CHAPTER 135: CONVINCING
After hearing everyone's opinion, Ren went with Falka to convince these captured Orc Goblin warriors. After all they had to fight their own kingdom, therefore Ren had to encourage them to use his words so that there were many Goblin Orc troops captured agreeing to cooperate with Myro.
Retya returned to the barracks to observe the troops, they had just finished a long enough battle that these troops had to be carefully observed, especially those who were wounded.
Now that there was only Lopen in this room with Myro, he walked up behind Myro while asking respectfully "Master, what are you going to do now? Will the master rest? During these few days, the master continued to be on the battlefield so it would not hurt to rest now. Moreover, master still has to wait for the troops from General Herfu's grandson. The Orc and Goblin soldiers who were being held at Folk City guards were immediately shocked to learn that they had to gather in the prison grounds.
At first some people thought they were gathered to be easier to kill, but they simply did not have the strength to fight the Myro forces guarding the prison so they could only gather in the prison grounds.
Fortunately the guard field was quite large, so about 1000 prisoners could gather in that field without any problems.
Some of the more cunning prisoners began to think of trying to escape from this place, however almost all the prisoners thought they were gathered here in order to be killed. For that reason, some prisoners think it is better to try to escape from here alive rather than waiting for the impending death.
But upon finding hundreds of guards all over the corner of the field, the prisoners could only bitterly smile. With this many guards around them as well as being heavily armed, there was no chance for the prisoners to escape.
The bewildered prisoners instantly found the figure of 2 people walking towards the stage in front of them.
They raised their heads and found that the person who went up on stage was a woman as well as a man who looked strong, they were none other than Ren and Falka.
At least Ren had to convince half the prisoners here to be willing to help Myro, the problem of convincing the prisoners in front of them was not at all easy. They used to be warriors from the Orc-Goblin Kingdom, definitely not easy to make them fight against their own kingdom despite trying to attract them to use food.
But before coming here, Ren had said confidently that he could convince these prisoners, what Falka needed to do was just stand behind him.
Since Falka already knew Ren's abilities, she decided to trust him as well.
Ren who was already standing on the stage looked at all the surrounding prisoners and then shouted loudly "You all must be very confused as to the reason why you are all gathered here, I will tell you all the reasons! The entire prisoner immediately became silent, they were greatly shocked at Ren's words.
Not long after, these prisoners exploded "What? Is this woman crazy? He thinks we're gonna betray the kingdom!".
"Foolish woman, tell your master that, we are loyal soldiers to the kingdom! Rather than being released from prison but having to betray our own kingdom, we would rather remain prisoners".
"Young lady, forget that stupid idea and take me back to jail! Even if you kill me, I won't betray the kingdom".
Ren was not angry at the prisoners who mocked him, from the beginning he had thought about the prisoners who would reject this.
"I haven't finished speaking yet" said Ren smiling confidently "Whoever helps attack the Rulfes Fortress, you will get food 3 times a day! Not only that, children and other family members get food 3 times a day, at least they get meat every once a day! Don't you Orcs and Goblins go hungry every 10 years? Now you don't have to worry, whoever helped attack Fort Rulfes, their families don't have to worry about starving to death anymore!".
Ren's mocking voice instantly became silent, most of the soldiers were attracted by Ren's offer.
If it was just food for themselves, the prisoners would have refused. But now they are talking about their own families, the prisoners don't mind dying because since they became soldiers, they are ready to die.
But that does not mean they do not mind also seeing the family die. Even most of the prisoners here don't mind dying, but their families have to stay alive.
Despite the doubts, there was no 1 person who agreed to Ren's invitation. Most of the prisoners here used to be soldiers who had allegiance to the Orc-Goblin Kingdom, they hesitated to betray.
Some of the more loyal prisoners began to persuade "Why do you doubt? Remember carefully, every traitor will be sentenced to death by the Orc-Goblin Kingdom, as well as their families!".
"The Orc-Goblin Kingdom has treated you well. Have you forgotten where your salary as a soldier comes from? All of you, the soldiers get a salary from the Orc-Goblin Kingdom in order to survive. After getting the money from the kingdom, you guys are now thinking of betraying the kingdom? Are you not ashamed? Where is your honor and loyalty as a soldier?".
