BROMOCORAS
Coquettishly

This morning at the Hidayah.

"How, Mas. Are we going to Bulek's address today?" Ask Dullah to Ajimukti who is enjoying the morning atmosphere in the pesantren yard.

"So, Lek. But it's probably a little afternoon. Because I'll have to replace Gus Faruq first." Sahut Ajimukti later.

"Hmmm, fine then, ma'am." Answer Dullah afterwards.

Right at that time Ajimukti saw Khalil, Imam Manan was walking to get out of the boarding school.

"Where are you going?" Ask Ajimukti who made the three students stop their steps.

"Oh, here, Jik. Find breakfast at the market. Do you want to come with me?" Manan who answered Ajimukti's call immediately offered his invitation to Ajimukti.

"Ah, coincidentally then. All right, I'm coming." Ajimukti.

"Lek Dul come with you guys?" Ask Ajimukti to Dullah who is with him.

"No, Mas. Thank ye. While there is still time before we leave to go to the address of Ms. Yu Mulatsih, I want to go to Prastowo's house first. There's something I want to negotiate with him." Dullah.

"Hmmm, fine then, Lek. I'll stay first." Ajimukti then joined Khalil, Imam and Manan.

Dullah only then nodded and after Ajimukti passed, he immediately left the pesantren page.

Upon arrival at the market Ajimukti faintly saw the brilliance of Samuel. He approached her immediately.

"The Samuel." Ajimukti then.

"Oh, sampeyan, Kang Aji. Where or where are you going?" Samuel was friendly.

"It's breakfast, Kang. What's the holiday stall?" Ask Ajimukti later.

"Yes, Kang. It just so happened to be a holiday because I'm the same John wants to prepare for Christmas the day after tomorrow." Samuel then.

"Oh, yes yes. Christmas is soon. Hmmm, all right, I wish you a merry Christmas, Kang." Say Ajimukti later.

"Ah, yes, Kang. Thank ye. Very rarely do I get this from a Muslim brother. Sampeyan was probably the first person to say this to me. Thanks again, Kang." Samuel then.

Hearing Ajimukti say that, Khalil, Imam and Manan could only look at each other and raise their shoulders.

Before long, Samuel again passed to continue his activities, and with Ajimukti and his friends, they immediately looked for a stall for their breakfast this morning.

"Jik, is it okay as Muslims say Christmas? Emmm, all I know isn't that forbidden huh?" Manan asked when they were at the food stall.

Upon Manan's question, Ajimukti smiled slightly, then lit his cigarette while waiting for their order to be delivered, "Indeed, Nan. On the eve of this Christmas celebration, there is usually a debate among the public about the law of a Muslim to say merry Christmas to Christians or anyone who commemorates it. Not infrequently, the debate raises disputes, even pagan or takfiir verdicts." Sahut later.

"Then what do you think, Jik?" Ask Manan later.

"Yes, to answer it. First, there is no verse of the Qur’an and the hadith of the Prophet that clearly and unequivocally explains the fragrance or the ability to say merry Christmas. In fact, the social conditions when the prophet Muhammad shallallahu ’alaihi wasallam lived required him to issue a fatwa about the law of speech, considering that the Prophet and the Companions lived side by side with Jews and Christians or Christians. Second, Nan. Because there is no verse of the Qur’an and the hadith of the Prophet that clearly and firmly explain the law, then this problem falls into the category of ijtihadi problems that apply rules. Laa yunkarul-mukhtalafu fiih, wa Innamaa yunkarul-mujma'u 'alayh. Issues that are still debated should not be denied or rejected, while problems that have been agreed may be denied. Thus, Nan. Neither the scholars who forbid it nor allow it, the same is only holding on to the generality or generality of the verses or hadith that they signal related to the law of this matter. Hence, they had different opinions." Say Ajimukti later.

"So someone's allowed it, Jik?" Ask Manan again, while Khalil and Imam just prefer to keep quiet listening.

"Regarding it this way, Nan. Some scholars, including Sheikh Bin Baz, Shaykh Ibn Utsaimin, Sheikh Ibrahim bin Ja’far, Sheikh Ja’far At-Thalhawi and so on, forbid a Muslim to say merry Christmas to the person who commemorates it.    They are guided by several arguments, among which the Word of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala in the letter of Al-Furqan verse 72. There it is said, Wal-ladziina laa yashhaduunar-ruura wa Idza marruu bil-laghwi maruu kiraama. And those who do not give false testimony, and when they meet those who do unwholesome deeds, they go through with keeping their honor. In that verse, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala mentions the characteristics of people who will get high dignity in heaven, namely people who do not give false testimony. A Muslim who wishes him a merry Christmas means he has given false witness and justified the Christian belief about Christmas. As a result, he would not gain high dignity in heaven. Thus, wishing Merry Christmas is haram." Ajimukti.

"If so, Jik. Then why did you say it?" Ask Manan again.

