Chapter 40's

Karina is seen tidying up the meeting room chair and Crystal is helping out. While tidying up, Karina's eyes glanced at Damian who was also with the two of them in the room. Damian was seen standing still and watching them with a piercing flat face.

Karina approached Crystal and whispered in the girl's ear. "Letta, who is she?" asked Karina in such a small voice.

Crystal glanced at the direction Karina's eyes were pointing at Damian. "Mrs. Duanovic gave me a personal bodyguard after the events of the day." Crystal and Karina answered, nodding.

"Name Damian. Damian was ordered to take care of me wherever and whenever." he added.

Karina still nodded in understanding. "So what exactly do you have to do with Mr. Duanovic so he protected you so much?" asked Karina again with her curious face.

"I don't have any relationship. I just work for him." replied Crystal who of course was not trusted by Karina.

"In that case, why would he bother giving personal bodyguards to subordinates who have nothing to do with him?" asked Karina with a probing look.

"Just ask him" Crystal said as she relaxedly shuddered.

Karina snorted in annoyance because Crystal still did not tell her. Karina wasn't that stupid to instantly believe her nonsensical words. Karina was sure the girl must have been hiding something.

Suddenly the sound of the door opening sounded and instantly resuscitated them. Suddenly the two girls turned to the source of the voice that showed the figure of a man who entered the meeting room.

"Welcome Mr. Killian, please come in." said Karina reflexively walked up to the man and led him to the seat that had been provided.

Crystal stood still as she gazed towards the man who was summoned as 'Mr. Killian. Karina lowered her head for a while, then pulled Crystal's hand out of the room.

Damian followed along wherever Crystal went. After arriving outside the room, Karina grabbed onto Crystal's shoulder tightly.

"I have to take care of some other things before the meeting starts. You go back to Mr. Duanovic alone." said Karina.

Crystal nodded in understanding, then Karina immediately left with a quick step.

Crystal stood quietly in front of the door of the room with a plain face. A few minutes the girl just stood like a statue without moving a single bit after Karina left from there.

"I don't want to meet that guy" he suddenly spoke to me.

Crystal turned to Damian and looked at the man. "I'm not going back to his room. At least if I stay with you I won't get in trouble?" crystal said looking into Damian's eyes deeply, while the man just silently did not understand.

"I didn't go alone, I went with you. The man shouldn't be mad because I don't intend to run away." crystal said again like a possessed person who spoke to himself but his eyes looked at Damian who did not understand the direction of the girl's conversation.

"The man must be busy with his work. I have to do it today." added the girl again with a confident expression, then pulled Damian's hand to leave from there.

But unfortunately the man did not move at all when the girl pulled his hand. The man was still in his place with a calm face.

Crystal looked at Damian with an annoyed face. "Come on!" he said scowling while tugging at the man's hand with all his might, but the man did not wince from his place at all.

Crystal snorted because the energy he put out was useless to the man in front of him. Finally the girl slammed Damian's hand upset and resigned.

"I want to make an offer with you." Crystal looked at Damian with a serious face.

Damian just kept silent and stared back at the girl in front of him fixedly. "Take me to a place, in return I will grant whatever you ask for as long as I can fulfill it. How's it?" crystal looked at Damian expectantly.

"You can't go anywhere without Mr.'s permission. Duanovic." Damian said coldly.

"Ck, therefore, this will only be a secret for both of us. She won't know it." Crystal said persuading the man with all her might.

"I will only carry out the orders of Mr. Duanovic."

Crystal rolled her eyes lazily hearing Damian's words again like a robot that had been set to obey his master's orders only.

Damian stared coldly at the girl's hand, then raised his head to stare at Crystal inside. Crystal looked speechless and realized her stupidity right then and there.

'Crystal stupid. You can't drive a stupid car.' In her heart the girl cursed her own stupidity with a riled face.

"If you don't want to give me the keys to the car, lend me the money to take the taxi, I'll definitely return it." Crystal looked at Damian with a nervous face and an awkward tone.

"You can't go anywhere without me" said Damian staring at Crys with an indisputable stern look.

Crystal lowered her hand with a face that suddenly turned sad. The girl's face looked pretty and looked down at the floor she was on.

"I have to see someone. Today is my chance to get out for a while. I beg you to help me today or I don't know when an opportunity like this will come again." Crystal lifted her head to look at Damian's eyes fixed with her eyes sparkling with hope.

Damian stared fixedly at the girl's eyes that looked radiant and radiated full hope at her. The girl can only hope that Damian can change his mind and turn to help her.

Damian was silent for a moment and finally raised his voice. "Just 30 minutes and we go after Mr. Duanovic went into the meeting room" said Damian, who managed to make Crystal's eyes round and his lips smiling with pleasure.

"Finally." Crystal involuntarily shouted out pleasure while jumping a little. Crystal's eyes suddenly caught several men walking hand in hand in their neat clothes.

Crystal is convinced that it was Kenzo's co-workers who will be meeting today. "Let's get out of here!" Crystal pulls Damian's hand to get away from it and miraculously the man no longer lives in a place like a rock.

"Do you think I should go to that guy's room first before he goes to a meeting?" ask Crys.

"As far as you are." Damian answered briefly.

"If I hadn't gone to his room, would he have come looking for me? If he's looking for me, he might lock me in his room for going out too long" she said.

Damian took Crystal's hand from his hand. Crystal stared at Damian with a questioning face. "I can walk alone." he said flatly. Crystal smiled understandingly and nodded small. The girl again walked down the corridor with Damian walking behind her.

Crystal gets into an open elevator, followed by Damian. After the door of the iron box was closed, a silent atmosphere immediately enveloped the two humans of the opposite type.

None of them opened their voices and just stood still while waiting.

"Do you have a family?" tanya Crys suddenly opened her voice and broke the silence.

"No."

Crystal who heard that short answer instantly fell silent. In his heart, Crystal could feel what Damian was feeling.

"Sister or Brother? Or lovers?" ask Crystal again.

"Nothing" Damian replied again.

"I have an older brother and he is the only family I have. Both my parents are dead. My mother died to save me and my father died to save us all." Crystal took a breath as she felt a sense of heaviness in her chest as she retold her life.

"My brother worked desperately for me. I realized that I was the heaviest burden of his life. After Papa Mama died, I was willing to work and leave my teenage life to support us. He only worked and worked while his other friends played and spent their youth happily." Unknowingly Crystal's initially teary eyes, now began to shed a tear running down her cheek.

The girl hurriedly rubbed her cheeks and eyes so that Damian would not take her for a whiny.

"Thank you for helping me out today" Crystal said again after taking a deep breath and trying to toughen up because now is not the time to cry.

While Damian had only been staring at Crystal's back with an incomprehensible look.
