A fragrant aroma filled the air in the vestibule, mingling with a puff of smoke, arousing the appetite of anyone who breathed it. Warm plates are served on a square table, complete with forks and spoons. The scent that filled Faye's nose came from a warm mushroom soup. Purple cut of lavender flowers adorn the surface of button mushrooms floating in the sea of cream. The button mushrooms are cut thin with neatness and precision, revealing a unique curved pattern on the mushroom meat.
Peppercorns that have a sharp aroma and the fragrant aroma of Lavender placed above create a mixture of unusual scents. As a companion, Archie makes onion bread polished with butter and sprinkled with parsley powder.
Saliva flowed along with Rynn's unceasing eyes staring at the presenting beauty of Archie. Not to forget Archie also provides Faye's favorite chamomile tea, but he added something different for this time.
First of all, Faye inhales the warm aroma of the tea, familiarizing her sense of smell to blend in with the identity of the tea which is still mysteriously radiated through its aroma. After that, Faye placed her sweet lips on the edge of the white cup. While weaning the tea, Faye still felt the distinctive taste of the soothing chamomile but mixed with other sweet and slightly sour flavors, creating an unbearable experience of happiness while enjoying the tea. The stimulation of tea on his sense of smell and taste makes Faye continue to enjoy every sip slowly.
“I added orange squeeze in it.” Archie spread out the white napkin he always carried and inserted the tip into the collar of his coat.
“It's better than before,” Faye said.
With hunger constantly overflowing, Rynn took the onion bread, tore it apart and smashed the edge of his bread into the mushroom soup.
A sense of happiness was clearly on the girl's face. Little by little, pieces of bread melted in Rynn's stomach, filling her hunger. “I haven't had a good meal in a long time.” Rynn's head swayed in excitement left and right, like a dandelion blown by the wind.
“Pelan-pelan just eat it. Nobody's gonna steal it.” Unlike Rynn, Archie who comes from a noble family uses a knife and fork to slice and enjoy the warmth that is stuck in the middle of the bread.
“I don't think you're good at cooking.”
“Although in my house my waiter who always makes dishes, but I will be underestimated and so people talk if you can not cook a simple dish like this.”
“The cruelty of living nobility,” chirps Rynn.
The Black Knight then opened up a bit of his head protection, revealing his open mouth and stuffing his first mouthful. This is perfect, the knight's mind. The blend of two different realms creates an amazing dish - mushrooms and seasonings found in the forest and fresh fish from warm waters. He even dared to admit that even the greatest cook in Grandell could not create a dish like this.
Everyone was frozen still like a statue, not because of Archie's food, but for the first time the Black Knight showed Faye and the others a part of his face even though only his mouth was visible.
Rynn was most surprised among the others, because the girl thought that the Black Knight did not have a human body, only the armour could move. “Her cup Blackie also has a body!?”
“You think uncle knight what? Ghost?” wonder Archie.
The girl ignored Archie's words, and asked the Black Knight, “If you have a real body, how come you never let go of your armor?”
With a heavy and firm voice, the man said, “Danger is always everywhere, we must always be vigilant and prepared at any time.”
“Then, remove the head protector only.”
“Keeping privacy is also important for knights, you know that the enemy is after me? It would be very dangerous if the enemy caught you and scraped my neighbor's information from you.”
Rynn no longer cared about his delicacy, he placed his hands on the knight's headguard and tried to take it off, but the loyal knight in guarding his honor would not be so easy as to let his privacy unfold. The Black Knight held back his head protection from being let go. The table swayed and the chair fell down as Rynn and the Black Knight fought each other's stand.
While Archie paid no heed to the commotion in front of him, calmly devouring his food despite the shaking of his soup plate.
Not so long since Faye missed her family, the warm atmosphere in the room reminded her of her sister's quarrel that happened every morning, at the same time and the same trivial problems. The memories made her little heart grieve but made her happy to be able to feel this warmth the second time, even with new people in her life.
