CHAPTER 249: DARK ELF CITY CHANGES
Seeing Kerzan surrender with a bitter face, one of his soldiers shouted "General, why are we giving up? As long as we continue to fight, there is a chance to win! The spider cavalry may have already been defeated, but there are still Dark Elf assassins and a few other troops-".
Without waiting for the soldier to finish speaking, Kerzan shouted "Have you not been able to see him? There is no chance for us to win! If we choose to fight, how many more troops will die? You may not be afraid to die as long as you fight for the Dark Elves, but what good is it if you die without any purpose? As long as we give up, the Dark Elf City might still survive. While continuing to fight, you all will die for no reason? Anyhow I can see, it seems like Mr. Myro is not planning on killing all of us as long as we surrender right?".
Myro looked at Kerzan and smiled "You're right, as I said just now, I don't mind giving Dark Elves resources in the form of education, food or clothing, either, you must be loyal to me! Moreover, your city will be my subordinate city which means that I have full power over Dark Elf City and its inhabitants. I also need the Dark Elves to help me win all the battlefields in the future, but you need not worry, I am sending you to the battlefield instead as a target to kill the enemy. Even though you guys are Dark Elves, I won't give you guys any treatment that's different from humans".
"For example are the Orcs and Goblins in my army, I don't judge people based on their appearance but rather their abilities and traits are the basis on which I judge you".
Kerzan nodded, he walked in front of Myro before kneeling "Kerzan surrendered to the master and gave his loyalty! Even if it should be put to death, Kerzan did not mind as long as master allowed the other Dark Elves to stay alive! All the Dark Elves who are here against you for my decision, if they are to blame for attacking you, then I who is their leader is the one to blame!".
Seeing their general choose to surrender, the other Dark Elves stared at each other before starting to drop their weapons and kneeled in front of Myro.
Some people thought of refusing to give up, but thousands of Victory Troops stared at them coldly. They were sure as long as they dared to resist, the spear in the hand of the Victory Squad must have pierced their necks.
So everyone decided to give up. Even the Dark Elf assassins who had been hiding and fighting secretly against the base assassins had appeared from behind the darkness, they knelt in front of Myro before giving up.
When all the Dark Elves decided to surrender without anyone trying to fight to the death, Myro smiled "Don't worry, you won't regret your decision today! Then for Kerzan, I don't plan on killing you, at least you can live on unless I find proof you're trying to betray. Do you understand?",
"Thank you for your kindness?" said Kerzan happily.
Myro nodded and looked at the Victory Squad around him "Retya, you brought the 500 Victory Troops and took all the weapons and spiders of the Dark Elves army. After that, you must keep them here, they must not return to the cave without my permission. Kerzan, you're in charge of leading the way, I plan to see what the town of Dark Elves looks like".
Yorou, Ren and 500 other Victory Troops followed Myro who descended again towards the cave with Kerzan.
On the other hand, Retya let his troops tie up the enemy Dark Elves' forces and took their weapons.
When the Dark Elves' problems are over and they are always under the control of the Victory Squad, Retya walks towards the burning wood to tell the miners there to stop using their fans against the fire. The war was over, so their job was to put out the fire using water.
The miners did not refuse, they went to a nearby lake or river before starting to try to extinguish the fire.
Myro descended further and further down the cave, although the road ahead was quite disturbed due to the black smoke of Myro's previous burning, but they were able to continue walking under the torch lighting that the soldiers carried.
At first Myro thought the Dark Elf City would be quite dark, however they were underground without any sunlight.
Although they had absolutely no city walls, after all the location of the Dark Elves City was underground which made the existence of the city walls unnecessary.
Around Dark Elf City, there were many crops like farm fields that caught Myro's attention.
They were now underground, how could there possibly be a farm growing here? Every plant needed the sun in order to grow, then how the plants in the fields of Dark Elf City were able to grow.
"Kerzan, what is this plant?" said Myro pointing to a curious farm.
"Master, this is a black potato. Unlike normal potatoes, they can grow even if they are not exposed to sunlight. The problem is that their size is generally not large and they taste quite bad, if not because we have no other choice, we definitely do not eat black potatoes. But only black potatoes can grow without sunlight, we have to accept it" Kerzan said with a bitter smile.
Myro slightly forgot, this is not earth but another world, it is not strange that there are plants that are able to develop without sunlight like this.
Shaking his head, Myro said "I will let you get food supplies from my other city, however the food income in Victory Province is good enough. If you're interested, you don't need to live underground, I can let you build your own city on the ground. You don't have to worry about the cost, I'll help with the city's construction costs".
Kerzan immediately shook his head "Master, we live underground because Dark Elves are more suitable here, therefore I have to reject the good offer sir".
They continued their journey under the curious gazes of all the Dark Elves along the way, however humans almost never came to their city.
In order to avoid trouble, Kerzan gathered all the residents and told them the matter of the Dark Elves in this city had already surrendered to Myro.
At first some Dark Elves disagreed, but when Myro came forward and told them they could get educational help, food and clothing, everyone was very happy.
Education can be obtained by all Dark Elves children for free, while for food, Myro does not give it for free but Dark Elves must work like selling poison or some of their own expertise for food and money.
But Myro made a strict rule that they should not use poison carelessly.
Residents remain happy, after all the food problems can still be overcome by continuing to grow black potatoes.
What makes them most happy is the free education for their children.
