The Van Til House: STRAF SABBAT

The Van Til House: STRAF SABBAT
Chapiter 21

"Lexza's? Hendra?" call Magisna in the dark.

There's no answer. He crawled up onto the mound and looked sharply into the hole.

Total darkness.

In the beginning.

Magisna. Was he deceived by his vision?

The outline of his own white hand appeared to be sticking out on the background of the black ground in front of him.

He lifted her up and bent his fingers. The dirt and skeletons filled his knuckles.

Where did that light come from?

A hand landed on his shoulder.

Magisna screeched and spun, kicking wildly. The figure stood in front of him holding a dazzling white light.

Magisna screamed and clenched her eyes together.

"Go! Go!"

He swung his fist, but he didn't hit anything. The light is too bright.

"Eka!" hardik that voice, it sounded heavy and flat.

Magisna stopped screaming and opened her eyes. Through his dust and tears, he began to see a blurred figure. He blinked as his eyes began to get used to the glare.

Slowly, the figure began to enter into the focus of his vision.

Isa Sir!

In one hand he held a lantern used for camping. His perfect black suit looks crumpled and dirty. His lower lips were trembling in fear.

"You need to get out of here" he said stuttering. "Where are the others?"

"I don't know" said Magisna. "Dead. I don't know."

"What?" erang Pak Isa's. Shoulder slumped. "No!"

"There's something down here--" Magisna started talking.

"Quickly," sidelines Mr. Isa. "We have to go."

"But--"

The upper half of Hendra's body burst out of the mouth of the hole. He clawed at the ground and struck it with his fist, trying desperately to free himself.

"He.. nangkep cave!" his screams.

"Help him!" shouts Magisna to Pak Isa. He threw himself into the hole. Snatching Hendra's outstretched hand.

Isa put down the lantern and caught Hendra's other hand. More and more ground flooded them, collapsing from the ceiling. Hendra's head disappeared under the mound. All Magisna could see was his arm.

"He could suffocate!" shouted Isa.

"Worse than that" grumbled Magisna.

Hendra's head was finally freed from the avalanche. He vomited and breathed.

"Dapette!" magisna said, almost crying with relief.

Hendra's body came out free of the tunnel.

The three rolled off the mound and fell onto the cement floor.

"Where is he?" The magisna shrieked, as it spun towards the tunnel.

The deafening roar drowned his voice.

Behind them, a ton of wet ground collapsed from the ceiling. Tunnel mouth collapses.

"Skyet avalanche!" shout Magisna.

He had never seen an avalanche of land this much. Continues falling. He hit Pak Isa when he ran away.

The avalanche finally stopped.

"Udah is over" he shouted. "The fog's trapped!"

Magisna glared at the giant land in front of him. Less than a minute ago, he was on the other side of this wall, fighting death.

Here, he thought. Already done. The fog is trapped. Now we can get out of here!

Hendra groaned near Magisna's feet. Magisna and Isa helped him to his feet.

"What happened to Lexza?" ask Magisna.

Hendra swallowed with great difficulty. "He said!"

"What does it mean to be lost?" ask Mr. Isa. "Where is he? Where are the others?"

Hendra and Magisna exchanged a glance.

The headmaster's eyes narrowed. "What's going on down here?"

Pak Isa's face paled. The headmaster turned towards them. "Thirteen people... What are you talking about?"

Magisna stepped in front of Hendra before he exploded. "Dika, Novi, and Alexza iilang, sir," he said. "There's something—a kind of red mist or cloud, out of this room. He attacked them all and took them out of nowhere."

"Not to mention the thirteen skeletons behind this avalanche," Hendra added.

Isa raised his hand. "Wait a minute" as usual. "Tell me what really happened."

Magisna told the principal everything. How he fell into a hidden trap door. How Hendra heard the legends of the dead. How they touched the brick-until the wall exploded in front of them. How the red mist came out and dragged Dika away.

It tells everything—except message on the wall.

Isa looked at him. Mouth gaping. His eyes were empty, as if he were no longer there.

"Sir Is?" magisna.

Isa focused his eyes on Magisna. "Is this some kind of joke?" his hisses with his jaws tightened.

"What do you mean?" hardik Hendra was impatient.

Magisna put her hand on Hendra's shoulder. "Calm down" he warned.

Pak Isa issued a hard.

"I don't know what happened to you today. But I know you're not supposed to be here."

Magisna.

"You're blaming us?" Hendra grumbling.

"I'm sick of your behavior, Hendra!" hardik Pak Isa's.

"I'm sick of it too" replied Hendra. "I just want to get out of here. This whole place is crazy!"

"I'm the only one who can take you out" the headmaster said. "And I'll do it. once your friends join!"

"But, Pak—" Magisna tried to explain.

But a rumbling sound interrupted them. It sounded like coming straight through the concrete walls around them. The wall started to shake.

"What else now?" Hendra groaned in frustration.

"Your other jokes again?" Mr. Isa growled at Hendra.

The headmaster's words were cut off by the explosion of the ground. The mound exploded with terrifying strength.

Magisna felt herself drifting. Then hit the wall.

TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE...!

Along with that the sound of the bells clang many times.

Magisna wasn't sure how many times. He wasn't even sure what the bell was for?

White light danced before his eyes.

His mouth is full of soil. He vomited, rolling with his stomach. His fingers clawed at the rocky ground beneath his body.

He opened his eyes.

Hendra lay to his left and Mr. Isa to his right, both covered in mud.

The lamp was half-buried, the light was gloomy, but not extinguished.

Berton-ton land scattering. Magisna could see clearly behind the other room. Bones are lying everywhere. He removed the sand by rubbing his eyes, trying to focus his gaze. He rubbed his eyes, trying to find Alexza among the heaps of bones.

But what he saw made him screech with his heart almost exploding.

The red fog is free!

The bells on the grounds were clanging faster and faster. Who's ringing it? Isn't there no Centeng today?

A terrifying red wave spilled onto the ground. The foul-smelling air ambushed Magisna until she wanted to vomit.

"Wake up!" shout Magisna. He crawled across the ground towards Hendra.

Hendra coughed and tried to sit up straight. His eyes widened when he saw the fog. He jumped to his feet.

"Drop!" his orders. He grabbed Magisna's arm and pulled her towards the main tunnel.

"What is it?" shout Magisna.

Isa sir moved to hear his name called. He was looking for a lantern. He lifted her up and looked at the red mist.

"Impossible," he cried raucously.

"Run!" Hendra yells.

"He can attack us, sir!" Magisna explained, while grabbing the sleeve of Pak Isa's suit. "We have to go now!"

"I don't believe it" whispered Mr. Isa. "It's impossible."

Magisna tried to pull him, but he didn't want to move a bit. He stared at the red fog.
