Me And The Mysterious Man's

Me And The Mysterious Man's
Chapter 40 - The Debate

Becca followed David. His face was a little grim. She doesn't want to leave Jack, but it's harder to turn down her father's invitation. A lot of curiosity enveloped his thoughts about Jack. But Becca keeps denying that Jack is a bad guy. Everything is evident from the man's concern for her. Plus his feelings have been carried away to admire the figure of Jack.

"Come, let your feet be treated first." David took Becca to the medical team who happened to have arrived. Becca's bleeding soles were treated immediately.

"You should explain everything. Why did you go here instead of prom? Then why did Jack take you out the back door?" timpal David while doing a waist-running pose. His tone sounded very serious.

"I don't know, I'm just following his lead!" firmly Becca who continued with a rough grunt.

"I'm so confused! why are you always in a place that gets you in trouble?! the other day on campus, and now what else? at the Aaron's. Becca, you should think before you choose to do something!" Omel David with a tone of emphasis. His hands pointed several times towards the princess. He was completely acting like an old man in general.

"What?! why do you blame me? you think I know all the bad things are going to happen?!" Becca who was sitting immediately stood up, to return David's gaze that seemed to be ignited by anger.

"You-"

"David!" the call of David's colleague named Stevan suddenly came. She tells Becca that she also has to come to the police station to provide an explanation.

"Now you have no choice but to come to my office." David frowned annoyedly. Next he immediately stepped towards the comrades he was in.

Becca's leg has been treated. Actually the wound is not too severe. Just a small scratch that drains a little blood. Becca is fully capable of walking normally. His gaze circulates in all directions in order to find Jack's presence. But his sense of sight did not catch the figure he was looking for.

...***...

Jack was still in his place. Letting David and Becca keep walking away. She actually felt somewhat guilty, for recklessly bringing Becca along with her. Jack never expected an attack to happen. His phone suddenly let out a ringing sound and spread all his worries.

"Jack, why are you still there? we shouldn't have dealt with the police too far. Don't tell me you're worried about Becca," Mike chimed in from across the phone.

"Yes, slightly. I'll take care of this matter as soon as possible. You don't have to worry!"

"What?! but-the-"

Jack immediately turns off the phone call without listening to Mike's words first. He was now walking towards Aaron's front yard. From a distance Jack can watch Becca and David are busy arguing. To his right also appears Aaron who is getting various questions from the police. The silver-haired man waved at Jack.

"You called me?" jack asked when he arrived in front of Aaron.

"Yes, I wanted to tell the police that you were the one who helped me" Aaron said, patting Jack on the shoulder. He was so grateful for what Jack had done. In fact, Jack has his own intention in doing the action.

Despite Aaron's defense, Jack still has to go to the police station. At least he acted as a witness who had to explain in detail the shooting incident. Moreover, Jack was the first to realize the motion of the suspect before pulling the trigger.

Jack was with Aaron for a while into the house. That's when Becca can't find her presence. But after a while, Jack appears and rushes into his car.

One by one everyone went to the police station. Including Becca and Jack. But this time the two were in different cars.

"Your initial guess about Jack turned out to be true. Now I also feel that there is something strange about him," said David as he struggled with his steering gear.

"But he let your leg hurt? is that a good man?!"

"I didn't even realize my leg was hurt. Especially Jack, we were too busy saving ourselves" Becca explained calmly. "Again, the wound is not too deep either. You don't have to overdo it!"

"What did you say? overrated?!" David shook his head in annoyance for a moment then continued, "which parent is not worried when he finds out his child is in a dangerous place. What if the bullet hit you?! what if the culprit did something worse?"

"But the important thing didn't happen right?!" sahut Becca held out both hands.

"Stay still!! from tomorrow look for a job, so you can occupy yourself like normal people." David showed a sour face full of annoyance. Unintentionally, he continued to step on the gas pedal even harder. Until the car drove at high speed. But because it was past midnight, the streets looked very quiet.

"You think I'm not normal?!" Becca was offended by David's words. He was shocked in disbelief. The debate that had not happened in a few days, finally happened again.

"Absolutely. At your current age, you shouldn't relax too much! find a job, or if you want to continue your studies!"

"What the fuck! I can take care of it myself. Don't press me! you think everything is as easy as flicking a finger?!"

"Stop! let's continue this conversation when you're done with the testimony." David tried to calm down and ignored all his daughter's words. His chest tempo up and down as he tried to hold his apoplexy.

"You should have shown your care long ago, instead of continuing to spend your time with your precious work" Becca said without looking at her interlocutor. While David only fell silent, because he did not intend to make the debate longer. Not long after, they arrived at the police station.

Becca is immediately welcome to explain what she knows when she's at the party. He spent almost half an hour giving his testimony. The girl is now walking out of the police station.

Becca has no intention of seeing David. It just so happened that he watched Jack just get into his car. Without a second thought, Becca rushes to follow Jack.

"Beca?" Jack frowned when he saw Becca sitting next to him.

"You're going home, right? then I'll just come with you!" becca. Not caring about the confused expression Jack's face showed.

"David know?" ask Jack.

"Yes!" Becca answered briefly. One word he said was just a lie. He did it because he was tired of arguing with David. Going back home with Jack might be better.

Jack finally runs his car. Adhere to the wishes of the girl who looks sullen beside him. The two are snarling each other. Let the sound of the car engine echo. Highlight the lights on the road occasionally give a glow into the car.

Becca's eyes slowly glazed over. I don't know what made him feel. Maybe every sentence David said a few hours ago stuck in his memory.

"Do you ever feel tired?.." murmured Becca who snorted her nose once. It seemed like the feeling of his dread had already caused his nose and eyes to water slightly.

Jack looked at Becca. He tried to find a proper sentence to respond to Becca's words. Again, he remembered the past. It comes to Jack's mind to tell Becca all her past. But Jack knew he had to be able to limit himself.
