Foiled Attempt

“Sir, do you work all night again?”

As he was about to start his work that day, Albert found his employer still taking care of the pile of documents on his desk with tired eyes. The clothes Forde was wearing did not change from the night he saw her. Albert took a breath.

“You know that I can't sleep too long. Rather than wasting time, wouldn't it be better to work on what isn't finished?” forde said without looking.

“You have just returned from the labyrinth conquest mission, it would be better if you rest longer.”

“…”

“Tuanku..”.

Albert was already used to the habits of his employer who worked endlessly. But this time he felt an unusual deja’vu and the thing that came to his mind was about Leana.

Seeing his employer unmoved, Albert began his duties that day by helping to take care of documents piled up on another desk.

He felt the demand from each region continued to grow relentlessly as time went on.

If he could borrow Leana's strength, perhaps they could more quickly complete the pile of documents.

But her employer insisted on taking over all the documents regarding Grandall by herself.

He knew that Forde loved his wife dearly but seeing his self-imposing employer could only make his followers anxious.

He always hoped that his employer would understand the feelings of those who were worried about his existence.

Amid the demands of hope that has not been achieved, Forde opened his voice.

“Is today that butler going back to Alphiella?”

Albert looked at Forde, who was staring out the window. There he could see several horse carriages parked in front of the door of the Grandall residence.

“Iya. Looks like today is the day he returns to Alphiella. From what I heard, only Adde and one other person now take care of the Alphiella.” mansion Albert explained.

“If that's the case, I can send people to work there.”

“Sorry my master, but the mistress insists on choosing everyone who takes care at Alphiella.”

“Is it... Hm?”

At that moment Forde realized something. He found his wife talking to Adde in front of a horse-drawn carriage.

If seen again, his clothes look very neat like they want to go outside. He felt an awkwardness.

“Why is my wife out so early?”

Albert realized that today was still quite early morning with the fog that filled the park area. He also found it strange to find Leana that early there.

“Tempo then I was told that the madam will go to the city today.”

“This spring?”

“On that, I know less but the mistress said she wanted to take an order in the city.” Albert gasped as Forde gave him a sharp look.

“Should he go straight to pick it up? Why not just send someone?”

“Sorry my lord, I also do not know. If the madam is planning to pick it up herself, perhaps the item in the message is very important.

Increasingly sensing that something was amiss, Forde immediately got up from his chair and walked out of the study quickly. 

The surprised Albert immediately put the document in his hands and followed Forde's steps.

“Tuanku!? Where are you going?!”

“Pick up my wife.” Forde said in a slightly heavy tone. Albert then began to pray that something bad would not happen in the future.

Adde pinched his wrinkled forehead because he was tired of having to face problems in the morning blind. In front of her was standing Leana who was dressed neatly like she was ready to go to Alphiella with her.

Irritated, Adde asked as if he did not know while forcing himself to smile.

“Mistress, what do you do?”

“Isn't it clear? Of course to Alphiella!”

“Have you told this to marquis?”

“I've told Albert that I will go to town to shop today.”

Albert took a breath and covered his face with one hand. He did not doubt the strength of his master but this time he felt a sense of foreboding was not good with his current actions.

He stole a glance at the window of the workspace that lit up from when he saw it coming out of the mansion. His stomach is now turning.

Adde immediately grabbed Leana's left arm and grasped it firmly. If as a butler he does not succeed then at least he wants to plead as his partner who is likely to face problems.

“Mrs Leana. I insist on advising you to stay. I will promise to immediately send the magic tool to you without delay.”

“I have finalized my plan to go to Alphiella today, if we do not leave soon then this plan will fail!”

“Kem.ba.li.lah!”

Leana clasped back with the same hand and the two strengthened each other's grasp as if testing their strength. Then a familiar voice sounded not far from them.

“What are you doing so early, Leana?”

Leana and Adde immediately turned towards the entrance of the mansion and found Forde walking towards them followed by Albert behind him. The two turn pale with the uninvited guest, especially Leana.

Sensing a sharp look towards her, Adde immediately pulled his hand from Leana.

While Leana was startled and started to panic, Adde closed his eyes and prayed in his heart. Both of them greeted Forde

“Good morning, Marquis.”

“Fo, Forde, what are you doing here?”

“I saw my wife was outside so early so I tried to pick her up.”

Hearing this, Leana's heart panicked.

“Is something wrong?” Leana began to sweat coldly and Adde continued to pray for the safety of the employer beside her.

“Nothing..” Leana averted her gaze.

“I see you're dressed very well. Where are you going so early?”

“It.. i..”.

“If you don't have the need to get out, how about we go back into the mansion? I don't want you to get cold out here.”

Leana immediately looked at Albert behind Forde for his help but he just closed his eyes and looked away.

He may not be able to look at Adde but he knows that Adde, who was silent earlier, did not plan to help him out of the matter. Leana condemned the current situation.

Not getting an answer from Leana, Forde immediately approached her and raised her body.

Leana froze in shock and belatedly realized that her body was already being carried like a princess.

“It looks like my wife is blocking your departure so I'll take her away. Be careful on your journey, Adde.”

‘Quick get out of here. Soon.’ It was a message Adde received from Forde's view of him.

“I understand. Thank you, Marquis.” He quickly prepared.

Forde immediately moved, bringing Leana into his arms, followed by Albert. From inside the car, Adde can see Leana who seems to be aware and immediately asks to be dropped off.

‘Dumb bases..’ Adde just sighed and enjoyed his trip back to Alphiella.
