Becca and Ben didn't see anyone. Although their attention was focused carefully, the atmosphere still looked lonely. Just like the circumstances of the first time they arrived at the lake. The place was only crowded with the sounds of birds and insects that were mutually unpretentious.
"We better get home now!" said Becca who stepped foot first.
"Maybe it's just a hunter or a person who practices shooting!" Ben tried to think positively.
"You're right! it might be so." Becca agrees with Ben. The two continued their journey to get out of the forest area. Now they walk side by side along the edge of the paved road.
Becca had been grinning herself for watching Ben's performance. How not? his best friend really looks funny with a small t-shirt on his body.
"Just take off my shirt! you look really bad. Later all your fans in this city will turn away from you!" becca's advice while looking at the clothes that Ben was wearing.
"Don't you say you didn't want to see my nipples on display?!" timpal Ben with his pouting face.
"Oh my god! why are you even talking about that." Becca twists a lazy eyeball.
Suddenly from a distance there was a car traveling at high speed. The dry leaves that have been passed by the four-wheeled vehicle are scattered just like that. The person driving the car was in a hurry. Either chase the urgent thing or run away from something.
Wush!
The car manages to surprise Becca and Ben. Becca again lost her balance, and nearly fell. But fortunately Ben immediately swiftly held his arm. Until Becca's body doesn't touch the paved road.
It just so happened that Becca reflex turned her head inside the car to see who the driver was. He was able to witness a man with a tall stature and felt familiar to him.
"Jack?" becca's forehead frowned.
"You sure?" ask Ben to make sure. The attention of both of them was fixed on the car that had just passed them.
"Looks like. I'm also pretty sure it's his cadillac!"
"He's a freak. And what makes me wonder the most is that she lives alone in Charlie's big house." Ben reveals.
"Yes, that's what made me suspect him from the start. Even I still don't know Jack's real job!" sahut Becca's.
"But you just had wine with him last night!" tymphal Ben's.
Becca stares resentfully at Ben and says, "My intention is to go there just to investigate, but it's self-sufficient."
"It's confusing if we think too much about it. Never mind, you better not get close to him!" ben's advice is firm.
"That's what I want. But my room was exactly opposite to his house. How can I not be suspicious of him, if I always manage to catch Jack doing something weird." Becca grunts rough.
"Most importantly now, nothing bad is happening in this environment" Ben said expectantly. Becca who heard only beared her head.
After Ben's return, Becca herself again enjoys her time at home. Honestly, empty activities make the girl feel bored. Even so he tried to entertain himself by surfing the internet through his laptop. He was now sitting casually on his bed.
"Huaaah..." Becca yawned and stretched her body for a moment. He stood facing the window. His eyes closed for a moment. And when she opened her eyes again, Becca's vision went straight to Jack's house. He happened to see Jack talking to two burly men and dressed all in black.
Becca who saw the reflex widened her eyes. Then he immediately hid himself by subduing his body. The girl was now under her own window.
Becca's heart was racing again because it began to be attacked by fear. But he kept a positive mind, because Jack and the two mysterious men did not manage to catch him.
'Ben's right, from now on it looks like I should stay away from Jack. Good or bad, now I don't care about Jack!'s business anymore!' Inner Becca convinced herself.
...***...
Time passed, now it's almost a week Becca has settled in Louisiana, or rather in the block area called Eden Street. He's also distanced himself from Jack, since the wine incident three days ago. Becca never even opened her window curtain again. If he wants fresh air, the girl prefers to sit quietly in the window on the roof. It itself faces the paved road.
David has managed to get a leave permit from his superiors. She now rushed home to give the good news to her two children.
Upon his arrival at home, David meets Becca first. At first he did not find the whereabouts of his eldest son in the room. After tracing the house, David finally found Becca sitting near the window on the roof.
"Becca, why are you here?" david asked as he moved his legs to approach Becca.
"Just get some fresh air." Becca replied in a flat tone. David slowly positioned himself sitting opposite Becca. He stared at the look on his daughter's face which looked very serious staring at the laptop screen. With his anti-radiation glasses, Becca looks like a genius who is an expert in IT. But that is his skill.
Now Becca is collecting her savings through bitcoin. He looks like unemployed. But Becca is very smart to earn money through her IT skills.
"Is there anything I can help you with?" becca said to David who had just been silent staring at him.
"I've been on leave for two days. I want to take you and Jonas on vacation somewhere" David said, carving a faint smile on his face.
Becca who heard him raised her head. He immediately removed the glasses that were adrift between his two ears. The girl tilted her head with a twitch of her forehead in astonishment.
"Are you kidding me now?" ask Becca to make sure.
"Does my face look like a joke?" David turned his expression seriously.
"Just you're not like you used to be" Becca replied.
"I want to make our relationship a little bit better. I want to be that father..." David could not finish his sentence because he was too embarrassed. A middle-aged man did not seem to be an expert at showing affection. Especially to his own son.
Becca just mute. He deliberately focused all his attention on David. Because he also wants the care of his father to his present condition.
"Okay, just get ready! we'll leave in the morning!" david said, rising to stand up. He seemed to be ignoring the sentence he was about to say.
"All right." Becca is back flat. And when David was almost down the stairs, Becca called him back.
"David!" his daughter's call turned David.
"I hope this time you won't let me down again!" continued Becca, who was immediately responded by David with a nod of the head along with a smile.
