ENDLESS HALLWAY

ENDLESS HALLWAY
CHAPTER 13: INNER TORMENT

The roses in the garden have been showing their buds for a week. Likewise, flamboyant trees in the yard next to the flower house are growing more and more in the branches.

Before what Cindy felt was not what it is today. Beauty so felt infiltrated into his heart. For he felt detached from the bondage of a cruel torment. For him now freedom does not mean happiness.

That morning Cindy had just cleaned her bed and then tidied it up. The morning sunlight crept in through the open window of his room. Even Cindy finished making her bed, standing at the window while looking at the sun. The warmth of her radiance touched the skin of Cindy's beautiful and smooth face, her sweet smile etched against the sunlight. It was as if she was fondling warmth as when Rangga stroked her dearly.

Is this morning really a morning that starts to open a new chapter in my life? Is it true that all suffering will not come back as it was a time ago? Eternal fabric of my love that has been tempestuous in my mind? Ooooh Rangga, if you could have me, how much it would have meant for the rest of my life, but could it be that you could subdue and resuscitate my father who is now suffering from a mental disorder. He hated seeing me in a relationship with any man. The cause was none other than the soul pressure that had seen and heard me always tortured by Romeo. In addition to the destruction of the company that was pioneered since I was a child. He assumed that all the men who loved me had bad intentions.

The sighs of the heart stirred up a little bit of unrest that began to appear again in him. She was afraid of losing Rangga. If the man was to despair easily, it would definitely leave him. While looking at the flamboyant flowers that mesrah decorate the branches, a long sigh of incense was heard through his nose.

Soft steps entered the room. And a middle-aged woman was already standing nearby. That woman was none other than her mother.

"What do you dream of Cindy?" his mother's reprimands are soft.

Cindy gasped a little for not seeing her mother coming. So he looked back while hiding his unrest.

"Cindy didn't think of anything ma'am." Cindy said flatly.

The woman tried to smile even though her heart was broken. Actually, what is stored in the heart and feelings of the woman is very sad. But his nature always shows patience and fortitude to support suffering without anyone else knowing.

"How's dad doing at mom's?" Ask Cindy.

"Still as usual." Answer Mother.

"No change?" Cindy continues.

The woman nodded her head. Cindy took a long breath.

"I am always confused when I think about my father's situation. Anyway, I didn't have the heart to put Dad in a crazy hospital. He was very miserable if he had to stay there. Just as we see a confined state of being feeling more depressed." Cindy in complaint.

"We'd better get together again Cindy" continued his mother back.

"You mean housewife again?" asked Cindy.

"Well" his mother replied briefly.

"That's the possibility that I'm thinking about mom. But I don't think you want to live in this house." Bright Cindy.

"Your opinion is undeniable my son." Reply mother.

Cindy was stunned for a moment. And the old half-woman did the same. The past has left behind a terrible memory that conjures up a terrifying shadow for the Cindy family. Luxury homes and cars relic Romeo a little more paint a personality that has been tarnished black.

Cindy held onto her head which suddenly felt heavy. Because he still remembers before returning from the hospital, the police had investigated all the things hidden behind reality.

"Cindy's feeling says if we stay in this house won't be long ma'am." Cindy's murmur was lethargic.

"Why is that, son?" Ask mother.

"Now the police will investigate all Romeo's problems. And I'll definitely get caught up anyway. This house will be confiscated by the state." Definitely Cindy.

"Ooooh..." Long complaint of the woman.

"Hopefully it won't happen ma'am." Cindy comforted her mother's heart.

"What should you do next, Cindy?" Ask her mother again.

"Just hope God's mercy upon

HIS mercy. We're moving on to HER." Cindy said and along with Cindy's completion, the sound of the house bell rang. There was a feeling of anxiety mixed with happiness entrenched within Cindy's chest. Who is coming? So the question when Cindy walked to the door. Of course if Rangga who came his heart mingled. But if besides him, ah.. what will happen? So Cindy walked along with a puzzling question.

He was fully aware that his suffering had not ended there. Before Cindy opened the door she tried to look through the glass window at who was coming. His heart rate suddenly changed very quickly. His face in an instant had already turned pale and his entire body was trembling in fear. The one who came turned out not to be Rangga but two police officers dressed in official clothes.

Cindy with trembling hands opened the door. The two policemen nodded their heads.

"Good morning, madam." Said one of the policemen.

"Se.good morning." Cindy's voice shakes.

One of the policemen handed Cindy a letter.

"In a week's time, the lady will have to face the court." The police said.

"Ba..baik sir "Stammered Cindy's answer.

"Excuse me madam." Police said again.

"Yes.yes." Answer Cindy.

