The War Of Gemstone: Owl & Flower

The War Of Gemstone: Owl & Flower
The Destiny of the Witch Princess

Nael returns from his journey to meet King Erlobad. He brought gifts for his daughter in the form of a black robe with a hood that resembles the head of an owl and two long feathers that adorn the head. At the bottom of the robe is made tapered like the wings of a bird. Faye fingers enjoy every fine seam made as comfortable as possible. “The robe suits you,” Nael said happily when she saw her daughter wearing the robe.

The next day, on a sunny morning, Faye brought a warm cup of tea and drove him to Nael's magic workshop. In the dark room, there was only a candlelight that faintly illuminated the corner of the room. Faye circled a shelf full of books, towards the table where Nael was busy doing things.

“What Mom doesn't feel well?” ask the girl when she sees her mother massaging her forehead.

“Oh Faye?” The woman immediately placed a jewel in a wooden box. He leaned his body so that Faye could not see. “Tak what. Mom just thinks too much.” He stretched his hand and twisted his neck. “Please move the bottle of the herb on the shelf over there.” His finger pointed at the wooden shelf attached to the wall.

Faye took out a bottle with a bright blue liquid, then placed it on a wooden shelf. The potion contained the same energy as the jewel Nael had hidden from Faye. Nael makes gems and potions that are not without reason.

As Nael took a breath, he smelled the scent of burning wood infiltrating the room. His heart is beating fast. The woman immediately ran into the front room. His eyes were looking around, trying to find something. He ran to the kitchen, but no one in his house created the scent. The stove and fireplace were extinguished long before the burning smell appeared. Nael breathes a sigh of relief.

But the scent still poked his nose, he came out of the house followed by his daughter. Their eyes are wide. Their mouths were speechless as the view of the sea of fire like hell engulfed the Hope Village. Cries for help were heard all over the village. “What happened?” faye's voice vibrated. He's sitting limp.

Nael's gaze was on a number of citizens who were seen using their magic to fight something. Some residents tried to put out the fire and others helped the trapped people. He narrowed his eyes. A banner bearing the image of a five-headed dragon was revealed as the wind swept through the smoke blocking his vision. “Tenebrum!?” The woman growled. “That damn king!”

A group of soldiers attack and kill the villagers, destroying their homes, and their beautiful gardens are crushed underfoot. A fierce resistance arises between the villagers who have mastered magic and the warriors of Tenebrum. With their high fighting spirit and great magic ability, they managed to repel the enemy soldiers. Several warriors were scrambling everywhere, destroying their own formations.

Behind the blazing flames, a soldier with a red coat pierced through the ash fog and buried his sword at the citizens one by one. Another red-coated soldier appeared and took care of it. Their abilities were so great, that the village sorcerers were overwhelmed.

On top of the hill, Nael saw the figure behind the vicious attack, the one who commanded them, was King Erlobad. He clenched his hand. His face looked terrible when angry. Anger overflowed, a strong pressure of strength emanated from his body which made Faye's neck shudder.

Nael called out his magic broom from nothingness. “Faye, Mom go first.” He flew so fast that he tore through the grass and left a crack in the ground.

Faye was driven by the wind that blew her mother away. His hands are still shaking. He was confused and worried, not knowing what to do. But he would regret it if he just kept quiet and did nothing.

In the air, Nael jumped off his broom and hit the ground with incredible force. He touched his hand to the ground, a blue light appeared and created waves of water that spread to drown the flames, waves of water that passed through the citizens and sealed their bleeding. The survivors immediately fled as far away as possible. The Hill of Hope might not have been a wise decision to secure themselves, let alone the daughter of the magician not having any magic power to protect them.

A red-coat warrior with long, unraveling white hair appeared before Nael. His smile was as slick as a snake. “Greetings, Great Witch. I-”

Nael flew his broom towards the white-haired man before finishing his speech. The end of the broom handle pushed the man's body to the point of bouncing into the residents' homes. The other red-coated soldiers came to attack Nael, but Nael had no trouble fighting them.

King Erlobad arrogantly came to Nael who was busy fighting. “We meet again, Mrs Venefika.”

“King Erlobad! Why are you doing this!?”

“This is because you refused to help me make magic gems. If you make magic gems for me, then this won't happen.”

The woman growled. “The jewel has a power that no one should have. Great power is too dangerous to be possessed by you.”

“How about your strength? Didn't you ever say it's not good to master great power for yourself? I believe you must not have taught all the magic you have to people.”

Nael. King Erlobad's words were wrong, Nael only taught some of his strength not because he wanted to master for himself, but because man was unable to pass through his capacity.

“If you want to face me, you don't need to involve the villagers.”

“No, the villagers are a small sacrifice to a great power. Once I get it I'll be the king of this world.” King Erlobad raised his sword into the air, pointing at the sky.

“Because of that, I can't let you have Magic Gems. If you dare to pollute the land where my daughter lives, I will kill you!”

The man then raised his sword forward. Dozens of Tenebrum soldiers ran towards Nael with guns ready in their hands.

“Ck.” Nael clicked his tongue. He gathered magic energy in both of his hands. The red hot light slowly gathered. Then Nael swatted forward towards the enemy, a wave of extremely hot flames bursting fiercely from his hands, burning the soldier in front to ashes.

Nael was supposed to be able to break away from the chain with his power, but the chain magic they used absorbed Nael's magic energy and power by a large amount to make him fall limp. “This power?” Nael glanced at the man in the middle, he could not see his face because it was covered in a hood. “How can you have a Roal Gem?”

The Roal Gem is one of the 9 Magic Gems. The gem can absorb other forces and store them.

