Pondok Pesantren Hidayah a few years ago.
The atmosphere is fresh and beautiful. There are still many trees around the pesantren yard. The fence that surrounds the pesantren is still a bamboo fence with several vines that spread around the pesantren looks fertile. Bougenville and Soka Java flowers also look beautiful and thrive in the entrance gate of the boarding school.
Salim sat on a bench made of bamboo stems in front of the pesantren outdoor terrace. The plan to break this will be renovated into a mosque to strengthen the relationship between the pesantren and the surrounding community.
Apparently, Salim was pondering. Empty views. Breeze of wind that blows dust from the yard which is still in the form of soil, he ignored even though it occasionally almost makes it slip.
Not long after Zaini died, Salim began to be overwhelmed to take care of the pesantren alone. Not to mention the construction of pesantren which of course after this construction is completed, there will be more new santri coming.
On the other hand, he had to go back and forth to Jogja because Kartika, his wife, had also recently given birth. How will the santri when he comes to Jogja?
Salim must inevitably find a partner to help him take care of the cottage. But he was confused as to who could help him in this.
Some of his friends like Prastowo, Dasman and Anggoro, if only to supervise and help in pesantren maybe they can be relied on. But if it were to teach, it was clearly far from their capabilities.
Salim got up from his seat, then stepped towards the back of the breach. It was there that he lived, in a house that used to be full of memories with his best friend Satriyo and who awakened him. In the house that his father entrusted to Zaini.
On the porch of the house, Salim saw Anggoro who seemed to want to go home. Anggoro today was assigned to oversee the construction of the pesantren by Salim.
"You're going straight home, Ro?" Sapa Salim who saw Anggoro already riding his motorcycle.
Seeing Salim coming, Anggoro got off the bike again, "No, Kang. Want to go to the market first, this morning mbok wedok pesen tell buy milk all for the tole." Sahut Anggoro half bowed.
"Here I go to the market, Ro." Say Salim then.
Anggoro looks frowned, "Jam this way to the market what to do, Kang?" Tanya Anggoro was curious as well.
Salim threw a smile, seeing Anggoro's expression seemed to worry about him, "Just calm down, Ro. I just want to find a seger seger." Sahut Salim later.
Anggoro also without thinking long nodded, then immediately turned on the motor. "I'm with you, Kang."
"No need, Ro. You will go home immediately is okay. It's a pity that your son is out of milk." Said Salim reassuring Anggoro, while riding to the back seat of the Anggoro motorbike.
"It's okay, Kang. Actually at home. Ask to buy also just for stock." Sahut Anggoro flat. Salim knew Anggoro's intent to indirectly force to accompany him.
Salim just silently smiled behind Anggoro's head, then patted Anggoro's shoulder.
Soon they reached the outskirts of the market. Salim stood in front of a food stall on the outskirts of the market. In front of the stall there is a large MMT that began to be a little shabby because of the heat and rain, inscribed Warung Makan Cuisine Java AMINUDIN. Salim immediately entered the stall followed by Anggoro behind him.
Before long a man of his age, who seemed to be the owner of the stall, seemed to be walking towards him. Looking at the appearance of Salim who was wearing a black sarong and squat, the man who owned the stall narrowed his eyes.
"Mas Kyai Salim, huh?" Asked the man who owned the stall while pointing his index finger at Salim.
Salim just threw a smile, then slightly nodded his head.
Some visitors who heard the owner say hello to someone they knew very well. They immediately stood up and lowered their heads.
"Well, Monggo, Mas Kyai." The owner of the shop hurriedly wiped his desk. "Pangapunten Mas Kyai, the place is a mess."
"It's okay, Kang Amin." Sahut Salim friendly.
"Oh, yes, Mas Kyai ngersakne dahar same for what? Let me prepare." Ask the owner of the stall called Salim by the name of Amin later.
"Black coffee only, Kang Amin. Don't be so sweet!" Salim said, "What are you, Ro?" Salim turned to Anggoro.
"I'm just coffee too, Kang." Said Anggoro, while taking off his Banser jacket.
Yes, for the last few years. Anggoro is active and has been registered in the membership of the autonomous body of the Anshor Youth Movement.
Amin soon returned to the table where Salim and Anggoro brought two cups of hot black coffee. The fragrant aroma of coffee that burst with the smoke that billowed from the small glass was so tempting.
"Monggo Mas Kyai, coffee." Say Amin while thrusting a coffee glass to the table Salim and Anggoro.
"Sit down first, Kang Amin." Salim said as Amin went back.
Anggoro who heard that, frowned slightly.
Salim seemed to curl his lips slightly then sounded sigh.
"Look, Kang Amin. I need to be a little bit the same Kang Amin actually." Say Salim a moment later.
Amin narrowed his eyes, feeling curious when Salim said that Salim had a need with him.
"What is it, Mas Kyai?" Amin asked then, he wanted to immediately close his curiosity this time.
"I need Kang Amin's science." Say Salim without stale bases.
Amin flinched, even with Anggoro who was a little shocked and immediately knew the meaning of Salim's words.
"Mas Kyai mean?" Ask Amin who does not understand the direction of Salim's conversation.
Salim sighed again, "Pesantren is lacking teaching staff, Kang." Said Salim looked serious, "I know Kang Amin is a boarding alumni who has educated many santri santri alim and qualified, I am sure that there is Kang Amin in Pondok Hidayah, Hidayah, later it will make Pondok Hidayah pesantren more developed in the future." Salim continued bluntly.
