The music in the event hall seemed to have stopped at that moment. Connor Hampton
can hardly believe it.
He's been rejected?
She had taken the initiative to talk to him but Diane
refused it? In fact, he had rejected it in front of so many people. Him
don't even want to clink a glass with him or drink a mouthful of wine?
A lot of people noticed it and they seemed to have seen it all
which just happened. Connor Hampton suddenly felt his face hurt.
It was as if he had slapped his face!
But he soon came to his surprise. He kept smiling thinly as he
saw Diane walking towards Ethan.
He looked calm and composed, as if nothing had happened. He keeps on being seen
gentleman as usual.
But he found it hard to hide the anger in his eyes.
He pretended to be indifferent about it and gave the wine to
another woman. The woman immediately became excited and thought she was
dreamt.
"How could a beautiful woman not have wine in
her hands?" Connor Hampton tried to cover up his embarrassment with
he gave her a glass of wine in his hand. He gently clinks
go with him and walk away from him.
Another woman felt like she was in a dream and she almost squealed in excitement.
Connor Hampton has taken the initiative to clink a glass with him!
He'll tell all his girlfriends.
Connor Hampton walked to one side as if he was not bothered by anything
anyway, but he kept an eye on Diane.
Diane walks over to Ethan and scoffs. "Why are you hiding here?"
"I'm eating" Ethan looked at Diane. "I'm hungry."
Diane didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
It's kind of an event for everyone to drink, chat, and
befriended. No one would care about food. Ethan is one
only exception.
But then again, Ethan would not be interested in making friends with these people.
If Ethan doesn't have to protect Diane, he won't even bother coming.
my gaze," said Diane with a slightly flushed face.
He's always a little anxious if he can't see Ethan.
Diane had rarely come for such an event in the past and did not have much
experiences. Palmer Group now wants to grow and he is leading
that move, so he knew that he had to perform even more at events like
that's in the future.
But as long as Ethan was by her side, she wasn't afraid.
"Sure," Ethan nodded. He deliberately looked like he had just received
order and answer with great respect, "Yes, CEO Palmer."
Diane almost laughed out loud when she saw how Ethan pretended
serious. He managed to hold it in and whispered, "That glutinous rice ball really is
good, I stole one bite before!"
He turned around to talk to another guest.
Diane's back was facing Connor Hampton, so she didn't see any expression
naughty in Diane's face. All he saw was how Ethan nodded
very seriously and he soon finds out who Ethan is.
"Oh, so he's Diane's driver. It's worth it he dared to hit one of mine."
He thinks Ethan might be a great guy, but once he sees Diane gone
to give him instructions and Ethan responds politely, he
deducing that Ethan must be Diane's driver.
But what is a driver compared to himself?
Diane might have something urgent to tell her
his driver, and that's why he turned down his red wine offer. If not, then,
there was no way she would humiliate him like that before.
When Connor Hampton thought about it that way, he felt better about
what happened before.
"Because you're Diane's driver, I'll spare you."
He looked at Ethan. He wanted to teach Ethan a good lesson, but
decided to let go because of Diane.
After all, since she wanted to have Diane, she might really need one
help this driver.
Connor Hampton narrowed his eyes as he churned the red wine in
the glass and walk towards Ethan.
