Chapter 13 - Barbeque Night

The sun seems to be descending further into the western horizon. A sign of darkness will say hello soon. The ocean waves are rising. Becca sat on the balcony alone. Staring at the beautiful orange that adorns the horizon. The sea breeze kept hitting his long hair. Occasionally the girl hooked a few strands of hair to the earlobe. Both of his hands were casually folded over the wooden fence of his balcony.

David happens to witness Becca's solitude. He moved his legs to get closer to his daughter. Now the middle-aged man positioned himself next to Becca. He put on the exact same style as Becca.

"What's up David?" Becca starts the conversation.

"I just want to talk" said David.

"Speak." Becca flat-footed.

"I'm really sorry, for not being able to save Sarah in time." David bluntly. While Becca accidentally did not talk, she wanted to hear her father's speech more fully.

"I should have been able to go faster by then" David continued. Then bow your head and silence.

Becca slowly turned her gaze toward her father and said, "So you've been saying that I hate you for that?" Becca shook her head. His words made David reflex return his gaze.

David showed a confused face. He did not understand the story of his eldest son.

Becca is not ready to express all her disappointment to David.

"Here you go, we better prepare all the necessary ingredients for the barbeque!" becca said as she hurried away from David. He did not intend to negotiate for too long about his feelings.

Night had arrived, David and Jonas were seen already putting meat on the grill. Some corn also appears to be burned at the same time. While Becca prepares dishes at the table, including a variety of vegetables and carbohydrates as a complement. All three are now in the park located on the right side of the villa.

A few moments later the bell suddenly sounded. Jonas rushed to open the door. He shows up with Jack. Becca who saw the sebutter rounded her eyes.

"Jack!" David greeted Jack with great enthusiasm. "Come here, help me bake the meat!" he continued, accompanied by a smile.

"Hi Becca" said Jack with a faint smile, then walked over to David. Becca was forced to return her smile despite being so reluctant.

"Why can he come?" ask Becca quietly to Jonas who is standing across the table.

"Dad invited him this afternoon!" jonas replied, he tried to look at the expression of the older brother. Until suspicion came to his mind. "Why are you so paranoid about Jack? you likey?" hatchlings. She managed to get Becca to throw a single blow to her head.

"Don't make it up!" assertively Becca, who now directs a fist towards Jonas. He intends to threaten.

"ahaha! after seeing your anger, I'm even more convinced that you really like it!" reply Jonas after satisfied chuckling.

"Jonas!!!" Becca release. He unintentionally raised his voice, so David and Jack reflex attention was on him.

"Can you stop fighting! please don't ruin our barbeque night!" admonish David with a loud voice. "That's how they used to be" he said again, now speaking to Jack.

"Looks fun." Jack answered.

"To you may seem like fun, but you should know how exhausting it is to deal with their behavior." David explained.

Becca can only grunt violently, after getting a reprimand from her father. He tried to close his eyes for a moment, so that his feelings could be calmer. Jonas who happened to see the look on his brother's face tried as much as possible to hold back his laughter. The guy was always hooked on teasing Becca.

"I agree with Jack. He's a friendly guy, and better than your ex-girlfriend was!" timpal Jonas while pointing his eyeballs to the upper right. He tried to remember the name of the man who had been dating Becca.

"Stop!" growled Becca once again.

The dish is now available on the table. Everyone immediately sat in their respective positions. The chair only has four.

Jonas, who had assumed his brother liked Jack, hurried to choose a seat next to David. He wants to let Becca and Jack sit side by side. Now Becca is only able to scold her sister with her sharp plot.

"Let's eat!" said David. As a result Becca and others immediately devoured their own food.

"Waaaah! it's good." said Jonas, who was fascinated by the taste of the beef that wrestled in his mouth.

"You seem like a cheerful son to Jonas!" reprimand Jack.

"If it's at home, but if it's school he's just a loser" Becca said.

Jonas slowly lowered his head. His spirit seemed to just fade away. He could not argue Becca's words, which were true. The fork and knife slipped out of his grasp. It seems like her brother's speech caused a bad memory to appear in Jonas' memory.

"I'm going to the toilet!" Jonas immediately got up from his seat.

"Becca, why are you talking like that!" timpal David couldn't believe it.

"He's okay, David!" reply Becca sure.

"Everybody must have experienced something bad in High School. I'm sure Jonas can get through it" said Jack, who appears to be on Becca's side.

"I hope so." David answered while busying himself cutting his barbeque meat.

Becca slowly glanced at Jack who was sitting next to her. Again he was made curious about Jack's temperament. The man had twice defended him, and managed to make David lose a landslide.

Unexpectedly Jack turned his gaze towards Becca. He manages to catch Becca glancing at him.

'Oh my god!' becca's inner self, while throwing away Jack's face. His face suddenly flushed from embarrassment.

Jack had his mouth open because he wanted to talk to Becca. But the sound of his phone ringing managed to undo his intentions. Jack asked for permission to take a phone call for a moment. He went to a place a little far from the whereabouts of Becca and David.

"What are you gonna do, after this dinner is over?" asked Becca, who looked busy enjoying her grilled corn.

"Don't you know, you got a proposal?" David turned around to ask.

"none. I just want to go to my room as soon as possible!" sahut Becca's.

Jonas is back. He sat down and ate his meat. David and Becca were both astonished, as Jonas was seen eating so voraciously.

"I told you, she's okay" Becca said, propping up her chin with one hand.

After finishing dinner, David invites everyone to play cards and have a drink with him. Except for Jonas, he was allowed to go to the room. This is because his age is still not legal to drink alcohol.

"What?!" Becca flabbergasted. He was very lazy to accept David's invitation.

"Jack must be busy, maybe we'll do it later!" said Becca who tried to find an excuse to reject her father's invitation.

"Of course not. Coincidentally tonight, my time is very spare. Anyway, I'm bored of being alone!" jack said, which suddenly caused David's smile to widen immediately. But not for Becca, she just put up her lazy face mimic.
