Habib SHEIKH BIN AHMAD BAFAQIH Surabaya

Habib Shaykh was born in the city of Shihr in 1212 H son of Habib Ahmad Bafaqih and his genealogy reached the Prophet Muhammad Rasululloh SAW

After some time deepening his knowledge in several places in 1250 AD, Habib Shaykh began to dare to take steps to spread his knowledge. He had explored several cities in the archipelago, before finally deciding to dock in the city of Surabaya.

It was in Surabaya that he began to emit the light of his knowledge. He taught his knowledge to the claimants, ranging from Fiqh, Tawhid, Tasawwuf and others. Until finally, amid the frenetic proselytization, he was appointed by Allah SWT to be one of his guardians. Since then, he was often washed away by Rabbaniyah nature, and extraordinary karamah-karamah always filled his daily life.

Like a Sufi, Habib Shaykh Bafaqih has a high sensitivity to Sufistic verses. He was so easily carried away by the verses of Sufi figures. Especially if the poem is his own sister, Sayid Muhammad Bafaqih who voiced gold, he could be drunken all night.

The preaching of Habib Shaykh in the land of Java was very successful. It has managed to Islamize many people. In addition, he also managed to print some clerics. As a result, his knowledge really illuminated the wilds of Java which was still cloud at that time.

Once upon a time Habib Shaykh arrived at the residence of one of his lovers. This is not an ordinary visit, but a wise visit. Because, once I met the temple shahibul, the Wali poured out a rather odd request. “I want two sheets of this tapestry.” he said.

The lovers are stifled. How not, what his visitation asked was a super expensive European-made tapestry. That thing he just bought. He loved the tapestry so much that it was placed in a special place.

“Bagini only. You can ask for anything, as long as not this tapestry.” Pinta the lover.

“No. I don't want any other.” The Guardian is flinching.

Negotiate alot. And finally the lovers' hearts are half melted. “Alright, then you can take one sheet only.”

After getting his request, the Guardian immediately moved. The lover is a rich merchant. When visited by the Guardian, Two fleets of merchant ships were sailing on the sea with a lot of cargo. Unfortunately, the whack, the two fleets were torn as a result of the wave. One of them crashed and drowned. The other survived and landed.

The heart of the merchant was a little relieved. Thank God, neither of them drowned. He inspected the ship carefully. And there was a miraculous sight before him. Yes, a tapestry presented to the Guardian has patched up the torn parts of the boat. He was stuck, regretting his treatment of the Guardian.

“Why didn't I just give both of them that time.” grumbled at his heart.

The famous story above is narrated by Habib Abdul Bari bin Sheikh Al-Aydrus, and is included in the manuscript Tajul A’ras, pen nicks Habib Ali bin Husein Al-Attas.

“Hai Abdullah, go to Habib Shaykh now, and tell him,” Abdullah Al-Haddad currently needs two thousand rupiah. Please, give him money tomorrow !” his orders.

Sayid Abdullah is leaving. Arriving at Habib Shaykh, he read holy verses and prayers. Then he whispered to the tomb the sentence ordered by Habib Abdullah.

Two days later, Sayid Abdullah met Habib Abdullah again. The very generous guardian looked flowery.

“See this money. I received from Habib Sheikh.” While showing a lump of money to Abdullah Al Haddad Maklum, two thousand rupiah money first, equal to twelve million ripiah money now.

The Wali who berkaromah extraordinary, is none other than Habib Shaykh bin Ahmad Bafaqih, a great cleric whose vortex is in the area of Boto Putih, Surabaya. The Sunan Ampel mosque. Therefore, people know him better as Habib Shaykh Boto Putih.

In his time, the glory of Habib Shaykh was difficult to match. His knowledge in Fiqh, Lughah, Tawhid and others is profound. So while living in Surabaya, he became an oasis that treats thirsty people in the realm of Java.

This extraordinary achievement was not achieved easily and easily. Science will never be poured out of the sky. From a young age, he has worked hard to explore knowledge. At first he studied the Qur’an and some areas of knowledge of syari’at and Sufism to his own father, Habib Ahmad bin Abdullah Bafaqih. Incidentally, the Father himself is a scholar who has been famous for the height of his knowledge.

He then developed himself by studying the scholars in his city, Syihr. In this phase, his scientific soul is blooming. The longer his heart felt an immeasurable thirst to sip knowledge so that he with permission his father decided to go to Haramain to dive into the lake of knowledge there.

During his time in Mecca and Medina, he studied with several great scholars, including Sheikh Umar bin Abdul Karim bin Abdul Rasul At-‘Attar, Shaykh Muhammad Sholeh Ar-Rais Al-Zamzami, among others, al - Allamah Sayid Ahmad bin Alawi Jamalullail. Not just getting there. He also took the time to live in Egypt for some time, to gain knowledge from the great teachers of al-Azhar University at that time.

Habib Sheh died in 1289 H in Surabaya.Haul He was held every second Thursday of Shawwal. Above the vortex built a magnificent dome, as a symbol of its splendor. Until now his tomb was incessantly visited by the Muslims, to be careful with the hope of barokah.
