Pinnacle POV
The morning sky looked more beautiful than yesterday. Has my opinion begun to be biased because of seeing the sky from inside this luxurious and comfortable car?
The red car I was riding on turned right towards the Satellite Shophouse. The deafening journey as the silence created was finally over.
I don't know how to describe how I feel right now. There is a sense of pleasure, confusion and various other feelings that spill into one. The trip to the office was faster than I expected. Do I expect this handsome man sitting behind the wheel to linger with me? I don't know exactly how I feel about him right now. I was annoyed that he forced me to sit in his car but also enjoyed the kindness and care offered for free. Ah .. It may not be the attention I expect from an adult man to his lover but rather to a friend or friend and co-worker. I can't misinterpret that attention.
"Thank you for giving me a ride" I said quietly as the car I was riding in entered Ruko's courtyard. I removed the seatbelt and then held the handle of the car door, pulled the lock until a click sounded.
"The pleasure is mine" he said in a sweet tone. What sweet? Maybe my hearing is problematic and I should see an ENT doctor after work. "My driver will pick you up later," he added watching me. I paused my intention to get out of the car and twist my body a little. We're face-to-face. "What time are you home?" he said again ignoring the protest that was clearly painted on my face. Is he always good to every girl friend to want to provide shuttle car facilities complete with the driver. It's so good his life! It's better to be his girlfriend.
"No need! I can take a taxi online or take a friend," I reasoned the same. "You don't have to treat me special" I said honestly. I don't know why I said it but what he's been doing these past few days has left me confused. Do I have to turn it down like that night or this morning? Both are not helpful at all. Help someone, say something that can make my heart enlightened.
"Absolutely not," he said still in the same tone.
"Alright, thank you, I'm down now," I said, then pushed slowly through the door and lowered my left foot. Pushing slowly the car door for fear of being scratched or even broken if I slam it violently
"Bening ..., "call Damar in a soft voice. I twisted my body and bent down a bit to look at it. He looked straight at me.
"Yes?" I waited for him to say something. He seemed to think of something.
"Forget it!" his orders. "I'll call you later" he promised before turning his car around and driving slowly down the highway. The car disappeared in an instant. He managed to confuse me back.
'That's it, don't think about it too much'. My little heart voice advised.
Successful men like Damar are charming. Damar realized the charm and used it. Just look at that excessive aura of confidence.
Forget that! Forget that! Forget that!
"Hey ... New girlfriend huh?" guess Nola's standing not far from me. His loud voice made my heart almost fall out. I don't like anyone who surprises me.
"This you, startling my sleeping heart" my protest scowled at him.
"Yes, sorry-sorry!" he said with a cheerful tone. I'm not sure he's sincerely apologizing. "I thought your heart was daydreaming of a new boyfriend instead of sleeping?" his comments stared at the streets that were crowded with motor vehicles. Since when is he interested in staring at motor vehicles that crawl the highway?
"The heart is the job of pumping blood, not daydreaming, ngaco you this," I said a little sniffly. I was still upset because he made my heart suddenly wake up from his leisure break.
"Morning, really, sewot, out of a fight with a boyfriend, huh?" said again. There was a laugh in his voice.
"Daughter?"
"Yes, that's your new boyfriend, right?" he said he was staring at the streets crowded with motor vehicles.
"New boyfriend? I think I have an old boyfriend?" I said to take a slow step towards the Ruko building. If you serve Nola nyinyir, there is no end. Not nyinyir anyway but busy mengurusi life of others and want to know it ....
"Well, Leon? Aren't you guys close?" ask Nola who has been teaching my steps. Me and Leon? What did Nola see in our relationship?
"This gigaco of yours!" my toilet. Leon and I are close but we don't have a special relationship. Just friends and boss. Not more.
"But, how's Leon? He's super nice to you, everyone knows, he has a special feeling to you" she explained. He suddenly changed profession to be an observer of my love.
"Special use telor," I said. The glass door in front of me opened automatically. I stepped in and walked up the stairs located to the right of the room. The first floor is filled with a reception desk, a sitting room for guests and a meeting room.