Amin looked surprised, but his facial expression could not be masked that he was very happy with Salim's offer.
"How about, Kang Amin?" Salim asked awaiting Amin's decision. "Is Kang Amin willing to help me teach the students at the boarding school?" Later connections.
"Wow, how is it, Mas Kyai. I am happy with Mas Kyai's offer. But is Mas Kyai sure I'm capable?" Ask Amin later.
Salim smiled, "I'm very sure, Kang. But all also returned to Kang Amin, willing or not. I won't force Kang Amin." Salim was convincing.
Amin nodded lightly, then smiled, "God willing, Mas Kyai. I'm willing." Amin replied without hesitation.
"Before I say thank you, Kang Amin. Hopefully with Kang Amin after this. It really can improve the quality of the students." Salim said sincerely.
Anggoro who had been silent since listening to the conversation Salim and Amin did not comment anything. But for some reason, something stuck in his heart with Salim's decision. But he was sure, when Salim had made this decision, of course Salim had thought about it carefully.
Since that afternoon, Amin has never absent every day to come to Pondok Hidayah. Salim deliberately assigned Amin to teach the santri after Maghrib and ba'da Isya', so as not to interfere with Amin's work in his food stall.
Almost two years ago Amin became an ustadz teacher at Pondok Hidayah. The construction of the pesantren has been completed. Langgar, which was once only enough to accommodate the santri, has now become a large and luxurious mosque building, enough for all the santri as well as the surrounding residents who want to pray together.
"Mas Kyai Salim, now Alhamdulillah pesantren has grown rapidly. Many santri come from various regions not only from around the east Java region alone." Said Amin one time, "We should not withdraw dues to the saints, Mas Kyai. Yeah, at least to add to the cost of construction." Amin continued proposing.
Salim, who heard Amin's proposal, smiled, and stood up from his seat looking forward.
"I'm sorry, Mas Kyai if my proposal is not appropriate." Amin said later, looking at the expressionless Salim after hearing his proposal.
Salim could be heard sighing heavily, "Ustadz Amin's proposal is not inappropriate. But honestly, I built this pesantren not to make things difficult for students. Thank God for always easing our intentions. And although all this time we have never a dime to withdraw dues from them, they with sincerity and sincerity even flocked to help us." Sahut Salim later.
"But there are also many who just sit on their hands without ever taking part, Mas?" Amin added.
Salim smiled, "Maybe their economy is limited, Ustadz Amin. And I understand that very well. Without dues, our pesantren has been able to accommodate all those who really want to know. I am worried that the dues will affect the learning intentions of the students. It will burden them." Salim is calm.
"But to get knowledge also needs effort, Mas. Not cheap. My Wong only used to go for a month to hundreds of thousands of kok, Mas." Amin seemed to be still trying to make Salim understand his point.
Salim responded with a smile, "I know, Ustadz Amin. Their earnestness was enough to be paid. And it's a lot more expensive than any nominal money." Say Salim then.
"Many of the santri guardians are willing to spend expensive, they think with the more expensive the cost, the more guarantee the quality of the child's salary. But in the end they are burdened themselves. Intentions that should be sincere, actually change over time. Who sees that, there will be thoughts of thinking that naji in pesantren is expensive and so forth. In the end, many are afraid to enter their children into pesantren and choose to send them to public schools. Well, Ustadz Amin, that kind of mindset I want to erase." Salim tried to explain to Amin.
Amin was just shaking his head, he was still thinking about something.
"But, Mas Kyai. Usually pesantren there is a base or initial entrance money, let alone a cottage that is still new to development such as Pondok Hidayah, of course there is a contribution column or investment development. And I think it's legitimate, Mas. Later also cost this base money for uniforms, furniture needs rooms, mos, ta’aruf, learning books and the needs of wardrobes and beds santri as well, Mas. The payment was only once during the mondok in the pesantren." Amin is still trying to express his opinion.
Salim once again sighed, "Yes, I understand that, Ustadz Amin. But often I hear from some of the santri guardians who mboyong his son here, who with the initial cost of entry that almost reached millions of rupiah, it was quite thrilling wallet among santri guardians whose economy is still troublesome. Surely the existence of base money that reaches hundreds of thousands or even millions will only further legitimize the validity of the high cost of pesantren. And increasingly makes people reluctant to put their children into pesantren because hit the mindset that has mushroomed it. Whereas what we need is a generation that is moral, ethical, has uploads, and knows the teachings of the Prophet. But if they are afraid to put their children into the pesantren because of the presence of shahriyah or certain costs that collide with their needs, is it in vain our intention later, Tadz?" Salim was still trying to explain without offending Amin.
"But, Mas Kyai. If we convert to the needs of students and the allocation of costs then the nominal nominal can later be somewhat rational beyond the contribution of their afterlife investment to charity, which is participating in contributing to the construction of cottage facilities." Amin continued to try to convince Salim. "And again I just feel sorry for Mas Kyai Salim if I have to bear all of it personally. I'm afraid, they'll only probably take advantage of Mas Kyai's kindness." Imbuh Amin later.
Salim simply smiled, "Let's think again about the proposal, Ustadz Amin. But for now, God willing, I can still bear it all. I never felt like I was bearing anything. This obligation is no longer a liability. Ustadz Amin don't worry. Khusnudzon only!" Said Salim then, then stepped into the house whose front is in the process of renovation.
Amin looked sour to see Salim did not seem interested in his proposal. He is seen shaking his head lightly and then passing from the terrace of Salim's house.
Seriate...
