Fear runs through Magisna's spine. Perhaps exploring this place is not a good idea. Who knows what's behind here?
But what could really happen?
Isa sir can catch him. And he will be punished again.
But then another word came to his mind.
Corsings.
Magisna took that thought away. That's bonkers. Only troubled children get a ban. People like Hendra, Dika and Alexza.
But what if they're trapped?
What if the principal finds them in the fertilizer shed?
He looked around her. The corridor was perfect for hiding. It was dark enough that no one could see it. No one will know he's there.
But he knew he had to come back. He stepped into the warehouse.
The floor below it ticked, then creaked, followed by a very loud crackling sound.
Then, with a roaring sound, the floor under his feet suddenly collapsed mired.
Magisna lost balance. Arms flailing. Looking for something, anything to keep it from falling. All he could hold was empty air.
Magisna screamed as she fell through the floor.
He was speeding in the darkness.
The air rippled sharply on his face. His stomach was as if it were thrown down his throat. Lungs empty.
Then he hit the floor.
Hurled.
A sense of heat creeps up on the left leg from the wrist to the waist. His dazzling glare dazzled him. He heard a loud ringing sound in his ear drum.
Then feel the cold cement underneath. He felt a sharp, sandy steel ladder pressing down on his shoulder. His heart was racing in the chest.
The numbness all over his body gradually left him, replaced by a specific puncture of pain. His ankle is throbbing. His elbow felt sore under his sweater.
How far did it fall? Three meters? Five meters? Fifteen? No. gabe. Fifteen meters would have killed him. But five meters is a good estimate. It felt like forever-long enough for him to think he was going to die.
But I am still alive, he said in his heart. And I need to know where I am now.
He sat up straight, the pain stung his entire joint. He runs his fingers around his ankle. It was so swollen that he could no longer feel his bones. He tried to move it.
"www!" his yell.
He had never felt this kind of pain in his entire life. But he knew his bones weren't broken. Even though he was sick, he could still move it.
He stroked his elbow, feeling warm, wet skin that should have been wrapped in a sweater. Torn, he thought bitterly. And bleed.
Waves of nausea enveloped him. Cold sweat rolled down his forehead.
"Relax" muttered Magisna in the darkness. "I'm doing fine. I'm fine."
Hearing his own voice made him a little calm. He tried to sit up straight, feeling the steel stairs behind him. He could not see how high the stairs were.
He patted the floor around him. His hands touched the rough concrete and trash. Broken bottle. Crumple cans. Wet paper.
Where is he?
A kind of underground tunnel or basement of Van Til's house, he concluded. But why is he here? He had never heard anything about this tunnel.
Magisna took a deep breath. This place is damp, like mossy. No matter where he is, no one has come down here for a long time.
He has to get out of here. He took the stairs and tried to pull his body up. A sharp pain stabbed his ankle. He fell back to the floor.
Yeah, thats.
"Please!" he yelled.
His voice echoed in the wall and rose into the hole, but it sounded soft.
"Whoever!" he tried again. "Whoever, please!"
There's no answer.
He was alone in the dark.
Waves of fear mixed with nausea. What if they don't find it? It could be down here for days.
No way, he thought.
He screamed again.
Still no answer.
"Come dong!" raung Magisna, swinging his fists in frustration. His fists hit the concrete wall, causing an explosion of pain in his arm.
It frowned and slumped on a sharp metal staircase. Sweat ran down his face. Difficult to breathe in moist air.
Then he heard a voice.
Magisna was still glued. Listen in.
Silent again.
Then that voice again.
Hi-hi-hi, hi-hi-hi.
On his right.
I must have heard wrong, he said inwardly.
Magisna groped the stairs, her ankles protesting every movement.
He lifted his body to his feet, a sense of relief flowing as he held the rough metal of the stairs. Then he pulled his body up.
Then something fell on his neck. Something warm and heavy.
And live.
Magisna.
Something around his neck was wriggling. Little claws pierced his skin.
He grabbed the creature and tried to throw it. But the creature was entangled in her hair. Screeching hard.
The rat!
Panic runs through Magisna. He screamed again. The fine fur was attached to his skin. Finally, the creature snatched it from its hair-and threw it into the tunnel.
The mouse landed with a squeak.
Magisna rubbed her nape with her fingers. He could still feel the little claws of the mouse rubbing against his skin.
It's gone, he said in his heart. Just relax. Already gone.
And I gotta get out of here.
Magisna blocked the stairs. He was raised to his feet, putting all his weight on his right ankle.
The pain was seeping into his left leg.
He forced himself to climb the first ladder. A thin layer of damp vapor covered the metal. Hand slumped. He fell to the floor again.
He landed on a warm wiggling blob.
The clump squeaked and squirmed underneath. Magisna. He rolled away.
The mouse ran away in the darkness.
Magisna lay on her back, almost crying.
"Ashik," came the voice.
Magisna.
The sound!
"Hey! Get out of here!" his yell.
"Gise... Gis--what's his name?" ask that voice.
"Magishna!" snarl.
They found themselves!
He heard the noise, then the same crackling sound as before he fell, then a loud thumping sound. The light from Hendra's lighter appeared on it.
"This is a trapdoor" Hendra's voice appeared. "There's an old naro board on it-wild! Gisna kejeblos down!"
"Well, why are you there, jajal elmu?" ejejek Novi's.
"Jajal elmu, jajal elmu! Elmunium?" rutuk Magisna began to fall into a ridiculous tangle.
"Alumunium, b e g o!" sergeant Novi twirled his eyeballs.
"The board is rotten" said Hendra.
"Can't you help the cave?" whining Magisna. "The cave legs are sick."
"Can you climb up?" Dika asked.
Anger flows through Magisna. "Where the hell is your brain?"
"Okay, the cave is down now" replied Hendra.
"Lu's crazy, huh?" Magisna heard Alexza yelling furiously. "Lu can do it too, tau!"
"Gisna will nahan cave if jatoh cave," Hendra kelakar.
Although under these circumstances, such a comment made Magisna smile. Once Hendra was there, he felt safer. Even in a tunnel full of rats.
