Three days passed. News of the disappearance of the police chief began to penetrate the news world. Everyone in Louisiana knows. Including Ben, who just found out about it from his co-worker.
Becca's trying to find David everywhere. He did so starting from a place David frequented. From restaurants, shops and other places. But how hard he was looking, David never met.
Until at some point, he thought about looking at David's point last seen. Around the road to Eden Street. There Becca visits a mini market. Trying to ask to be sure.
"Did you see the sheriff-head"
"Yes, he came here for a while. Arghhh, to be honest, I just told that to the guy. And I can't believe I have to repeat it again." The mini-market cashier seemed to know what Becca was going to ask. It seemed like he had already received many questions from some people.
"Male?" Becca widens her eyelids.
"Yes.." replied the cashier while wailing out. She seems to be intending to tell Becca who the man who visited her was. Until his attention was fixed to the man who had opened the door of a cadillac car. The cashier then pointed at the man who was none other than Jack.
Becca, who had not seen Jack for a few days, immediately ran and tried to catch up. However, the man was seen already driving his car to the street. As a result Becca was forced to follow by driving her car.
Jack's car drove in front, making Becca step on the gas pedal harder. So that his vehicle also darted through the paved road.
Jack was not alone in the car. Mike was sitting next to him. They were initially unaware there was a car following behind. But over time, Mike began to suspect. He also felt familiar with the car in the back.
"Jack, do you recognize that car?" mike asked, looking back.
"What?" jack's response with a frown.
"I think someone's following us!" said Mike who still did not take his eyes off.
Jack who heard the flash glanced at the rearview mirror to confirm Mike's words. Sure enough, there was a car in the back that was clearly following him. Jack tried to remember the car he saw, until the name Becca also appeared in the head.
"I think it's Becca," Jack said as he drove his car to the side of the road. He's gonna stop and talk to Becca.
"Ahh. Oh my god!" Mike holds the jidat.
Becca stops when she witnesses Jack parking the car on the side of the road. Especially when Jack got out of the car. Becca hurried over to the man with a serious face.
"What are you doing?" timpal Jack who has positioned himself in front of Becca. Both of his hands were placed in his coat. Even though the blizzard has subsided, it does not mean that winter is over.
"Don't I have to ask that?" sahut Becca lifts her chin once. "That cashier said, you asked him about David. Are you looking for him?" continue with a probing look.
Jack looked down for a moment. Then he sighed and said, "Becca, I promise I'll bring David back. I think we know where he is!"
"really? whereabouts? how's it?" becca's eyes widened, as if in disbelief. Sticking Jack with questions.
"Calm down, Mike and I will take care of it. You better go home!" Jack gave me advice.
"But this is dangerous, I-I"
"I'm going with Jack! David is my father and I deserve to know!" cut Becca into his stand.
Seeing the debate, Mike was forced to get out of the car. Then join us to talk. "What's wrong?"
"Becca's coming with us!" jack said as he stepped into the car. He ignored Mike who had just been standing next to him.
"Okay, let's go!" Becca rushed into the car.
Mike who was left behind was just flabbergasted. He also had to get back in the car. The man immediately scolded Jack. If Becca's involvement was excessive for him.
"Don't you tell him about our work?!" mike with a sour face.
"No. I just told him about my past. You don't have to worry!" jack looked back at Mike.
Mike just grunted rudely. He was trying to understand Jack. Moreover, his partner had indeed put his heart to Becca.
"But if Becca comes along, won't you put her in danger?" mike is trying to change Jack's mind.
"We'll have him wait in the car!" replied Jack who was relaxed.
Mike is just talking. His efforts have failed. But at least he tried, and finally let Jack do as he pleased.
...***...
Jack takes Becca to an old building. A place that looks abandoned and deserted. Surprisingly, there were several cars parked in front of the building.
"Mike, you need to stay in the car with Becca. Don't let him down!" tell Jack, then just walk away. Even without waiting for approval from Mike first.
"What?! Jack, why are you-" Mike unable to protest because Jack has already come out and approached Becca. The tall man tells Becca to wait. He tries to convince Becca not to come with him into the building.
Becca then galloped into Jack's car. His face looked pouted, as a result of feeling annoyed with Jack. The same thing was felt by Mike. A black man sitting in front of a car. Becca chose to sit in the back seat.
"seen? Jack is a bitch, right? now he's making me your bodyguard!" chirp Mike with a frown, then grunt annoyedly.
"Do you know what this place is?" becca asked, ignoring Mike's complaint.
As a result of feeling ignored earlier, Mike chose silence. He seems to be taking revenge. Silence occurs for a long time.
