it was impossible to choose another.
“Ma, I already have a lover.” Edward replied firmly. Signs she rejected the wishes of her mother.
“It's up to you, which obviously mom will still introduce you to the girl of choice mama.”
