The ground still leaves a rancid smell because of the rain earlier. Puddles of water are still visible on some of the potholes. Also leaves leaves that still leave wet marks because of the rain.
Ajimukti and Manan were walking down the street on the outskirts of the market this afternoon. While Dullah chose to stay in the room for a moment to lay down his body.
Although it is late afternoon but the activity in this market is still quite crowded. On some sides of the market is still seen vegetable traders who are still peddling their wares in their field. Also then pass people who are still milling down and back.
"Then, in this market my father and Kyai Salim once fought together, Jik." Manan then said.
Ajimukti looks to take a strong breath as if all the air in the market he wants to breathe.
"Like the sorrow they pass together in this market. A lot of the events they've been through are also on this market." Manan.
"I know, Nan." Ajimukti smile.
"This road used to be what my father often went through with Kyai Salim. Because this road used to connect the market with the terminal. Yeah, even after the renovation was finally given a wall."
Ajimukti and Manan continue down the market's suburban streets. A market that leaves and carves out a lot of history. The market is never empty of the hustle and bustle of traders and buyers.
"Woy! Woy! Don't run!"
"Cursue! Don't let it get away!"
The screams of some of the running people momentarily shifted the gaze of Ajimukti and Manan.
"What's up, Nan?" Ask Ajimukti full of astonishment.
"Come, Jik. Looks like they're chasing someone." Sahut Manan was still observing the direction of the man running.
"What's up, sir?" Manan asked then at someone who seemed to be chasing after that person.
"Battle, Mas." The father replied briefly and then rushed back to run.
Without a second thought Ajimukti immediately ran towards the person. Leaving Manan who for a moment was shocked and finally came running after Ajimukti who was far ahead.
"Woy! Don't run away!" The person still continued to run while shouting.
Now Ajimukti is not far behind the jambret. Passing some people who have already run.
The double!
A fairly strong kick right hit the back of the snatch and momentarily made the snatch fall down.
Jambret was still able to stand then try to give resistance to Ajimukti. Ajimukti withstood the jambret punch. The snatch keeps trying to hit, kick but can always be agile and hold.
People immediately stopped and watched Ajimukti duel with the snatch. Even with Manan who can only gawk.
The snapshot continues to put up its resistance. Ajimukti also continued to withstand every attack of the snatch. And when the snap wanted to hit Ajimukti's face, Ajimukti's lightning-fast dodged and managed to grab the snap's arm. Pull it up and twist it behind the snatch's back. Ajimukti kicked behind the snapper's knee and finally once again the snap fell down.
The people who had just watched the Ajimukti fighting duel and the snatch, now started again with his shout again. Ajimukti gives the man an aba with his hands to calm down. Instantly the man stopped his screams.
Now Ajimukti brought the snatch to the edge of the market. The snatch was now seen starting to be frightened in the middle of the crowd of people who looked at him full of anger. Ajimukti at a glance observed the snapshot, his age is no longer young, maybe already the same age as Dullah. Ajimukti brought his face closer to the jambret which was clearly the more frightened it was.
"Why did you do this?" Ask Ajimukti with his sharp gaze to the snatch.
"Ssss.my...i was stuck,-sa..my wife....my wife sssss...sick...my.........i bbb....take the cost to redeem....the drug issstri sssssss....my." Answer the snatch was stammered and so trembling.
"How much does it cost to make up for the drug?" Ask Ajimukti later.
The snap moves his hand to form letter v. "dddd.two." Answer the snatch with a face that began to pale and still stammered.
Ajimukti smiled, though,
The snapper thrust a small blue bag at Ajimukti. Ajimukti then stood up to lift the bag.
"Who is the owner of this bag?" Ask in a loud enough voice.
A mother waved her hand. "That's my bag, son." Said later.
Ajimukti gave the bag to the mother of the bag owner.
"Thank you, son. Thankfully there was a chanceyan." Said the mother.
"The same, ma'am. Next time heart." Ajimukti.
The mother simply returned to say her thanks.
Ajimukti returned to the snatch. Now he reached into his pocket and took out some money.
"This is to redeem the father's wife's medicine. The rest can be bought to eat your wife. Don't repeat like this again, sir. Pity your wife if she has to eat from the illicit money." Say Ajimukti while giving the money to the snatcher.
Rebutt what Ajimukti did made people who crowded look at each other astonished. Ajimukti realized that. He then stood up and explained to the people the reason why the father had snatched. There were among the crowd that denounced Ajimukti and even cursed him.
"I know this man is wrong. But shouldn't we, as human beings, forgive each other?" Say Ajimukti to the crowd.
Ajimukti turned to the mother of the mother who owned the bag. "How, Ma. After knowing the reason for his father. Do you want to forgive your father?" Ask Ajimukti later.
The mother looked a little emotional, before finally nodding. "Yes, my bag is back as well. Unanimous. So I'm sorry about him, son." The mother said then.
"Alhamdulillah..." Ajimukti.
"If this mother alone has forgiven why should it be extended? No one forgives unless Allah will add to his glory." Continue Ajimukti later.
The man finally silenced. And one by one they started to leave the crowd.
"Now go, sir. Buy your father's wife medicine. I pray that the father's wife will be immediately removed from her illness and given health as usual." Say Ajimukti on the snatch that still looks pale and shaky.
"thank you. Thank you." Thank you." Say the snap while hugging Ajimukti's feet. Ajimukti immediately lifted the body of the jambret and again asked him to immediately go buy medicine for his wife.
Manan who had been silent since in the middle of the crowd of people now approached Ajimukti.
"You okay, Jik?" Ask later.
"As you can see. I'm fine, Nan." Ajimukti.
"You're great, Jik. It turns out that in addition to silence jago najai turns out to be a silat jago also you." Praise Manan.
"Not really, Nan. Just never learned a little time still join Pagar Nusa first." Ajimukti.
"But there's more to salute, Jik." Manan then said.
"Already, Jik. Don't talk about it." Ajimukti patted Manan's shoulder. "We'll just go back to the cottage. I want this Maghrib." Imbuh Ajimukti later.
Manan just shrugged and walked away from the end of the market.
Several pairs of fleeting eyes observed Ajimukti and Manan passing in front of them. Maybe they are still amazed by the events and attitudes of Ajimukti they just witnessed.
From a distance behind the market wall away from the crowd of people, a pair of eyes were watching Ajimukti and Manan leave the market. Grasping a few pieces of money he rubbed his slightly bloody lips. His gaze was so sharp and did not switch, until finally the shadow of Ajimukti and Manan no longer captured the reach of his eyes.
Seriate...
