"Review, careful!" Dusk warns Hendra. "I filled all the rifles," he said. He put his rifle back on the shelf and closed the glass. "In case…"
Wish what? ask Magisna in heart.
"I will tell you not to be too careful with firearms" said Dusk to Hendra and Agustin, who turned his back on the fireplace. "There's a boy named Michael."
Hendra and Magisna spontaneously exchanged glances with restless faces.
"He loved to hunt during storms. You crazy idiot. I'll bet he'll be out even on a bad day like now. He said it was more challenging."
"What's he hunting?" ask Agustin.
"Bebagig!" sidelines Ice from the top of the sofa while laughing in a funny childish voice.
Bebegig means scarecrow.
"Kerud," replied Dusk seriously, then began to tell stories while pacing back and forth. "He always said he could see the kerud more clearly in a storm. Kerud cannot hide well during storms. That's what he said. But he made a mistake, you know. I mean, it's easier to see a gazelle in the snow, but a heckuva is harder to see than a hunter. You guys understand what I'm saying?"
Magisna gulped. Hendra and Agustin stammered. Ice stopped laughing.
The entire room stared at Dusk with eyes and mouth rounded.
Heckuva is the term to refer to the unlucky bearer.
Agustin nodded and smiled uneasily.
"Well, I think you can guess the end of the story!" Dusk grinned widely towards Agustin.
Hendra was downcast with a sullen face, seemingly beginning to feel uneasy.
The attractive ice sat its body and stared at the fire while hugging both knees.
He must not have liked the story, Magisna thought as she glanced at him. Just like me.
"The poor boy's head was shot by some stupid hunter!" Dusk jerk his head back and laughed.
Hendra joined him, laughing as he shook his head. Agustin looked back at Magisna and rolled his eyeballs, as if to say, what the hell is wrong with these people?
Magisna couldn't see the funny part either. This story is terrible, he thought. "Is that poor boy your friend?" tanyanya hesitated.
"Well," replied Dusk as he turned to Magisna and widened his eyes. And for what reason, it made him laugh even harder. "Do you believe it?"
Magisna blinked and turned her face away.
"I mean, do you believe that guy is really that kind of crazy idiot?" repeat the twilight while raising his shoulder. Then it shook its head and grinned widely.
Hendra looked sharply at Magisna. Like trying to guess his mind.
Magisna gulped with difficulty, then glanced at the weapon rack behind Hendra with an anxious look on his face.
Agustin simply shook his head, then headed back towards the sofa towards Ais.
"Maybe we can all go hunting together" Dusk told Hendra. "What do you think?" He asked Agustin.
"No," Agustin hurriedly. "I'd rather just stay here in front of the fireplace. I and Ais were tired of walking in the woods during the storm."
The face of Dusk looks dislike. Agustin's answer did not seem to please him.
Suddenly Magisna felt cold again despite still being in front of the fireplace. Shivering and looking uncomfortable. Maybe because he was too exhausted or it could be because he saw the weapons and heard the story of Dusk.
Do not let yourself be influenced by the story, Magisna said in her heart. But he remained inexhaustible as to how Dusk could think the story of his friend being killed was so ridiculous to him.
Then Magisna rebuked herself for over-assessing the situation. He's just trying to be friendly. He also felt uncomfortable with us. After all he was good enough to have accommodated all of us. I'm just not used to dealing with people like Dusk, so the guy makes me feel uncomfortable, he concluded. Then got up and stepped towards the large window that almost filled the entire wall.
"Pak Dusk—" Magisna turned to Dusk hesitantly.
The man glanced at him with a flat face. "Yes?"
"Who's the poor boy's last name?" magisna asked half-collapsed.
"Isaac" replied Dusk. "Michael Isaac!"
Magisna flinched towards Hendra and stuttered with a pale face.
Hendra stared back at him sharply, as if asking, what the hell are you thinking?
Who is this guy really?
Is he the Twilight whose name is written on the wall in the doolhof?
That night is already a ghost!
That him?
Enough's enough! Magisna rebuked her. Stop scaring yourself!
Magisna let out a heavy sigh, moved away from the window and walked towards the kitchen. Dusk is just teasing me, he said inwardly. He was just trying to scare me. Maybe he knows Isa. But how did he know something had happened to Mr. Isa even though he wasn't shot by hunters?
No, Magisna argued inwardly. He knows nothing about Isa. He's talking about another Michael Isaac!
I need to talk to Gabe. That way I can distract a little of my bad thoughts. Who knows, I could have all this information about this couple. Probably not too bad.
The smell of apples and cinnamon was smelled when Magisna entered the kitchen.
The kitchen is large and warm with dark wood panels, showing rafters on it.
It doesn't look like a hunting lodge kitchen at all. In addition, he saw a cozy corner for breakfast with a long wooden table, a wooden cabinet on three sides of the wall, and a large curtained window overlooking the backyard.
A large ancient stove was stuck to one wall. There was something that was billowing in a round-shaped copper pot on top of that stove.
Gabe was in a double dishwasher washing the coffee cups that the four teenagers had used.
"Hi," said Magisna hesitatingly. His voice surprised the woman.
It seems Gabe is thinking of something. He looked at Magisna with his eyebrows intertwined. "Sorry," he said with a slightly reddish face. "I forgot what your name is!"
"Magishna. Sorry, I'm bothering you!" Magisna. "But I'm still cold" he reasoned. "May I have a cup of tea? I can do it myself, if I can."
"It's okay," Gabe dried his hands with a napkin, then walked past Magisna and grabbed up to open one of the cabinets. He tiptoed and began to roam the contents of each shelf, looking for tea.
He's looking for tea in his own kitchen?
"Can I help you?" Magisna.
"No. I'll find him!" Gabe opened the cabinet and opened the other cabinet.
Magisna gulped and stuttered.
Suddenly it made Magisna feel astonished. If this is the kitchen, why doesn't Gabe know where the tea is?
Am I the only one interpreting too far? thought Magisna.
Or is this really strange?
