Chapter 48. Marvel's Rejection.
At a famous restaurant in the city center, a man was walking into a private room with a suit wrapped around his body. His handsome face made him very striking among the others.
"I'm sorry, I'm late" he said, sitting right in front of Leon, who was waiting for him.
The man who is none other than Marvel looks to bring his sweet smile to Leon.
"I'm sorry to interrupt your time" Leon replies, as Alex watches the atmosphere from a corner of the room with Davin, Marvel's personal secretary.
"No need to hesitate, Brother-in-law," exclaimed Marvel casually.
Hearing the words of brother-in-law, somehow Leon's feelings became unreasonable. He didn't like it when he heard it.
"Just go ahead, Marvel. I want to discuss the matter of Liora" Leon said without any formal frills as he said earlier.
Hearing that, it certainly makes Marvel not surprised anymore. He had already guessed that this meeting must have something to do with Liora.
"I don't agree with your marriage and my sister's." Leon immediately rejected the agreement that they had done in the past.
"Why?" marvel asked, he was like there was no burden when he said it.
"The wedding wasn't a deal, Marvel. Marriage should be based on love" Leon said with great emphasis, while Marvel just quietly listened. He sipped the coffee in front of him.
Seeing that, Leon's emotions rose all the way to the crown. How could the man so casually respond to his words?
"Lantas, you want to cancel?" ask Marvel.
"of course. You don't love my sister either, do you?" Leon straightforwardly replied, his chest up and down held back emotions.
"Who did I say I didn't love him?" cynical Marvel, he said that because he was really interested in Liora.
"You-" Leon immediately pulled the collar of Marvel's shirt making the food on the table a mess.
"What are you doing?" shouts Davin as he approaches them. Davin had not been able to pass it, Marvel raised his hand to signal not to interfere.
"You don't mess around" Leon snapped, he violently releasing the clutches of his hands.
"Do you think I'm playing around?" ask Marvel is no less sharp than Leon. "Do you think I don't know Liora's relationship with that guy?"
The words that Marvel spoke pierced Leon's chest.
"I don't care about Liora's relationship with him, which is clear she's already tied to my marriage vows. Like it or not you have to accept it" added Marvel with great emphasis, indicating that what he said was what would happen.
Leon was furious. How could the man still not want to cancel it? marvel already knew that the woman he was going to marry already loved someone else.
"It's not that problem, Marvel. Liora is ...." Leon could not continue his words, there was no way he would say bluntly if Liora loved another man.
"I'm sorry, Sister-in-law, I can't, I really want to marry her" said Marvel, smiling as she recalled Liora's face. I don't know, he doesn't know why he likes that woman.
"I beg you, Sir."
Alex suddenly let out his voice, he even lowered his head and begged Marvel to cancel the marriage with Liora making the man laugh instantly.
Marvel's laugh sounded creepy a sign that he was really upset right now, maybe they just refused his presence like this. His self-esteem felt torn apart.
"After he marries me, he will definitely forget about that Cavero Zander and turn to love me. So you no longer need to reject me," said Marvel sharply he even mentioned the name of Liora's lover.
Leon and Alex can no longer speak up because Marvel's decision seems inviolable, the only way to stay is to ask Yara to talk to Marvel to get the man to cancel it. Maybe if Yara was the one talking to the man it would understand.
"Marvel, please think again. There are still many women out there who are more than-"
"Enough!" cut off Marvel, he no longer wants to hear anything. "I remind you once again, I will marry Liora. Anyone can't get in the way, so you better get everything ready." He spoke quickly as he left them followed by his secretary.
Leon stomped his pulsating head, he no longer knew what to do for Liora.
"Sir." Alex is worried about seeing his young master, he is afraid Leon is back down because of this problem.
"What should we do? I can't see Liora suffering" Leon said, knowing how much love Liora and Vero felt.
Alex doesn't know what to do either, the only way is to meet Mr. Marco, Marvel's father. It was Mr. Marco who actually made the deal, they had to persuade him to cancel the agreement he had made.
Meanwhile, elsewhere Vero was daydreaming in his room. Several times he saw Liora's mobile number but did not also call, he was confused what to say to the girl. Marvel's words kept ringing in his mind.
"Huh, I should call her." Then Vero immediately called Liora's number.
Long wait, but the call was not answered to make him continue to call and the result remains the same.
"Did Liora deliberately avoid me?" he muttered as he kept calling the girl. "After you hurt me, now you're avoiding me?"
