LUCEM
LXVI Chapter

I ducked under Maya's black fireball throw and grabbed her in the bear's arms, I grimaced as close contact meant the punch on my body landed with an even more devastating effect. He might not fight with his usual skills, but he struck hard, and with a deadly source of relief power.

When I got the momentum, I exerted my strength, made an explosion and pulled my sister's body out through the empty window, the woman's shrill roar filling my ears.

Magenta snatched the body of the brown-haired man. And the woman did not just let it go along with the man's resistance.

"No, you don't! You stay here!" Magenta's stern voice cut off the woman's request to take her along with the man Magenta had mastered.

More violent sounds were heard before the wind and my speed snatched them away. Magenta cannot fly, I am the only one left with the ability to flap wings in space and hold my physique in a half-human form.

Maya struggled to break my grip on her, but I didn't let go even though my whole body felt like it was hit by a truck. I could not defend against his barrage of punches and stop him from flying back towards Magenta at the same time. It was quite difficult to concentrate on the pain and the effort to keep pushing us up. We're miles away from home now, but we need to go further. It has to be further in order that the owanna or anyone else does not find our trail and follow.

As Maya suddenly stopped her attack, I felt a momentary relief that instantly turned into alarm. He would never give up this easily. It became clear when his hands, no longer clenched, slid over me viciously, seeking efficiency.

And took out one of the silver knives I had tucked in my coat.

Our faces were almost level, so I locked eyes with it as the short sword pointed towards my chest. His gaze was still flashing green, his aura breaking with deadly intent, but I could not defend myself without letting go. If I did, he would go back to the man in Magenta's hands, and I might have to punish him to death just like if I stuck a knife in his heart.

If these were my last moments on earth, I would spend them fighting to save my sister with everything I had. If our roles were reversed, I knew he would do the same.

The blade of the sword tore through my skin, sliding into my chest with the sensation of fire made of metal. My body responded instantly as the silver iron grazed my heart. All my strength seemed to leave me, causing my speed to evaporate. Maya and I started falling from the sky, but instead of pushing her away to save myself, I used my last strength to tighten my arms around her.

"I love you," I managed to get out in the middle of an excruciating pain. When the last words before leaving, there was nothing I wanted to say other than that sentence for him to know.

Something flashes in his gaze. The blazing emerald gaze became speckled with dark brown and its aura fragmented, like an invisible force hitting it with enough force to crush it.

And when the chance to turn the knife and end the life she had, Maya chose to pull it out of my chest - and smashed it into her own chest.

"No!" I shouted, grabbing the knife while gripping it with my other arm. Our gliding speed slowed as my strength again flooded my body after the blade came out of my heart. Now the silver blade weakens its power like a supernatural kryptonite. Only my frantic grip on the hilt prevented Maya from twisting the short sword and tearing her heart apart, ensuring her true death.

"Fowl girl." The word was thrown so quietly that I barely heard it above the roar of the wind. "You have to let me die. Now, while I'm still holding him!"

I know what he means and I don't care. I pulled the knife out, threw it to the side. The bones made a rough sound and his face changed, as if he was somehow in more pain without a silver knife in his heart than with it.

"You won't die," I swear, then I hugged her tighter, which was filled with all the love, pain, fear, and frustration for the past two days.

I still hugged him when without me knowing it he took out a fireball and shot it in my head from the outside. A precious second. I pulled the standby trigger on my left hand. I had to shoot Maya in the head, wounding her again after she woke up in a deadly mood.

Then, he was safely tucked away in a place that used to be the bottom of the magic weapon assembly facility. A chain that was heavy enough. wrapped around it to force the intermediate magician to his knees.

However, below here Maya is not an intermediate witch with the intervention of princess Onanna. She stood straight and glared at me, her bright green gaze swearing revenge. The wink of any emotion that made him stop before turning the knife inside me was gone, which made me deeply regret. But, Maya who survived our fight is in one piece, it's quite a relief for me.

Magenta drew a red magic symbol on the ground, we will find out what kind of demon we have to pursue to reverse the spell that princess Onanna used.

"I left you less than thirty minutes away. How did you get that kind of blood so fast?" I wondered. Then my sight narrowed. "You didn't kill anyone, did you?"

Magenta sat back to look at me cynically. "I will never let a very good virgin be wasted like that. He'll never remember."

I hate the idea of taking blood from someone who is weak, but Magenta always knew we would need it if pressed for time.

"That" pointed at Magenta, drawing the last symbol.

"What do you think you're doing?" Maya asked, saying her first words since she told me to let her die.

"May there be no more girls who are fooled by love." Then he, Magenta recited a short spell, three times.

"Stop!" Maya Jerit.

Bones crunching, chains stiffening. The metal creaked but was still able to withstand it. That's why Magenta and I spent most of the night preparing this place.

For a time Maya did not move in a circle with the red symbol. But then the brown-haired man stepped out from behind one of the support poles casually as if he had been there all along.

"Maya, I'm sorry... Come back, we can continue all the good that we have built together all this time. I'll return the ball, I—I'm just fooled. I promise I'll help you get that ball again" he said, trying to negotiate.

Maya reacts, she thrashes. The green glint in his eyes again flickered brown. I let out a sigh of relief. Magenta understood enough to read the situation of one's heart. I let the man chirp as much as he could.

Maya crying. Condemn the resigned brown-haired man. When the atmosphere returned silent, Maya hissed.

"Damn," Magenta ran over.

"Devil Onanna, he's trying to pull something out here" Magenta said. Magenta's body started to emit light.

I moved cautiously, making sure that I had everything I needed inside my coat.

The brown-haired man panicked. He pulled a stack of banknotes from behind the jacket he was wearing and forced it into Magenta's hands. "Please take this, release me—I don't have the ability to fight demons, please."

Magenta looked at the man in disdain and brusquely put him away.

I immediately silenced the man behind a pole.

Magenta's body shimmered more and more brightly. I'm raising my vigilance. Grand attack.

"You shouldn't be here" said Maya, blurting out those words at me.

"You want to see my power?" Maya grins.

Maya growls, then chuckles. "I can tell you one thing directly. He's not under a spell like you think. He has offered himself to me for a voluntary deal."

"Shut up," hissed Magenta.

I blinked in disbelief at that statement and Magenta's voice. It was taller, and it sounded like he had suddenly lost his normal accent.

The ceiling shook, the light from Magenta's body made me blind. A cluster of black smoke rushed in all of a sudden. And vanished when the light from Magenta's body touched them quickly, the owanna disappeared leaving a scream that hurt the ears.

"May!" I exclaimed.

His body darted along with the black fog. I ran in pursuit, but not fast enough to get out of that spacious enough room and my sight was late to recover.

Magenta darted ahead of me, I limped and caught up. Maya in the air. Magenta cursed in a higher and unfamiliar voice and vowed to inflict a terrible punishment on the princess of Onanna. Maya ignores that and looks at Magenta patiently.

As I prepare to jump up.

"Good bye!" said Maya.

In an instant his body shot away towards the dark forest. Magenta released huge waves from his body. Sweeping every inch of land and air towards the dark forest. A place we cannot enter. Maya managed to get in.
