THE FIGHT TO BE KING

THE FIGHT TO BE KING
CHAPTER 143: WHY SHOULD WE LET THE ENEMY ESCAPE?

When other infantry forces generally put their defense and formation attacks first, the Snow Infantry placed more importance on their speed.

Snow warfare, however, is very different from warfare in areas with other weather conditions.

The Herfu general who had been guarding this northern border region for many years was very familiar about the snow weather.

If a heavy infantryman wears full iron armor like knights, when the snow that falls is strong enough then it means death.

Wearing full-body armor greatly slowed down the speed of the knights, plus the pressure of snow and cold temperatures, the heavy infantry could die on the snowy land without being injured by enemy attacks.

So facing the snowy weather, the Herfu General formed a light infantry that could move quickly in the midst of even snowfall.

The Snow Infantry did not wear heavy armor at all, they only wore light iron armor that protected their important body parts so that the enemy could not inflict fatal injuries.

Then each of their members carried a spear as a weapon and a sword at their waist. Depending on the circumstances on the battlefield, the Snow Infantry could switch their weapons into swords one time.

The enemy defenses on the left side were quickly destroyed, they were completely unprepared against this sudden attack.

What was most surprising was that Loir led his own 1000 Snow Cavalry with his 5000 troops, whereas most of the nobles only stood behind when fighting.

But as the grandson of General Herfu, he had been trained very hard to fight in the front row. This was done so that Loir could lead his own army directly, even though there were no great generals with him.

"Protect the left side immediately! Do not let the enemy attack our left side any more!", cried the leader of the army in this camp, he was now very panicked because he knew that defeat was in sight.

As the enemy troops began to panic from the attack on the left side, the Myro Orc prisoners' forces hit the wooden fence at the front of the enemy camp simultaneously.

"Shelf!".

Hit by the iron sword of hundreds of Orcs, the wooden fence instantly fell, thousands of ferocious Orc troops along with Myro troops stepped towards the enemy camp.

The sound of the battle cry continued to be heard, but anyone who saw definitely knew the winner was Myro.

Ren who was behind Myro shook his head "The enemy forces are too weak, this war is finished faster than we planned. I know most of the enemy troops are just residents who were given weapons all of a sudden, but this is too soon. It seemed that the captain who led the enemy forces also had no ability, at least as long as there was a little ability then they would not lose so quickly".

Hearing Ren's words, Myro smiled bitterly.

How many captains in this world have intelligence like Ren or strength as strong as Falka? Myro thinks the answer is almost nonexistent.

A figure like Falka is equivalent to the General of the elite infantry forces of Azeroth Kingdom, Limo. How could a figure as strong as Limo only live in 3 small cities belonging to the Orc-Goblin Kingdom located on the border?

If it was a figure like the general of the entire army of the Orc-Goblin Kingdom, there was a possibility that it was the equivalent of Falka. But regarding the other generals in this small kingdom, Myro doubted that anyone could compete against the Myro generals. Even Golder who was a famous figure in the Orc-Goblin Kingdom, died easily against Lopen.

"Well", replied Lopen who was leaving.

But when Lopen was just planning to tell Falka who was attacking, Ren on the other hand said "Wait for mister, I have other plans! Rather than letting all the enemy troops die here, why not let most of them escape? As long as we do that, I have a plan in place to bring down Fort Rulfes as quickly as possible. Although this plan is very risky, but as long as we succeed, it must shock the entire Orc-Goblin Kingdom and Azeroth Kingdom. It did not take 2 months, as long as this plan was successful it would only take another week to capture Fort Rulfes".

Myro and Lopen are really curious about Ren's sudden plan.

...----------------...

Falka who was leading the Mongol Cavalry against the enemy shouted in disbelief at Lopen who came to him a moment ago "Are you crazy? We can kill all the enemy troops here, why should we let the enemy escape?".

Lopen looked at Falka before saying firmly "I can't tell you the reason now, but after this war, master and Ren must have told you the reason. Falka, do you doubt your decision, sir?".

Falka again realized, if this was the task given by Myro, he would not refuse.

Breathing in, Falka said "I understand, I'll tell the other troops".

When he finished saying that, Falka let some of the Mongol Cavalry move towards Retya, Gladius and Loir to tell them to let the enemy troops escape.

Although they felt strange about the decision, they could only follow it because the decision came from Myro.

Moreover, Myro had already discussed this matter with Ren, it was most likely that the matter of letting the enemy escape this time was related to Ren's crazy plan.

The enemy troops who had been desperate because they had been surrounded, suddenly they found a gap between Myro's forces.

Seeing the gap, the enemy troops began to flee without hesitation.

They did not think at all why there was a gap in Myro's army, even though there was no one before.

What they cared about now was to escape and stay alive, whereas the other matter was unimportant.

With that, more than 2500 enemy troops managed to escape from the gap of the siege Myro troops.

Although Myro's forces won, this was not a major victory because most of the enemy forces still managed to escape and try to return to their respective cities.

These defeated and fleeing troops must have known that they were not Myro's opponents, either, there was a good chance that they would go to Rulfes Fortress because only by joining forces there would they have the ability to win against Myro.

As long as the 2500 soldiers who escaped and the Rulfes Fortress joined forces, Myro's forces would have been more difficult to take Rulfes Fortress. Therefore, everyone was confused against the plan of letting the enemy troops escape which gave them absolutely no advantage.

Perhaps in this entire battlefield, only Myro with Lopen understood because they had heard Ren's grand plan to capture Fort Rulfes using 1 move in the fastest way.
