The Van Til House: STRAF SABBAT

The Van Til House: STRAF SABBAT
Chapiter 46

Magisna crossed to the other side of the bridge, and looked down once more.

There was no sign of his motorcycle drowning in the river.

The river was clear water, so clear that he could see to the bottom of the river. Even though his motorcycle sank, he could definitely see it.

But then he groaned in disappointment and despair. Then turned his body towards the man who had helped him and gasped.

The man's hair reached his ankles. The ends of his hair are parallel to the ends of his robe, until the hair seems to be his robe. The feather of Magisna immediately brushed. The sight made him shudder. Feeling horrified and amazed.

Is he human?

"I know a shortcut to your house!" The man's words jerked the Magisna.

"Huh?" Magisna. "Gu-gua... haven't told you where the cave house is, have you?"

"Yes" the man answered flatly. "I know the shortcut to all places."

Magisna.

"As long as it's still in the plantation area!" The man added.

"Oh," Magisna gulped and nodded with difficulty. His eyelids were shaking restlessly. But his attention could not turn away from the man.

"Say where your house is!" the man confirmed.

Magisna was doubtful.

Will he say it?

Magisna. His instincts said, The man is not a human being. But, why? His heart and mind are not in line. My worst fate is like Suzy Yan!

"I live in Taman Sari Housing!" magisna answered at last.

The man smiled faintly, then crossed towards Magisna and walked slowly to the end of the bridge.

Magisna followed him without saying.

The man went down the path at the corner of the bridge and turned to Magisna, trying to ascertain if Magisna would follow him.

Magisna forced a smile.

The man stretched out his hand, offering help to lead her.

Magisna. It did not matter though that man would lead him towards his destruction. If he wanted to kill me, he wouldn't pull me out of the river, he thought positively.

The man led him along the banks of a river connected to an irrigation network in the residential area where Magisna lived.

He really drove her home.

All right, thought Magisna. He may not be human, but he's not a threat either.

Magisna arrived home safely.

Actually with Galang!

But with whoever you come home in good shape, everyone will say it safe.

It's not like that, is it?

"Open up!" You must have answered that.

"Never see me again" Galang rang with a smile before they parted.

Magisna returned her smile, thanked her and goodbye. Then he slid into his house.

The atmosphere in his house felt much quieter than the banks of the river. At least on the riverbank earlier he could still hear the sound of beasts and leaves rubbing against him.

The house is completely quiet.

Where did everybody go? Magisna wondered in her heart. Then check the whole house.

There's no one.

He finally gave up and rushed to his own room, soaking in the warm water and taking off his soaked clothes. Closing his eyes, permeating the sensation of warm water and the soft aroma of fruits from the soothing soap foam. Trying to forget for a moment all the riddles of the Fucking Writer who implicates himself into a crazy, nonsensical story.

The nerves in his body began to relax.

She pulled her body from the bathtub, put on her bathrobe and wrapped her hair in a towel. Walk out of the room and return to explore the rest of the house. He checked the garage to see his parents' vehicle.

There's only his mother's car and Magisna's motorcycle.

Magisna. How did that damn motorcycle get to the garage before me? He doesn't think out.

Who brought him home?

Her dad?

Her mom?

His neighbor?

Or the ghosts in the plantation area?

Magisna pressed a light switch near the door and stepped inside the garage to check her vehicle.

Some parts look dirty and scratched. Nothing seems to be broken, he thought. The key is still stuck in the hole.

The engine roared normally and immediately lit up.

One of his neighbors rushed to the gate and looked into the garage. "Mom Belva!" The thirty-year-old woman called.

Magisna turned off her motorcycle and approached their neighbors while developing a smile.

The other woman joined the first woman in a row. "Mom Belva is home?"

The first woman turned to the second woman and ignored Magisna.

"I don't know" the first woman looked confused. He looked up at the garage once again over Magisna's shoulder. "So I think I heard the sound of the motorbike" he said half-murmingly. "But there's nobody!"

Magisna frowned and looked at the two women with squinted eyes.

What the hell's going on?

Why do they not see me?

"Mom Desy, Miss Ika!" Magishna called out to her neighbors.

Both women ignored him.

"The door is open, Mom!" The young mother named Ikha pointed towards the front door of the Magisna house with a dramatic attitude.

"But the car is not there" the young mother, Desy, stood on her tiptoes and looked back into the garage.

Magisna watched the two while holding her breath. They really didn't see me, Magisna realized.

"That's Bu Belva's car in the garage!" Bu Ikha followed Bu Desy's gaze and pointed towards Magisna's mother's car with her chin.

"They're out in the Father's car, really!" Miss Desy insisted.

Am I really dead?

Am I a ghost?

"Mom Desy! Ika's mom!" Magisna raised her voice, calling once again the two women half-screamed.

The two women did not react.

No mistake, he said in his heart. They can't see me!

I've become a ghost.

I really am dead!

This story is over!

But bo'ong!!!

"Mom Belva!" Ms. Ikha called out while cupping her palm on the side of her mouth to form a funnel.

Magisna smothered her mouth with both hands, inched backwards and shook her head. His chin began to shake and his shoulders began to shake. Both knees felt shaky.

Ms. Desy reached into the gate, opened the door clasp and stepped into her yard. Ikha's mom followed him. "Mom Belva!" call the two together.

Magisna rushed towards Bu Desy and grabbed the woman by the shoulder. But his hand pierced through the woman's body.

Magisna screamed and dropped herself in the grass. He fell to his knees and started crying. Just as Dusk did when he found out he was already a ghost.

My fate is like Dusk, he thought bitterly. I'm a ghost too!

"There's nobody!" Bu Desy hissing agitatedly. Ikha ma'am pulled her hand.

"Udah, ah! Yuk, let's go. It's not good—there's no one!" insist on Bu Ikha.

Then the two women turned around and closed the gate.

"We're going to the hospital check, Yuk! Nengokin Neng Gisna!" Bu Ikha proposed.

"Yes, yuk!" timpal Bu Desy enthusiastic.

"But eyke took a shower first huh, BESTie!" said Ms. Ikha.

Ms. Desy brandished her thumb and index finger to form the letter O.

"Bring the cat!" Bu Ikha added while grinning.

Bu Desy brandished a fist.

Magisna gulped. Looking at the two women.

I'm starting to understand now, inner Magisna.

An empty house, a returned motorcycle…

The crash…

The accident took my life.

They found me!

And they're all in the hospital now!