The man just grinned, not answering.

The king approached the helpless Nael. The woman could barely cast her magic because of the chain. In the distance, the black haired girl ran towards him and shouted, “Mother!” He paused as his eyes were fixed on the horror before him, a true scene of hell. Flowers and grass are bathed in red. The fire that burned the houses. The bodies that were no longer shaped lay all over the place. The girl held her mouth that was about to vomit with her hands.

“Faye? Don't come here.”

The king caught Faye, and his arms wrapped around the girl's trembling body. Erlobad pointed his sword at Faye's neck, “So this is your daughter who can't use that magic? I can't believe the Great Witch has a disabled child like you.”

Nael tried to let go of his arm. “How dare you touch my daughter, Erlobad!” His anger filled his strength. He smashed the chains that bound him then darted his hand towards Erlobad's head. Nael then pushed Erlobad's head into the ground violently, killing him instantly, but Nael could not avoid a pointy sword with a golden handle piercing through his stomach. In his final seconds Erlobad managed to stab Nael. Faye's heart stopped beating at the sight of blood rushing from her mother's stomach, and her mother's mouth spewed out an awful lot of blood. Nael slowly approached Faye staggered. Faye immediately ran to help her mother, then she laid her mother on her lap. “Faye you have to run from here.” The woman grimaced.

“I don't want to. I want to be with Mom,” said Faye with tears flooding her face.

Nael smile. “You do like to stick to Mom.”

Nael then conjures up a magic light that moves himself and Faye in an instant to his magic workshop inside the house. Faye tore off her mother's cloak and pressed the wound so that the blood wouldn't come out. His breath was weak, and his eyes were pale.

“Faye, please grab the wooden box on the Mother's table. Take the contents and bring it here.”

Faye laid her mother's body slowly on the floor, then she obeyed her mother's orders, and she immediately took the box containing a necklace with a dark blue gem. Night seal but as bright as the moon. Faye's heart hopes that this is the way to save her mother. He asked nothing, complained nothing. If this necklace can help her mother, then she must obey her mother. Faye sat on her heels next to Nael and gave her the necklace.

Nael held the necklace to his chest. A golden light appeared and filled the necklace then vanished. “How? Is your wound healed?” faye asked worriedly.

The woman groaned. His blood was seeping out. Faye tore the robe again. He added a cloth to press the wound while looking around for other objects that could be used. “What happened? Why is Mom's wound getting worse?” The girl panicked. “Does the magic not work?” Her tears trickled down and fused with the pool of blood on the floor.

Nael smiled palely. His hand touched the girl's wet cheek. “Happy birthday, Faye. This is your gift when you turn 17. The 10th jewel. Better I give it now.” He then put the necklace on his daughter's neck.

Nael created the last jewel only for his daughter, the 10th Jewel, the Jewel of Venice. As the name implies, Nael channeled his magic energy into the gem. The gem that makes its users can use magic, as weak and as small as its users. With this, Nael has granted his daughter's deepest wish, long buried in grief and despair, to be able to use magic.

The girl was confused. He pressed his prank. “I don't care about birthday gifts. Mother's Wound how?”

“Mother has run out of magic energy.” The woman's hand swept over the tears flowing profusely on her daughter's face. “Nothing Faye, stay alive. I've already marked the location for you to teleport. Get out of here right away. Protect the gem, no matter what happens lest they have it.” Her body was cold as ice, but the blood that permeated the girl's skirt was warm. “All will surely be fine, Faye.”

“Don't go, stay here. How about Mom's appointment?” Faye's voice was cut off by her cries, weak and small. “Mom will always enjoy the month with me, right?”

The woman's hand slowly went limp and finally fell down. His eyes closed, and he breathed one last time. Nael's body slowly disappears into a warm glow, and the Great Witch's life ends. Lost in his daughter's arms. He left his necklace as his last memory.

The sound of crying and teardrops filled the dark room. The poor lonely girl squeezed her skirt, enduring the pain in her little heart. When the last drop fell onto the floor of the house, a blue light emerged from the necklace he was wearing. In the blink of an eye, the girl and the rest of the house teleport and find themselves in a distant, alien forest. The intense shaking during the teleportation process made the furniture of the house and small objects fall apart. The bottle that holds the blue potion fell and broke, draining the liquid into the ground until it was mixed with the water pool and became a famous magic pool. The blue liquid was also absorbed by the roots of a large tree.

While the girl was unconscious, resting after facing the painful. The girl had a dream, a very long dream. A dream where she and her mother are together in a white and beautiful world. Happy together without getting tired, without knowing the time, and without knowing the reality. Then came a small white light that instantly called out to the sleeping girl. Finally, the girl woke up from her dream prison. The white light that called out to him was Rue, a White Owl perched staring at him on the table. From within her body, the girl felt a huge energy flowing. Those streams of energy appeared as he wore the necklace his mother gave him.

The girl changed, returning to her lonely self. His face was cold and his tears were drying up. He got up and walked out of the dark room, wearing his mother's black robe, and stepped out of the house with his little hand clutching a necklace of jewels around his neck. “I'll take care of it.”

It was a cold, quiet and sad night. Don't know what to do, when I feel like the only soul in this free realm. Abandoned by her only hope, left alone by those with whom she had blood ties. Although he fell asleep once more, the happiness he got from his dream, was as empty as his heart at the moment.

Hovering among the stars, just above him, the moon mourns the passing of her relatives. When the moon vows to light up the night, there's not much he can do but give it peace. The light that he radiates is brighter than usual, will not fade by anything and continue to overshadow the precious legacy beneath. The girl moved, trying to let go and look at the moon in the night sky with her faithful white owl.