"Martabak kali!" saith. He walked right behind me. "Can't you see it? His treatment of you is very different." Nola insisted on her opinion.
"He never said anything about his feelings to me" I said, recalling each time we were together.
"Duh, Clear ... A true man never speaks sweet words, but his sweet actions speak" she said.
"But, at least speaking, even a little about feelings. I'm not a clairvoyant who can read someone's head. I also don't want to second-guess let alone hope." I stopped at the end of the stairs and turned my head. Nola stopped. "So, don't be pretentious about someone's feelings if that person never tells you." I stepped back then pushed the glass door in front of me and walked steadily towards my desk. Nola's still following my steps.
"Are you going to believe it after he speaks directly?" buru Nola's. Apparently he won't stop hunting me with his silly questions. I shrugged both of my shoulders in response. "Well, will you say it or not, you are" he said, sitting at his desk in front of me. Yes, Nola is my super chatty co-worker and my best friend. I met him two years ago when I joined Leon at his EO office
"I why?"
"Yes, that is, every time a guy comes close, you're a nut." Not fault! I just want a tough guy who can protect me. Not tough mighty muscular but mentally tough like a true warrior.
"I don't need a boyfriend!"
"But you need a husband?" comment Nola. I smiled at him and held up my two thumbs. "How can you get a husband if you don't have a boyfriend?" sigh Nola about the status of a single attached to me.
"Seriously? In this age?"
"Have it, don't discuss my love life, what about Rio? When did he propose?" I said to divert the conversation.
"I don't know, I've been fishing but not connecting!" his weakness. I smiled thinly. Nola and Rio have been dating for more than two years according to Nola's confession.
"Tuh, you're the one who punga girlfriend that's all, not clear," my lead.
"Well, still mending than you?"
"I'm waiting to be proposed."
"Leon, Bening is waiting to be proposed!" he said with a loud voice. Good thing other employees have not come so well with Leon. Well, we were the first employees to arrive at the office.
I heard someone's voice chortling. Nola and I exchanged looks before turning to the door and finding Leon standing there. I felt my cheeks heat up. I didn't even hear any footsteps up the stairs.
"Leon, Bening is waiting to be proposed, he said," repeated Nola in a more subtle tone. Leon looked at Nola and then looked at me. I can't tell her face expression. He stood there without a word.
"Nola .." I said looking at him sharply. Damnit. This kid is a bucket.
"You said it yourself, wait for the application" he said ignoring Leon who stood there.
The blood in my heart went straight up to my face. I felt my pupils heating up for a moment.
"Don't listen to Nola, she's a bucket" I said, staring at Leon. I'm really embarrassed. I want to repeat the previous scene and not say that sentence to Nola.
Nola!
What would Leon think? I didn't expect Leon to propose to me. I am telling the truth. I wait to be proposed by anyone with good intentions rather than lingering courtship is unclear and much of his heartache is better to get married. Responsibility and commitment to speech and action. Maybe I'm being too serious? Shouldn't it be, the relationship of men and women mature in marriage. Clear and purposeful ties and relationships.
Leon smiled and strode steadily towards his study, which was bounded by a wall of ice glass in the corner of the room.
"We have a meeting after everything is complete" he said before disappearing behind an ice-glass door.
There was a bit of a strange feeling as Leon did not comment anything about what Nola had said. Is it possible that I was disappointed, Leon didn't like me as Nola told me? No way! I didn't expect Leon to have any special feelings but why did I feel a little strange with his facial expression earlier.
I pulled the drawer on my desk, pulled out the blue notebook and opened the laptop in front of me and turned it on.
"What about your new boyfriend?" look Nola's back watching me with her round eyes. Can't he read the situation? I saw a black cloud around Leon. Maybe because I watch anime a lot, my imagination becomes amazingly fantastic.
"The room isn't my new boyfriend" I said briefly. I rolled my eyeballs.
"Oh, so his name is Damar! Is he handsome?" korek Nola's. Misterus' smile was engraved on his red lips. Who doesn't recognize Damar's good looks? Two women in the elevator in the apartment this morning were amazed. Even they did not hesitate to gossip when Damar was there.
"More than you think!"
"really? You have to introduce me."
"No way!"
