Chapter 23 - Jack Or Ben?

"Did I hear wrong?" David tried to make sure.

"I just love the fishing rod you bought." Becca tried to find an excuse.

"You're right too, there's no harm. After all David, consider this as our apology for what happened yesterday" said Jonas who seemed to be very familiar with his brother's intentions.

David had no power to hold back his pleasure, his mouth was slowly carving out a smile. She also approved the proposal of her two children. The middle-aged man also decided to find the nearest fishing location.

After finding the right fishing area, David stopped his car. He wanted to hire a fishing boat.

"Do you want to fish in the sea?" ask Jonas.

"Where do you think? the puddle in front of us is the sea. Fuck up!" timpal Becca walks with David.

"I mean, we can go fishing on the fringes." Jonas extended both hands in wonder.

"You're there yourself!" sahut Becca doesn't care. He kept walking away. Jonas finally could only let out a long sigh, then was forced to follow Becca.

The ship sailed slowly across the ocean. A skilful captain was driving, accompanying the Green family fishing activities. The sky seemed bright as if it approved of David's fishing plan that should have been done since yesterday.

Becca walked towards the bow of the ship that was in front. He let the wind blow on him. Makes her long hair fly in unidirectional. Becca stared at the sea water that looked so clear. The splashes of water created from the ship hypnotized him.

"I don't know what made you change..." David was suddenly next to Becca. It seems that she indeed deliberately followed Becca towards the bow of the ship.

"Don't be too sentimental, David." Becca smiled thinly still in a state of fixated staring at the sea water. David was heard chuckling while putting both hands into his pants pocket.

"By the way, can I ask you a question?" Becca finally turned her gaze towards David.

"Where did you know that Jonas and I were at the playground?"

"Oh that... Jack called me, he said he was taking care of something urgent, so he couldn't take you home" David said as he floated his ass to a wooden block.

"Oh so..." Becca lowered her face. He who was about to scold Jack, finally had to keep that feeling far away.

But David instead interpreted the expression that Becca showed, as a disappointment. "Why do you look disappointed? don't tell me you're wish-"

"Of course not!" Becca made a quick sound before David finished his sentence.

"Becca seems to like Jack!" Jonas who had been sitting in the shade said. It seems like David and Becca's conversation was clearly heard in her eavesdropping.

"Jonas!!" Becca throws a pelotage at her sister.

"I think you're close to Ben" said David, causing Becca to turn to him.

"Ben? why do you think that?" Becca shook her head in wonder.

"Because I can see clearly that Ben likes you!" david is sure.

"I agree with you, Dad!" Jonas smiled with satisfaction.

"Bffffft! what the fuck!" Becca even laughed for a moment while holding the area of his eel. He completely distrusted what David and Jonas had told him.

"Why are you laughing? that's not funny at all," cynical Jonas.

Becca slowly stopped her laughter and said, "Me and Ben have been friends since childhood. Of course we always seem close. Ben can't possibly like me!"

"I'm more supportive of Jack!" Jonas raised his hand.

Becca who saw the behavior of her father and younger brother was just flabbergasted. His eyes rolled lazily. He deliberately kept his mouth shut because he did not want to discuss something that he thought was not important at all.

"But David, I wonder why you chose Ben. Aren't you close to Jack, too?" asked Jonas who seemed curious about David's reasoning.

"Because she's known Becca since she was a kid. I'm sure he'll be the man-"

"Enough! enough already! I can't stand listening to this talk anymore!" Becca shut her ears tightly. Then get into the cabin of the ship. Looking at Becca's giggles, David and Jonas just chuckle at each other.

The captain stopped the ship slowly. They arrived at a location that was said to be filled with many fish. As a result David, Becca and Jonas immediately prepare the fishing gear and act. After a long time, the three can enjoy the time with a more harmonious atmosphere.

"Let's bet!" take Jonas to Becca.

"Okay, who's afraid! who loses must obey the will of the winner!" reply Becca agreed.

"All right!" Jonas builds his spirit. He immediately stalled the hook.

David who had observed the behavior of his two children smiled with satisfaction. His eyes shimmered slightly as he felt moved by what had happened just now. I think he wants to stop time for a while. In order to let both of his children continue with him. Not growing up and always by his side.

"Later I'll tell you when I get home, okay?" jonas replied with a smile that of course irritated Becca. They soon continued on their way home.

Meanwhile, in front of the Green family residence. A car stopped slowly. A man immediately got out of the car. He walked towards the door of the Green family home and knocked on it.

Jack who had just walked out of his house immediately spoke in a high tone, "They are on vacation!" he added a smile. Then stepped closer to the man who was none other than Ben.

"really? has it been a while?" ask Ben seriously.

"Come on, maybe it'll be home soon" Jack replied casually. "Oh yes, my name is Jack!" he continued, extending his hand.

"Ben!" ben welcomes Jack's hand.

"You were Becca's friend the other day, weren't you?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Oh, may I ask you something about Becca?" Jack looked seriously. It makes Ben feel uncomfortable. Bad prejudices began to appear in his heart.

"About?" Ben is serious.

"Did he like to make trouble long ago?"

"No! why do you think of it that way!" firmly Ben while frowning.

"Calm down, man, I'm just worried about him. You as her friend have to take good care of her, okay?" jack said as he patted Ben's shoulder gently. But his treatment was instead reciprocated with a sharp gaze by Ben.
