Shaykhana Mbah Yai Marzuqi Dahlan is a figure who is very tawadhu’. so tawadhu’nya his friends even santri santri doubted his life was not even considered qualified in reading the book.

Mbah Yai Marzuqi is not just any kiai. since he was still nyantri to Mbah Yai Abdul Karim (Mbah Manab), it has appeared advantages compared to other santri, namely: he was able to detect the position of Nabi Khidir ‘alaihissalam.

How is Mbah Yai Marzuqi invisible ?

Sheikh Shihabudin Al Qalyubi mentions in his book ”An Nawadir”, that Allah SWT. keep secret 5 (Five) things in 5 (Five) p. One of them is that God keeps secret the existence of His beloved (his guardian) among men.

Wh-wh-what for? it is for us to be careful or respectful to everyone, without exception.

Because we do not know who the person we always meet, it may be in our opinion ordinary/humiliated people but it turns out that he is the guardian of Allah, then we must respect everyone. And indeed the guardian is the Secret of Allah SWT, only the elect know the existence of God's guardians until they arrive in the world per-guardian appeared “Pameo”:

لاَيَعْرِفُ الْوَالِيَّ إِلَّا الْوَالِيُّ

“Nobody knows that someone is a guardian except themselves also wali”.

Regarding the trustee secrecy among these humans I remember what Kiai Solichun (PonPes Nurul Hasan, Geger Tegalrejo) told me when I told him, that one day Mbah Kiyai Marzuqi Lirboyo had a guest. Unlike on ordinary days, where the guest is sowan is a well-dressed kiai or santri. His guests this time were indeed other than others, narrow-eyed like people of Chinese descent (javanese bhs: koyo wong cino), wearing shorts.

At the same time Mbah Kiai Mahrus noticed this guest coming from a distance.

Unexpectedly, it turned out that Mbah Kiai Marzuqi greeted this guest with great respect, kissed her hand and served the guest special.

Surprised by Mbah Kiai Marzuqi's attitude towards his guest, after the guest was farewell, the guest, Mbah Kiai Mahrus hurried to ask Mbah Kiai Marzuqi who was his guest and why Mbah Kiai welcomed him with great respect (bhs Jawa:munduk-munduk), kissed his hands and served him solemnly.

Mbah Kiai Marzuqi replied: “Kae wants Nabi Khidir, ngabari I nek patangty dino maneh I mati” (that was the prophet Khidir, telling me that 40 (forty) days I die again).”

And it is true, Mbah Kiai Mahrus calculated exactly 40 (forty) days after the arrival of the guest, Mbah Kiai Marzuqi called before Allah SWT.

رَبِّ فَانْفَعْنَا بِبَرَگتِهِمْ، وَ اهْدِنَا الحُسْنَی بِحُرْمَتِهِمْ، وَ أَمِتْنَا فِي طَرِيْقَتِهِمْ، وَ مُعَافَاةٍ مَنَ الْفِتَنِ
