LUCEM

LUCEM
LXXXII Chapter

Venus joins Moonflower to keep Mars in her room in an attempt to move away from the tense conversation between the two girls out there. Marbella and Magenta.

"I understand. Looks like you've reneged on the terms of that arrangement. ”

"For something you care about" said Magenta. “Why are we even talking about this? Why do we forget the fact that we have just been attacked by an owanna? And we still need to troop the rats and rescue them and also ascertain who the intruder is, because he obviously came from our rat group, and they should know—”

“You can tell us whatever you want,” said Marbella. "But I need to make sure that my sister isn't someone you can always play with or bait. Didn't you see I'm still alive?"

Something in Marbella's tone made Magenta feel fear. "What the hell is going on? Why are you so obsessed with protection against him?

Marbella stopped moving. "Because," he said. " I know more than you think."

"What do you mean?" Magenta felt blood drain from his body. "Cannot be. Not possible."

Marbella said nothing.

“Come, Marbella, don't crazy— I'm not perfect, but I'll never—”

"Hei— What just happened?" Jiso, panting and panicking, ran towards the two. “I saw Mars entering a door with an unusual step and he didn't get out of there after a while inside. So, I then found Jimmy and brought him in to accompany me to see the situation inside. But when I checked, I saw— I saw—”

"Yes?"

"What's going on?" Jiso's voice was rising.

Magenta began to offer an explanation. "I don't know what Jiso meant, but I also worry that I know him too well to deny his thoughts. My heart says Mars will never betray us, but my brain tells me that Lucio is usually right when it comes to spouting this kind of nonsense.

"What do you mean my sister's going to betray me?" Marbella stared at Magenta.

"No, I mean... It could potentially happen. But I don't want to justify Lucio's actions against Mars at all. That's wrong." Magenta explained.

"If your consideration is too detrimental to you for involving us, then I will withdraw all my troops. We'll move without your support" Marbella threatened.

Jiso moves to Marbella's side. Giving mute support to the girl.

From a distance Venus is visible, her brown skin sparkles in the bright sunlight, and relief floods Jiso. Is it from outside?

At last.

Venus will know more about Magenta or Lucio. She must. And anything he knows will almost certainly help free Mars from any affiliation with this mess. And as soon as they can finish this freak accident, they'll be able to get out of here and start the rescue.

Therehewas.

That's plan.

It made Jiso feel happy to have a plan. But when we got close enough, Venus narrowed her eyes toward Jiso and Marbella, and the look on her face sent a new wave of fear through the rat's body.

And all do.

Marbella seemed to be holding back in anger.

Jiso tried to calm down.

Venus looks fed up and tired with all.

The man was ordinary in composure, yet today he lost it all. Even smile.

Magenta, Jiso was surprised the woman kept too many things. In addition to her magic doors, she turns out to be connected to many other unexpected things.

Marbella very rarely loses her true patience. But here, since they came back from the last practice... The atmosphere is never the same again. The split is visible, but what the rat does not yet understand is Marbella's persistence to survive and negotiate. Like he's no ordinary self.

"You've been mistaken by letting men of unnatural sanity roam our homes" Venus' voice spoke softly to Magenta.

"But this—," Magenta did not continue his remarks.

And the problem is, Jiso doesn't even know which side Venus is on. The man seemed to have a gray concern.

In the end, Magenta was right about Mars, but he was also wrong. Mars did not plan anything evil, he did not do anything for the purpose of treason. The girl was named Anna, she was born from the future and was raised as the child of Venus and Magenta. Growing up as a good girl before, but something has changed her as long as they are stuck in Grimoland.

The mistake of Mars is to think that everyone has the same worldview as him. And Lucio, that man only has half his sanity. Biologically he is the father of Anna beyond any other complexity.

Unlike the general parents. Lucio and Magenta, they're involved at least. And Venus in many adventures, she is more of a governess than a warrior. In his days before returning to the dimensional space he was a man of concern for anyone, a social worker, especially for children.

Not only for Anna, she even tried to build a house and protection for the marginalized. It's all about love and humanity. Although he knew that Magenta was preparing to fight against the Owanna army, and a plan behind it.

That piece of the story was enough for Jiso to understand, at least slightly clear up the Martian situation. But Lucio's senseless act of wounding the young man, could not be proclaimed even though Magenta's statement was corroborated by Venus regarding his psyche.

Marbella or Mars or the thymus army are not always violent. Especially Mars, he did not like to use his power in such an unauthorized way. He was more like a compassionate figure to most of his group.

But here -

The young man went through a period of advancing and retreating too quickly. His emotions were toyed with, and senseless events may have given him an invisible shock. But he's still an innocent Mars.

It didn't take long for an experienced mouse like Jiso to realize that Venus and Magenta were different from what they looked like. They're pretty good, but they also have a double plan.

That's why he doesn't like to spend a lot of time on pleasantries, and he's mostly aloof. Only a short time later, driven by curiosity, he talked about spending more time with the man. They don't always eat with others. And Venus doesn't always participate in group matters either. In many times, Venus also displays that she is a loner.

But Jiso did not choose to be blind, he was a vigilant mouse.

Marbella, the girl seemed to have understood everything enough. He was silent not shaking. Even the story told by Venus does not make it show a certain reaction. The water on his face remains the same. When everything was enough, he brought Jiso to accompany Mars.