Cindy closed the door when the two policemen had not left the porch. Hurry up at the call and read it. Oooooh Lord, in a week I have to face the court table. And for all this time I am still under the supervision of the authorities. What should I do in front of the judge? What do I have to answer each question? It's obvious you'll get caught up in this. God help us. Cindy whimpered with a tear that fell on her cheek.

"What happened Cindy?" Ask the woman.

"Two policemen have come here and given me summonses. Next week I have to go to Romeo's mother's trial." Cindy said with tears.

The woman hugged her son and cried.

"Oooh my son. How unfortunate your fate is." The woman's words were sobbing.

Cindy buried her head in her mother's arms. He's the only place to complain about all his suffering. And it is the woman who always wants to understand her feelings.

"Mother if after all fate and suffering fill only Cindy who lamented is not a matter anymore. But it will also concern yourself father. While the situation of the father is very needy to be pitied." Cindy explained.

"Then what are you gonna do, Cindy?" Ask Mother.

"My only hope is mom. Hopefully Rangga can help us" Cindy replied.

"Well, looking at her eyes she loves you so much, Cindy." Reply Mother.

"I believe that Rangga is not a cowardly man mother." Cindy Say.

"I'll always pray that you'll be safe my son." His mother again.

These two unfortunate people hugged each other tightly. The woman's hand caressed her son's hair with affection. Why does all this suffering have to befall you, baby? This should never have happened to you. The woman whimpered while guiding her crying child to the room.

***

Ever since Cindy received a summons from the prosecutor, her face has rarely been etched into her sweet smile. He was more often chin-backed and pensive alone. The place to ask for protection and help is none other than Rangga. So in the twilight Cindy came to Rangga's house. As long as Cindy holds the wheel the car almost lacks concentration. And he almost hit a somay seller. Only one can be heard from the somay seller. And in a corner of the road almost at the house Rangga, Cindy almost hit a small wine when going across. Ooooooh why is this so? Cindy complains with a hunting heartbeat.

With feelings of anxiety. Fear feeling. After his car stopped in front of Rangga's house, he tried to stretch his chest tight.

Trying to restore his mind to clear. For without a clear mind, there is no way he can explain his case to Rangga. For a while Cindy was still sitting stuck behind the steering wheel. Rangga when he saw Cindy's car stop in front of the house rushed to him. The man was astonished to see Cindy's strange demeanor. What did that girl do? Sitting pensively behind the steering wheel with a pale face.

Rangga reprimanded Cindy while joking. "Hi Cindy, why don't you go down? Is your ass sore?" Cindy flinched and forced to smile.

"Oh yeah, I almost forgot." Cindy got out of the car and threw down the door. The two of them walked side by side towards the pavilion.

Rangga invited Cindy to sit on the porch of the pavilion. The twilight air that blows and carries the fresh scent of garden flowers in front of it is enough to add to the romantic atmosphere.

"You look moody and sad Cindy. Why?" Ask Rangga.

"It's too hard for me to face him Rangga." Reply Cindy.

"May I know?" Ask Rangga.

Cindy bowed for a moment. Sadness was evident through the wrinkle of his forehead. And in the eyes of the girl was floating a glittering grain of clear water.

"Why are you quiet Cindy?" Ask Rangga back.

"Will you help me Rangga?" Cindy asked back.

"How can I help you if you don't know the problem yet. Say frankly Cindy. Aren't there no more mystery fog among us?" Reply Rangga.

Cindy nodded her head. His teary eyes looked at Rangga's face deeply.

"You're crying Cindy? Say what torments your feelings. Do you still doubt my love?" Rangga said convincingly.

"Rangga. Can you get me out of that mess?" Cindy's sigh slashed.

"You have to say Cindy first. Trust me, without you my life would be meaningless." Reply Rangga.

"Rangga.. next week I have to face the court to settle Romeo's case. So what can I do Rangga? And my father will be caught up in this." Definitely Cindy.

"Calm your heart Cindy. You must believe in God's justice. Those who are guilty will get the rewards they deserve. If you never make a mistake, God won't punish you." Terang Rangga's.

"But my father..." Cindy Say.

"Cindy, I told you, no, accept the fact that your father took his life." Rangga.

"But I don't have to." Reply Cindy.

"Well what can be done. Hopefully there is a way

another one that could finish your father. I'll help you out completely Cindy. Believe me, if you don't make a mistake, my efforts won't be in vain. And you don't have to be afraid to say what happened. The judge will be able to compare the cases. May God grant mercy upon you." Rangga said as she stroked Cindy's hair affectionately.

He is deeply moved to see Cindy's game of fate always shackled by inner torment.
