LUCEM
LII Chapter

"You're back" Moonflower said.

I turned my head, Moonflower was standing in the doorway. Nodding for him. I tidied up Marbella's blanket and walked up to Moonflower.

"You want to talk to me?" bargained.

"If you don't feel tired" he replied.

"Come on!" take me, walk ahead of him.

We headed for the backyard, it was quieter there and the tent was in the front yard. Moonflower asked me to wait while she made two glasses of chocolate for us.

The grass is a little damp, I didn't expect the dimensional space to even have dew. The moon had just passed from the full moon and faded away, but the stars looked increasingly beautiful and shining, flickering.

"For you," Moonflower with a brown scent from her cup.

"The grass is damp, do you want us to sit in a chair?" my many.

"No, dew is good for our feet" Moonflower swung her legs between the grass.

"Yes, your legs look very healthy" I said.

I went in for a seat and came back. "Please."

Moonflower sits with both legs bent. I was cross-legged beside him. "What's our topic tonight?"

"I know you're thinking about that girl, right?" moonflower.

I raised an eyebrow. "We can talk about whatever you want, someone forbid me to sleep."

Moonflower punched me on the shoulder softly and laughed.

"I was reluctant to discuss this with you before meeting Marbella" Moonflower said.

"Well, forget it. I just don't think you're as shady as the first time we met, it's a pity" I said.

"Yes!? So you like a chatty girl," Moonflower nodded softly.

"Not really," I said.

Our light conversation continues. Moonflower was more chatty as she was busy on leisurely errands, I was able to see that after a long time of interacting with her. Maybe he himself didn't realize it.

I smile at his jokes sometimes. She looks sweet in the dim light of night. His red hair was fluttering, the dots on his face, his little nose was blunt. "Moonflower is a flower that blooms at night and is round like a full moon."

"Emm?" Moonflower.

"Your name, that's a flower, right?" my many.

"Umm yeah, moonflower is the most romantic plant you can grow in a garden" he replied.

"Oh, romantic?" I said.

" You disagree? ah, yes..moonflower is also referred to as the devil's trumpet and is also slightly poisonous," she shrugged.

"I kinda agree to that," I laughed mockingly.

"Different as what?" I asked by looking at him.

Moonflower stood up from her seat. "See this!"

I flinched as Moonflower's body suddenly fell to the ground and a large black bird with shiny feathers stood there, and in an instant it returned to its human form. Moonflower spread out her hands with her head tilted, then she sat back down at her original place leisurely.

Countless times I've seen Marbella change her form from human to cat or vice versa, still something that surprises me every time she does. And this is the first time I've seen another human being who can transform into a different form. My body reacts, goosebumps.

"Drink your chocolate!" Moonflower pushed the glass in my hand.

I obey.

"Sorry to surprise you" he said.

"It's okay, Marbi always does that" I said.

"Our sizes are very different," Moonflower spread her arms.

"Yes, you're so big" I sipped chocolate in a cup.

Moonflower's size far exceeded Marbella's, was she some kind of ancient bird? Then why is a bird named Moonflower, he's even black. Should I give him a more appropriate little name? A name that sounds better, like.... Blackmoon, Wonder Moon or something that contains dark and mystical elements. My eyebrows are linked, stringing together some names that might fit his image.

"Aaww.." I grimaced holding my head.

"What are you thinking?" Moonflower put on a funny annoyed face.

I grimaced. "No."

"Whatever," he said with a frowning face. He turned his body behind me.

"Geez, I pissed off this big bird."

"Moonflower, me. I just kind of thought you had nice red hair. I mean, your hair and that shiny black fur—," I confusedly continued my words.

"I know you must have been surprised by my change earlier, it's okay," Moonflower spoke without turning her head.

"Just a little. Umm, are you the kind of bird that can fly?" ask me while raising one hand into the air the equivalent of my head.

Moonflower turned to look at me, remaining with a scowling face. I pulled my hand down. "Er... I—."

Moonflower took the cup from my grasp and put it down. Then he clasped my hands tightly, and stood up slowly, I followed him.

"Be prepared!" said it.

Moonflower moved behind me.

A powerful jolt, my body floated in the air. Yellow claws wrapped around my stomach.

"God...!!" my groan, my body shot out as fast as lightning towards the ground.

I stood up with Moonflower hugging my trembling body from behind. My knees wobbly as if I could no longer support my body weight if Moonflower was not in a position to hold me tightly. Slowly I felt Moonflower's body shake at my back and, her laughing voice broke.

My hand held her hand that was still wrapped around my stomach, I tried to look back. He laughed freely there, I looked back at our hands, closed my eyes, caught my breath, and we were blown away together. It was a crazy night.