"It's not without reason, Nan. Because there are some scholars, such as Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, Shaykh Ali Jum’ah, Shaykh Musthafa Zarqa, Sheikh Nasr Farid Washil, Sheikh Abdullah bin Bayyah, Sheikh Ishom Talimah, European Fatwa Assembly, Egyptian Fatwa Assembly, and so, allow a merry Christmas greeting to the person who commemorates it. They also allow neither original nor without basis. Their law is based on the word of Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala in Surat Al-Mumtah verse 8, Laa yanhaa kumullaahu 'anil-ladziina lam yuqaatiluukum fiid-ini wa lam yukhrijuukum min diyaarikum an tabarruuhum wa tuqsithuuu ilayhim. Allah does not forbid you to do good and to be fair to those who do not fight against you because of religion and do not expel you from your land. Allah loves those who are just. Well, in that verse, Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala does not forbid Muslims to do good to anyone who does not fight it and does not expel it from his country. Merry Christmas is a form of good deeds to non-Muslims who do not fight and expel, so it is permissible." Terang Ajimukti later.

Manan and the others only then nodded in understanding.

"In addition, they are the scholars who allow it, also clinging to the hadith of the Prophet Shallallahu ’alaihi wasallam narrated by Anas bin Malik's friend, Nan. There used to be a Jewish child who always served or helped the Prophet Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam, then he was sick. So the prophet Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam came to him to see him, then he sat down near his head, then said, 'Take Islam! So the Jewish boy looked at his father who was nearby, and his father said, Obey Abul Qasim, His Majesty Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam. The boy also converted to Islam. Then the prophet Shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam came out and said, Praise be to Allah who has saved him from hell. Well, Nan. Responding to the hadith, ibn Hajar in Fathul Bari also asserted, This hadith explains that it is possible to make non-Muslims as servants, and to visit him if he is sick." Ajimukti continued his explanation.

"Emmm, so there are indeed scholars who forbid also some who allow yes, Jik?" Sahut Manan's.

"Rubber, Nan. In the hadith it is very clear how the Prophet exemplified to his people to do good to non-Muslims who did not harm him. Saying merry Christmas is one form of doing good to them, so it is permissible. Muslims are given the freedom to choose the right opinion according to their beliefs. Thus, this kind of difference should not be a conflict and cause division, Nan. Should." Again with Ajimukti.

"Yes, Jik. Just sometimes because they just hold on to one opinion and then put other opinions aside." Manan.

"Yes, that's it, Nan. So as people who are given the provision of reason, we must not immediately condemn the actions of someone, Nan. Because it could be, they use an opinion that is right next to our opinion." Imbuh Ajimukti again afterwards.

"Yes, Jik. You're right."

"And again Sayyidina Ali bin Abi Tholib once said, If we cannot be brothers in faith, at least we are brothers only in the name of humanity, Nan. That's good." Ajimukti.

Manan just nodded confirming Ajimukti's words.

"Just take it, Nan. Christmas greetings as part of the awareness to pray, just respect for friends or empathize with fellow citizens, it is the dimension of wathaniyah ukhuwah. If in that dimension, delivering Christmas speech I think will not interfere with our belief really, Nan. Tolerance is also an inherent part of religious teachings in Indonesia. Islam itself knows the concept of tasamuh which is also often translated as an attitude of tolerance. So, if you still think this is contrary to the teachings, then how is the science?" Ajimukti again confirms.

"Yes, Jik. Right enough. Then what about friends who participate in the celebration, for example, we often see it in terms of security?" Ask Manan later.

"Regarding it this way, Nan. If saying merry Christmas is allowed, then maintaining the continuity of Christmas, as Banser often does for example, it is also allowed." Ajimukti.

"Is there any evidence of that, Jik?" Still asked Manan.

"If asked the proposition, Nan. It is in the book of Date At-Thabary. So, Nan. In the past, the friend of Umar bin Khattab radhiyallahu anhu guaranteed the continuity of worship and celebration of the Christians of Iliya’ or Quds. He gave them assurance of peace over the souls, property, the church, the cross, as well as other religions there. Their church cannot be occupied and must not be destroyed." Terang Ajimukti later.

Hearing Ajimukti's explanation was Manan and the others only then nodded in understanding.

"But there's something else that's trending right now, Gus." Khalil who had been listening quietly since then now began to participate in the chat.

"What is that, Kang?" Ask Ajimukti later.

"Some Muslim colleagues who refuse to say merry christmas think it is the same when a Christian who must say the word shahadah. So they reject just as Christians refuse to say the word of the creed, Gus." Khalil said later.

Hearing that Ajimukti laughed, "Well, that's it, Kang. The Bodhone wong Saiki. They liken Christmas to the word shahadah. They consider the word shahadah only as a word. In fact, the sentence of the creed is a concord and even if only a word, but to say it must be with the heart. That's what I thought, Kang. Means when he used to say shahadah just say the word he said, his heart is not yet the shahadah." Sahut Ajimukti later.

Got the Ajimukti response like that Khalil also now laughs but understands the purpose of the Ajimukti speech.

Before long, the breakfast menu they ordered came and stopped their chat.

"We'd better have breakfast, Kang. After this I have to replace Gus Faruq and after that there will need to be the same Lek Dul." Say Ajimukti when the food order has come.

"Well, Gus." Sahut them simultaneously.

Seriate...
