Chapters 18. Early Discovery.

A short while later, Liora and the others had already arrived at their destination. They immediately got out of the car and walked into the cafe owned by Vero.

"Good day, Miss," greeted Nella with a bright smile.

Liora nodded her head to return the woman's greeting. "Is Vero inside?" He immediately asked where Vero was.

"sorry, Miss. Brother Vero was out with his friend, just leaving."

Liora nodded in understanding, then she immediately parted and passed away from that place. Of course, Zarga and Kenzie followed suit, who managed to steal the attention of the people who were in that place.

They decided to go to Samuel. The clock has shown at 12 noon, they can all enjoy lunch there.

Liora looked towards the window while watching every passing car, adding to the street crowd. His mind recalled the moment where he met Vero, a faint smile rose on his lips as he recalled the man's behavior.

"We're here, miss." Zarga's voice resuscitated Liora from the daydream.

Then they immediately descended into the VIP lounge of the restaurant in front of them, seen the private secretary Samuel was waiting for their arrival.

"Welcome, Miss," welcome Sony, Samuel's secretary. "Master's waiting inside." He allowed Liora to enter.

Liora, Zarga, and Kenzie went straight into the room. When Samuel saw them coming, he got up from his seat.

"You have come, Miss." said Samuel, inviting Liora to sit down.

"Sorry to keep you waiting" said Liora, who felt guilty for arriving late from the time of their agreement.

"It's okay, Miss." Samuel responded to his words casually. "We better have lunch first." He called the waiter to serve them food and drinks.

After finishing with the stomach problem, they began to discuss the core issue of the meeting.

"To what extent are you investigating?" samuel began the conversation.

"Until we learn of your relationship with Mr. Barra Zander," Zarga replied

"I thought they would know." Samuel was not surprised anymore.

"It is true that I am a son of Mr. Barra, but here I am only on a mission from him. For others, I did it myself. And for that mission I think you must have known it" explained Samuel.

Samuel was indeed given the freedom of his master to run his own business. He was also released to liaise with anyone, both in the legal business and the mafia world. The important thing is that he can carry out his mission of protecting Vero from all attacks by his enemies.

"Did Mr Vero really not know about your identity?" ask Kenzie who had been silent about the conversation.

"He doesn't know, and don't let him know. So please keep everything a secret" Samuel asked them.

"We have nothing to do with it, so you don't have to worry" Liora replied, letting Samuel breathe.

"We also found out that the person who attacked and the person who tried to take your personal assets was the same person" Samuel said after hearing the recording.

"We compared the pattern of the emails they sent me and the pattern of the break-in of your assets. We also thought that he was deliberately luring me to attack so that he could be more free in the system," added Samuel. He then gave me the data.

Liora and Zarga looked carefully at all the data Samuel had given them, they also agreed with what the man had said.

"But Miss, have you been attacked before?" ask Samuel.

"Yes, 2 times. And this is the third time" Liora replied while recalling all the attacks that had happened to her.

"Is it possible that all these attacks were committed by one person?" presumption from Zarga who still see the data in his hands.

Then a man dressed in black approached him. "We're ready for the next plan, sir." He reported the current situation.

"I don't want to hear failure anymore. Make sure this time goes according to what I'm telling you. If we can't destroy Liora, then we must destroy her weakness, which is Leon," the man ordered as he walked away from the navel.
