Chapiter 12

Magisna moved forward with new energy. But the tunnel looks alien. He did not hear the sound of running water.

For a moment, Magisna could still feel the emergency jerking her off.

The red fog is there. He did not make any noise when he attacked Dika. It's possible that the fog is behind them now and they'll never know until it's too late.

"Why are you guys stopping?" magisna asked gasping. "That creature could be anywhere. We have to keep going!"

Novi frowned in a twinkling light. "Gua thought the pool was here. Which way are we coming from?"

"The cave doesn't know" Magisna told him. He looked into the half-dead frightened eyes of Novi. "Gua didn't know how to get back to the pool" he admitted.

"We can't get out" Alexza almost cried. "We can't go out" he repeated sadly.

Magisna suddenly felt irritated. Why is Alexza desperate now?

"We just have to keep going before that strange fog overtakes us."

"There's no way, Magisna!" snapped Alexza. "We'll be even more stray if we keep going."

"We've been straying from the beginning" snapped Magisna. Anger filled him. After threatening to snatch the torch from her, then almost abandoning her, now Alexza just gives up?

"Here's the torch!" magisna's orders recaptured the torch from Alexza's hands.

"Wooy!" alexza protest. "Who's your boss here?"

"Can you shut up?" hardik Magisna's. "Dengerin cave! Don't think the cave isn't afraid? The cave is just as scared as you are. But there's no way we're just sitting here sweet. The creature is not far behind us, he can matainin us easily if we just sit here, fighting arguments while whining. That creature doesn't care about your whining. You think that's the creature of your ancestors?! We must think!"

"Lu thought to myself. The cave can't think" cried Alexza. "We're stuck down here!"

"Keep you don't want to know that. You don't want to know about the creature? Don't you care about Hendra?"

Alexza bullies Magisna and glares at her. "Do you know that the cave actually cares?"

"So far from seeing him again?"

Alexza is crying now. "He may be dead now" he said sadly.

"Maybe also belom," Magisna debates.

"How should we do now?" Novi yelled to interrupt the two. "Do we need a princess back to that place? Come onl. We're looking for Hendra now!" his challenge. "All of us surrender to a strange creature that is not clear what its name is?!"

Magisna fell silent. Are you sure you want to go back there?

The thought of the strange red mist made him absolutely horrified. No fog can attack a human. Who's gonna believe it?

"How do you want to go?" magisna asked Novi. His voice sounded weak.

Novi. "Kalo according to the cave anyway, we mending the way just continue. Want to take the pool cake willy-nilly. You know we finally found the exit. How's it?"

Alexza and Magisna did not answer.

"Okay, Lexza?" Novi added.

Alexza nodded.

"Then let's go" said Magisna. "But please slow down. The cave can't run."

"Caves know," murmured Alexza. "Sori, we already left you."

Magisna just shut up. Not sure if he forgave Alexza.

They walked forward, veering in the corner of the corridor, passing through some empty space. None of them look familiar.

The flame of the torch began to extinguish little by little at every turn. Soon they will be in complete darkness.

Then what else?

Magisna couldn't let herself think about it. He walked limping, his breathing was irregular.

A formless body lay rotting on the ground in front of them.

Magisna. He jumped, away from the foul-smelling corpse. Three mice clawed at the corpse, fretting at it while screeching.

Magisna's stomach twitched.

"Corpse!" scream Alexza. "That must be Dika's body!"

"Or Hendra," said Novi.

Alexza charged forward, pushing Novi aside past Magisna.

"Hey!" magisna shouted in surprise. He staggered side-by-side and his aching ankle was unable to support his body. His body also collapsed.

When Magisna fell, the torch in her hand floated from her hand. He saw the torch hitting the wall. Shot and landed on the tile floor.

The torch sizzled softly, shimmered, then extinguished.

The total darkness covers them.

Magisna tried to hold back her moans. It felt as if all the walls were pressing down on it. So dark. So stuffy.

He hears Novi's breath hunting irregularly next to him, then hears Alexza swearing.

I need to calm down, Magisna said inwardly. I have to think!

But it's so dark. All his childhood fears came over.

"Did anyone see whose body it was?" magisna asked trembling.

"Gua can't say" Alexza told him. "The drill died before the cave saw his face. But I think it's Hendra's shirt."

Magisna tried to concentrate her mind. He tried to ignore the panic that was stirring him. Trying to ignore the darkness. Trying not to ignore the fact Hendra's body was lying in front of him.

"It's Hendra, it must be the strange fog that killed him, too" said Novi no less trembling. "That thing kills, keeps him here."

Magisna heard Alexza panting. Probably crying. "And now the creature may still be here!" his yell. "And we can't see!"

Magisna extended her hand into the darkness. He fumbled along the cold floor until his fingers touched the torch.

"We have to keep moving" Novi said. "Although there are no torches. We can't stay here."

Magisna licked her dry lips. "Hendra's got a match," he yelled raucously.

"Hendra is dead" Alexza growled.

"Korek... It must be in his pocket somewhere" said Magisna. "In the pocket of what pants in the pocket of a shirt."

Silent moment.

"Don't try to make the cave nyari match. The cave won't, "novi protest.

"Must," Magisna urged. "That strange fog could be here with us. And we don't know! We gotta get out of here! We need light!"

He heard his own hysterical voice. Relax, he ordered himself.

"Gua also did not want to touch Hendra's body" Alexza said. "The cave cannot. The oath!"

Magisna forced herself to crawl forward. "Alexza, you know where the body is?"

"In front of the cave" whispered Alexza timidly. "Lu follow the sound of the cave."

Magisna crawled forward. Alexza's hand touched his shoulder.

"He's over here" Alexza said. "What do you want to do?"

Magisna. "Gua wants to try to find a match" he said. "The cave wants to check all his pockets." He heard Alexza moving away.
