Chapter 56's

Duanovic's Mansion | 02.47 PM

Crystal looked at the figure of Damian who had just walked out of Levin's workroom while standing towering in the middle of the corridor. Crystal was eager to talk to the man again, but it was obvious that Damian was avoiding him.

The man acted like he never knew her. Crystal could only stand stiff when Damian passed by so coldly.

Crystal looked back with a disappointed look to see Damian's back getting further away from her sight.

"I know you're no longer my bodyguard, but why stay away from me like this?" inner Crys with weakened shoulders.

Crystal threw a sigh of resignation, then turned back her body and was surprised instead of playing when Levin was already standing in front of her with such a close distance to her.

"Why did you suddenly appear like a ghost?" crys asked irritatedly as she stroked the part of her heart that was about to jump.

Levin was silent and stared fixedly at Crystal's face with a sharp look. "You didn't even notice my arrival because you were busy watching it" Levin said coldly.

Crystal gulped his saliva rough. "I didn't notice Damian" he said evasively.

"You want to fool me, hmm?" challenge Levin, then raise his hand to pinch the Crystal cheek that looks a little full.

"A..aaa.aww." ringis Crys while hitting Levin's arm with a pouting face.

Levin smiled faintly, then let go of the pinch. Crystal stroked her painful cheek while looking at Levin sharply.

"You also want to call me here so I can cross paths with Damian?" cibir Crystal was annoyed with her sharp squinting eyes.

Levin raised his hand, then rubbed the girl's red cheeks gently. "You're getting smart." he praised with a satisfied smile.

Crystal snorted at Levin's satisfied expression after which he pushed Levin's hand from his cheek.

"Your hands smell like cigarettes" said Crystal, noticing the smell she disliked from Levin's hands.

Crystal walks into Levin's office, followed by the man behind her.

"It seems you like smoking these days" Crys said, smelling the smoke in the man's room.

Crystal walked towards the window, then opened the tightly closed window.

"Don't open!" levin said he didn't like it, but Crys didn't heed the man's words.

"When you smoke, you have to open the window so that clean air comes in to replace the dirty air in here."

"I don't like bright rooms" said Levin, who doesn't like to see his room now bright because of the incoming sunlight.

"Stop smoking in a closed room!" ketus Crystal sharp.

He walked towards Levin's desk with a probing look. He looked at the cigarette butt disposal ashtray on the man's desk. Crystal shook her head in astonishment, then turned to Levin.

"Stop damaging your own body!" scour Crystal with a dislike tone.

Levin stared into the eyes of Crys who was nagging him, then stepped closer to the girl until their distance was very close. Crystal who immediately got a bad signal, hurriedly took a step back, then walked behind the table so that now their distance was separated by Levin's desk.

Levin raised his eyebrows when he found Crystal's playful response away from him.

"And stop being pervert!" again with an annoyed face.

Levin chuckled, then walked towards Crys who was in front of his chair. Crystal walked around the table to get away from Levin and now their positions were swapping places.

The alert Crystal, instantly relaxed back as Levin sat in his study chair. Crystal stood with her body firmly in front of Levin's desk, while Levin took a file inside his drawer, then handed it over in front of Crys.

Crys's forehead frowned. "This what?" crys asked in surprise when Levin handed the file to her. Levin did not reply, he simply coded by pointing at the file using his eyes.

"I don't understand." Crystal looked at the document in frustration.

"That document was the cause of your parents' death."

Crystal was surprised not to play. How could these documents be the cause of his parents' death.

"That's your father's research into making a chip he created. His research was widely praised by investors, but not many dared to invest their money because the chips were considered very dangerous, some even many opposed."

Crystal could see a chip-like image in the documents.

"Until Kenzo and Desmond decided to invest in the project 12 years ago."

"Desmond? The one who kidnapped my brother?" tanya Crystal raised her head with a surprised face.

"Yes. You met him at the office. The day Kenzo looks so angry when you meet a guy in the meeting room."

Crystal turned her memory. He only met one man at the time. Ah, he remembered - Mr. Killians. Crystal was more and more shocked with her mouth open, it turned out that the person was already that close to her.

"Then, what happened?"

"By the middle of the research process, a year and a half later, your father suddenly broke the contract. He didn't want to continue with the project because he realized how dangerous the chip was."

Crystal slowly slowly began to understand the storyline of his life which had been a mystery. The mystery slowly began to open up and reveal all the secrets that had been hidden very deep.

"However, two months later your father came to Kenzo and canceled his word that he was going to resume making the chips."

Crystal is increasingly curious about the past what really happened. He really wants to know the root of everything that happened to his family.

"Surprisingly, my father couldn't possibly put the lives of others at risk" Crystal said, refuting Levin's words.

"Your father really went on with the project back."

"Then, anything with the chip? If it's dangerous, why hasn't anything changed until now?" cerca Cryz.

"Your father continued, but never finished it."

Crys' face was getting confused. I can't think where this story will end.

"Kenzo realized there was a plan behind him that your father did. He and Desmond investigate your father and eventually find out that your father plans to betray them and sell those chips to other competitors once the chips are finished. They were really angry back then, Desmond had finally devised a plan to kill your father and his entire family."

Crystal covered her mouth with her palm while looking down at the floor. He could not believe that his father did such a deed. Crystal knew very well that her father was really serious and loyal to her work.

Levin saw clearly Crystal's expression that looked very shocked after digesting the entire story of the cause of his parents' deaths ten years ago.

He could say nothing, his brain could only turn around and believe that it was not true. His father was not that kind of person.

"I told you all about it from Kenzo's point of view. It's different if I look at it from your father's point of view. What Kenzo saw and believed all along may not be true" added Levin who managed to make Crystal's head look up to Levin with eyes sparkling expectantly.

Levin got up from his chair, then stepped closer to Crystal with a serious face. Crystal followed the man's movements, until Levin finally stood before him with a towering body.

Levin looked at Crystal deeply and flatly untouched. The man's expression suddenly changed and his aura around him also felt gripping and cold. Levin looked creepy with that expression. Crystal even went so deep, is this the real Levin figure?

"For people like me and Kenzo, we hate betrayal so much. If your father really betrayed you, then he deserved it."

Crystal is seen staring at Levin equally intently, but with a wounded look. The girl was certainly saddened to hear Levin say, but she couldn't argue with him because Levin and Kenzo were indeed people who never used their feelings. Now all Crystal can do is convince her that her father is not a traitor.

"My father is not that kind of person" Crystal said firmly with confidence, then left the room leaving Levin still silent in his place.

Seriate....
