Episode 45 Grandma's Hope

"Why is my wife in so much pain?" nathan panicked.

"Patient to you. You are strong, hold on." said Bella as she gently stroked her daughter-in-law's forehead.

"I'll check it again" the doctor said.

The doctor's lethargic face raises questions for Nathan and Bella.

"How, Doc? Is my wife and son okay?" nathan asked impatiently.

"sorry. For the safety of her mother, we must abort her fetus." replied the doctor in a heavy voice.

"No. Please save my son, Doc. I don't want to lose him. I can endure this pain as long as he stays safe" Amel said hysterically.

"Calm down, son." said Bella trying to calm down.

"Is there no other way, Doc?" nathan asked trying to find the best solution.

The doctor exhaled and then shook his head.

"You discuss it first. I'll give you 4 hours from now. The sooner the better if too long will endanger the life of the mother." said the doctor then out of the room.

"Nathan, please save our son. I don't want to lose her" said Amel who had been crying so hard.

Nathan looked at Bella with a sad look and hugged Amel. Bella gives her son and daughter-in-law time to make the best decision.

"Honey, I know you love this baby-to-be. I do too. But your safety is more important. I can't bear to lose you." Nathan said gripping his wife's hand tightly.

"But is there no other way? I'm ready to endure all this pain as long as this child stays with me." said Amel, who made Nathan's heart slit.

"Is this a punishment for me? Punishment for taking you from your lover? Why should my son bear my guilt? He's not guilty. Why did he have to leave me before I saw him in the world?" ask Amel who has started to get out of control.

Nathan immediately held Amel in his arms. Nathan could feel the pain his wife felt. Nathan feels the same way, but he doesn't want to get out of control like Amel.

"Dear listen to me. Maybe this is God's destiny we have to live. Don't blame yourself. I was also part of the mistake" Nathan said, stroking his wife's back gently.

"For your safety, we have to let it go. You can take it, right?" said Nathan.

"No." said Amel who still rejected her husband's decision.

"Darling, look at me." Nathan asked to cupper his wife's face.

Amel followed Nathan's request, he looked at her husband.

"You need to be healthy. We can have another child in the future. But I don't want to lose you. You understand what I mean, right?" nathan is serious.

Amel nodded his head with a still-sounding sob.

"I'll tell the doctor right away" Nathan said, hurrying to find a doctor.

"Son, you can definitely get through this. Mama will make a decision like Nathan in your position. I'm sure you're going to give birth to a funny grandchild for us in the future" Bella said, trying to cheer up her daughter-in-law.

"Mama forgive me. Amel can't take good care of Mama's grandchildren" said Amel, feeling guilty.

"Darling, it's not your fault. This is the path you have to go through. This is precisely the fault of Mama who does not pay too much attention to you at home. Forgive me, son?" said Bella realized that she had not been too close to Amel.

"Where are you going?" davina asked when she saw Marvin coming out of the room.

"Hehe.. There's some work I need to finish. If you're bored, you can come with me to my study." take Marvin.

Marvin's office is right next to his room. Davina's eyes seemed amazed when she saw a large and high shelf containing many books like in the library.

"Wow! This is all your book collection?" ask Davina in disbelief.

"Yes, I collected it since I was in school" replied Marvin.

"Did you say something?" ask Marvin.

"Ah no. Can I read it?" ask Davina to switch the conversation.

"of course. Please if there is something interesting for you." replied Marvin after that sit down and open his laptop.

Davina was busy reading the titles of the books on Marvin's shelf.

"Help.. Most of it is about business. No wonder his abilities are recognized in this city." muttered Davina.

"It looks like it's quite exciting" Davina said as she read a book title that caught her eye.

Davina sat down disoffa as she began to open the book she already had in her hand.

"My details turned out to be interested in martial arts." Marvin's inner self glanced at the book his wife read.

Both of them focus on their respective activities until they do not realize that the day is dark.

"Master, Miss time for dinner." call Mira while knocking on Marvin's office door.

"Let's go down." take Marvin to his wife.

"Alright." said Davina then followed Marvin's steps towards the dining room.

"Good night my grandchildren." greet Julia with a beaming face.

"Night, Grandma." reply Marvin and Davina compact.

"You really are one-sided" Julia praised making the two misbehave.

"It's normal for newlyweds if you're still shy. Let's eat." take Julia while teasing the young couple sitting in front of her.

"Well, Grandma." this time only Davina answered clumsily.

"I hope your household is always harmonious. And my granddaughter is totally reliable. I doubt she can treat my granddaughter-in-law well." Julia said.

"I didn't see it wrong, did I? Why did Grandma give me such a look?" marvin wondered.

After dinner, Julia invites Davina to talk in the living room while Marvin is back in his study.

"Sit, Son. There's something Grandma wants to talk to you about." Julia opened the conversation.

"Well, Grandma." said Davina politely.

"How do you feel about your new status now?" ask Julia.

"I'm still adjusting, Grandma." Davina answered honestly.

"Did Marvin treat you well?" ask Julia curiously.

"Yes, Grandma." Davina answered making Julia breathe a sigh of relief.

"I know your relationship is not based on falling in love with each other. Grandma didn't know what deal my granddaughter had made so you wanted to marry her. But Grandma can see that Marvin's feelings and treatment are sincere with you, son." Julia said.

Davina was silent trying to digest Julia's words.

"For a long time Marvin had never been interested in connecting with any woman. But after meeting you, Grandma could see a very significant change in my granddaughter's fridge-like nature" Julia said, amused Davina to hear it.

"Grandma's not making fun of Grandma's own granddaughter, is she?" Davina.

"What Grandma said is the truth, son. If you can't open your heart to her yet, please give her a chance to prove her feelings. Grandma knew how she struggled before marrying you. Not Grandma forced you, but Grandma just wished you could reciprocate Marvin's feelings and you could live happily together forever" Julia said expectantly.

"Grandmother is very old. Marvin doesn't have anyone anymore. With your presence in his life, Grandma so no longer worried if Grandma left his life. There's already you with her." said Julia herself.
