The War Of Gemstone: Owl & Flower

The War Of Gemstone: Owl & Flower
Enjoy the Night Together

At home, only 14-year-old Faye and her mother live. He saw his mother every day was always busy experimenting in the workshop, finding various kinds of magic and recording them in books. His office is never empty. Piles of parchments and various magic equipment were scattered in his study. Sometimes his mother went to receive calls from various places. Some ask her mother to teach magic, make magic equipment or ask her to solve problems. Nael's busyness makes Faye even more lonely than before.

Faye was upset. Why do you have to do all that? Helping others. Solving a problem that doesn't even have anything to do with her mother.

When Faye asked her, Nael simply smiled and said, “Isn't this the thing to do, it's only natural that we help each other.”

One night, Nael sees her youngest child sitting hugging her feet while looking at the moon in her yard accompanied by a flock of owls whistling on a tree. His sparkling black hair waved in the wind. “Faye, what are you doing here?” Nael's voice sounded soft and soothing, like a cup of cream and honey. He stepped out of the house, approaching the princess.

“No.”

Nael stood next to him. His eyes were on his daughter. “What Faye does not play with her friends?”

“I have no friends.” Faye answered without looking at her mother.

Upon seeing her that night, Nael realized that her daughter had probably been more lonely than she had lost her loved ones. Faye had always seen him learn magic without being able to practice it. Never went out of the house because of shame and fear of being ridiculed by other children who are more master of magic than him. Nael himself is always busy and focused on his magic so he never spends time with his youngest daughter.

Nael follows the gaze of his daughter who is staring at the moon. “Does Faye like to see the moon?” He sat next to his daughter.

Faye nodded small. “I like the color of the moon. Very pretty.”

Nael laughed and smiled. “The month is beautiful. Mom also likes.”

Just then, the wild thoughts of the children filled the curiosity in his little heart. Faye asked her mother, “Actually what is the moon? And why does it look like the sun?"

“That month is a friend of Mom,” replied Nael.

The girl looked. Confused face.

“Mother has an interesting story about the moon. Faye wants to hear it?”

Without needing an answer from her daughter, Nael knows that Faye is interested and eager to hear it. The girl just pretended not to be interested by taking her eyes off.

“A long time ago, there were two brothers in a faraway land. The Moon and the Sun. The moon has a name. Her name is beautiful and very admired by people. Her name is Eyana. While the name of the Sun is more impressed warm and strong, Eldi. They used to have a soul and body like humans, but because the world was still filled with darkness, Eldi sacrificed himself to be a light to mankind. Everyone was not saddened by Eldi's departure, but grateful and happy because Eldi continued to shine on them with a warm light in the sky. Eyana envied her brother who became the idol of the people. Eyana also misses Eldi who was always with her before becoming the sun. Then, he turned his form into a second light. The light of Eyana is not as bright and warm as the light of her brother. Cooler and dreary. However, it was the light that gave peace to the people in the darkness - where the light of Eldi could not reach him. Together, they help each other look after humanity and always give happiness.”

Faye was silent to her mother's story. His mother's smile was as bright as the moon that night. Faye understood that her mother was the moon who longed for the warmth of the sun. Despite losing a loved one, his mother can still smile. Forgetting the pain that cannot be treated.

“Oh, you know, that Eyana is a man as well as a woman. When she was with Eldi she would be a cold and gentle woman, but when there was no Eldi by her side, she would be a-” Nael continued before being cut off.

“Are you not afraid?” Faye mutters.

“Sorry?” Nael reveals her hair that covers her ears. He put his ears closer together to hear more clearly.

Nael clutched his daughter tightly as if unwilling to let go. “Of course Mom is scared. I can't imagine losing the people I love anymore.” He loosened his arms and looked Faye in the eye. “Because of that Mother will always take care of you and your brothers no matter how far they are.”

“Can I promise.” The girl looked up at her mother's face. He pointed his little finger forward. “I'm not interested in magic anymore. I don't have any friends either. So can you promise to always play with me?”

Nael hooks his little finger to Faye's finger. “Of course,” he said with a smile.

4 Years later, Faye grows up to be a beautiful girl like her mother. Looking at the moon every night is like an obligation for him. Now that Nael is no longer busy with his magic, he spends some of his time accompanying his daughter. Nael always told his stories and silly things to his daughter. Bring Faye's favorite almond cookies while sipping warm chamomile tea. Faye's favorite story is when her mother used to travel to meet amazing things along the way. Faye is no longer practicing magic, she is enjoying her life with her mother. However, Nael is very happy and proud, seeing Faye now often smiles sweetly and is always open to him. The more time spent together makes the girl more expressive than ever.

Faye sat in the grass quietly under the moonlight. “What is your job done?”

Next to her, Nael sat down and crossed her legs. “Live one more. Country in the west needs help Mom.”

Faye lowered her head, her lips curving downwards.

Nael's warm hands coiled around his daughter's shoulders, “This time, I promise. After that we can be together again.” He leaned his head against Faye's head while rubbing her shoulders. “There is one place that I want to visit, he said the view of the moon there is more beautiful with colorful flowers and far from the settlement. We can move there and stay there quietly.”

“Really?” The girl's eyes lit up.

“Of course.”

Together they enjoy the moonlight. The cold night wind waving their hair. The chirping of owls perched on tree branches and the sound of crickets enlivened the atmosphere of the night. The longer the owl chirped, Nael's forehead began to wrinkle. “A annoying voice.” The woman got up. His face was irritated and his hands clenched. From his fist came a turbulent blue light.

Faye clasped her mother's hand. “Do not! That owl chirp calms me down.” He tried to calm his mother's anger.

Her daughter's delicate little hand made the woman melt. He breathed, trying to calm down. The woman smiled and rubbed Faye's head. “Alright, I won't do it.” He knelt beside the girl. “As apology. I'll make you something.” Nael held out both of her palms face up in front of her chest. White light particles slowly appeared concentrated in his palm. The warm light shone on Faye's face. The light fused together and arranged a figure in his palm bit by bit. Then created an owl figure with snow-white feathers.

Eyes round. Its small beak curved and its claws protruded from behind the feathers of its feet. The bird snores when Faye rubs her soft belly feathers. The girl chuckled as the bird jumped on her shoulder.

“You like?” Nael sits on his heels. “You can name it,” said.

The girl stroked the bottom of the bird's beak, “Then I will call you Rue.

Her daughter's happiness is something she would like to see more than anything else on earth. He doesn't want anything else, just one. Nael got up and folded his hand. “Faye, you are now an adult. You have to be open to others and make as many friends as you can. Your friend will replace Mom when you feel lonely.” Her mother said as if she would never be with Faye again.

The girl looked up. The smile on his face faded away. “What does Mother mean? Don't talk about anything weird.”

“Because you have trouble finding friends. Then this owl will choose someone who suits you, who is loyal to you, who loves you, who accepts you for who you are and regards you as the place where he is accepted. You have to do good with your friends and your friends will do good to you. Protect them, take care of them as the most precious thing to you and do not force the desire of your friend, because it is not good. I'm sure Faye will definitely get good friends.”

Faye bowed, her lips tightly shut. He felt a strange thing in every word that came out of his mother's lips. Nael bowed and kissed the girl on the forehead and stepped inside the house, leaving Faye speechless with Rue in the middle of the night.
