"By the way, what did you guys bring? Looks like you guys brought a lot of stuff," Julian asked another nanny.
"Ah, we brought some ingredients to cook later. We also brought some used items for those that are still worth using" said one of the caregivers.
Julian frowned after hearing the nanny's answer, then he asked, "Actually I was curious, can I ask you a question?"
"Of course, go ahead" nods Lenna.
"Usually the orphanage will get funding from the city government, do you guys get it?" ask Julian.
"Ah right. We get funding from the city government, but somehow half a year ago we didn't get any more funding" Lenna said, breathing sadly.
"Huh? Are you asking why?" Julian thinks that the people who run this town are really bad.
Lenna nodded and said, "We've already visited the city office but we only get an answer that the government doesn't have money for us."
"They also said that the government would remove the orphanage in the next few months but did not say why" he added.
Julian believes that if the government has extra money, it is impossible not to have it. That means there are elves who embezzle funds belonging to orphanages or indeed they are the only ones who do not want to give it.
"Then, how do you survive if there's no money?" ask Julian.
"The nannies work in some stores, we also sometimes ask for leftover food from restaurants, and pick up second-hand items to use or resell" Lenna replied.
"Even when they're in the most difficult circumstances, they don't beg and rely on themselves for money or food" Julian thought.
Julian then called Claire who was talking to another nanny. Claire who heard Julian call her came immediately.
"What's up, Master?" ask Claire.
"Give them our stock of meat" Julian said.
Because Claire has a storage ring, now the stock of meat, vegetables, spices, other food ingredients and cookware will be stored by her.
"Ready!" Claire immediately pulled out a lot of meat from her storage ring on the table.
Julian said to give her the meat stock so Claire took out all the meat she had stored. The meat even made a small mountain on the table.
"This dark red one is bear meat, and then there's chicken, beef, goat, and some other meat I forgot because there's too much," claire said as she scratched the back of her head.
"This..!?" Lenna and the other caregivers widened their eyes at the towering pile of meat on the table.
"Claire, give them vegetables too. Only you and Karin eat vegetables so it's okay, isn't it?" Julian.
"Fufu, of course it's okay. I also know that Master doesn't like vegetables." Claire took the vegetables out of her storage ring.
Julian touched his chin and said, "Well, I don't know all this meat for how long but for all of us this meat is for five days, so for you guys it might be even longer."
"Five days!?" Lenna and the other nannies were shocked.
They did not expect that the towering flesh in front of them would be for just five days for Julian and the others.
Unable to blame, Claire and Karina have normal then normal portions but Julian, Nimi, and Mine have abnormal eating portions can even be up to three times that of ordinary people.
It was because the three of them were fighting with their bodies that made their energy run out and in the end they were filling up with a lot of food.
Lenna and the female nanny immediately nodded and started preparing the cookware. Then the male caregiver helps to carry the meat and dismember it.
...----------------...
The dishes have been made, they cook a lot of types of dishes ranging from fried, boiled, steamed, and so on.
The nanny went to the children's room and asked them to come to the dining room. When it came, the children immediately drooled and stared at the dish on the dining table with sparkling eyes.
"Everything is given by these brothers, so thank them first before eating" Lenna said with a happy smile.
"Thank you brother!" the kids thanked me very loudly.
"Yes, equally. Well, please eat it," Julian nods.
The children sat in their seats and immediately ate the dish before their eyes. There were even some children scrambling to take the same meat.
"Mr Julian, thank you very much. I haven't seen the faces of very happy children in a long time" Lenna said, shedding tears of joy.
"Together, let's eat too," Julian joined the children to eat together.
They all ate while chatting with laughter, the smiling faces of the children also colored the atmosphere to be more harmonious.
...----------------...
"Sir, what if you stay here? Although it's not big, but there are still empty rooms for you to occupy" Lenna told Julian.
"May as well, since it was late at night and maybe some inns had closed," Julian nods to Lenna's offer.
Lenna smiled and nodded, leading them to an empty room on the second floor that was quite spacious with several beds that looked old.
"Master, that doesn't mean I'm thinking rudely but I think this building will soon collapse" Claire said as she observed the condition of the room.
There have been many holes in the wall, wooden windows that have been a lot of porous, cracked window glass, and so forth.
"I also think like that, this building is tens or even hundreds of years old and has never been renovated" Julian nods.
"Hows it? Are we gonna help?" asked Karina in a hopeful tone.
"Well, we'll help. But let's wait until the city lord calls me, I'll talk to him about the orphanage" Julian said.
"Good!" they nodded happily as Julian decided to help the orphanage.
There was no particular reason why Julian decided to help the orphanage. He felt sorry for the conditions that befell this orphanage plus there were children who were still innocent.
Julian could not let the children lose their smiles and wanted to help them as they were orphans as well.
He had a lot of money and he was also proficient in magic spells, so there was no harm in him helping this orphanage.
Even if he did not have money or strength, he would also help the orphanage with all his ability.
"Well, seeing them is like seeing myself in the past. I won't let them experience the same thing as me. I was also happy to see the happy faces of the children" Julian thought before he fell asleep.
