THE FIGHT TO BE KING

THE FIGHT TO BE KING
CHAPTER 293: THE LOYALTY OF THE GENERAL

Herfu guards the northern border and Tarka serves as the southern border general of the Kingdom of Azeroth. In addition to them, there were 2 more generals who served on the eastern and western borders of the Kingdom of Azeroth.

Different from Herfu who is bound to his son Carla so that he sided with Grand Duke Rayde and Myro, then Tarka who is loyal but prioritizes the future of the kingdom.

2 The eastern and western border generals are the 2 most loyal soldiers of the Azeroth Kingdom. No matter who leads the kingdom, whether the king has good or evil qualities, they will support him as long as the king is King Azeroth chosen by the previous king and all important officials of the kingdom.

Therefore, they did not plan on recognizing any other kingdom except the Kingdom of Azeroth.

The best example is the Western Border General, Kelrun.

Although his position was now in Fargan City which was the westernmost city of Azeroth Kingdom where the entire surrounding area had supported King Diamant I, Kelrun still refused the invitation of King Diamant I.

Kelrun certainly understood the position he was in now was very bad, he was surrounded by loyal followers of the Diamant King from all sides while the support of the Azeroth Kingdom was too far away.

Despite the situation being so bad, Kelrun refused to give up. He continued to recognize the Kingdom of Azeroth and King Azeroth VI as kings, regardless of his present circumstances.

Surely King Diamant I would not be so foolish as to let anyone who refused to be loyal to him remain in the territory of his kingdom. While letting Kelrun return to Azeroth Kingdom? That's more unlikely.

As a border general, Kelrun's ability on the battlefield was not in doubt at all. Not to mention Kelrun had 100,000 elite troops with him, as long as Kelrun managed to reach the Kingdom of Azeroth, then King Azeroth VI would become even stronger.

Moreover, Kelrun is different from Herfu, Tarka or the eastern border general. Everyone in the kingdom knew Kelrun who had been a warrior training general in Azeroth Kingdom until it stopped about 10 years ago.

Even if it had stopped, Kelrun often trained soldiers as long as someone sought his help. Even among the forces of King Diamant I, there were many warriors who had once trained Kelrun.

Some of the soldiers of King Diamant I regarded Kellrun as their teacher, so King Diamant I should not let Kelrun live too long if Kelrun refused to be loyal.

If Kelrun called all the students he had trained, it was unknown how many troops, captains and other military leaders decided to come to their teacher's aid.

In addition, some of King Diamant I's troops might rebel for their teacher, Kelrun.

For that reason, before Kellrun was ready to put up a fight, King Diamant I had to kill him first.

Without a doubt, on the 10th day after the Diamant Kingdom was formed, King Diamant I began to gather warriors.

He gathered 200,000 elite soldiers who had been trained so far and an additional 100,000 troops who were a joint army of mayors or nobles who joined the Diamant Kingdom.

With 300,000 soldiers marching fast and besieging Fargan City, the Diamant King moved as quickly as possible before Kelrun had a chance to escape.

King Azeroth VI was certainly aware of the movements of King Diamant I, but he did not dare to move recklessly.

It was not that King Azeroth VI did not help Kellrun who was loyal to him, but rather the 1st prince began to make his move.

The War Duke located in the middle of the Azeroth Kingdom, quite close to the capital began to make some moves.

Although there had yet to be a real massive attack from the War Duke, King Azeroth VI did not dare to underestimate.

Although the number of troops sent by King Azeroth VI was only 200,000 troops, they were all elites among the most elite soldiers of the Kingdom of Azeroth.

Especially the 100,000 troops of the 2nd division, even the Diamant King does not necessarily have an army capable of fighting the 2nd division except using more numbers.

However the 2nd division was stronger than the 4th division which now joined the Myro Victory Force.

They had not fought since the 4th Division became the Victory Army, but for everyone, they considered the 2nd Division far above the Victory Army due to their past.

Therefore, the 2nd division along with 100,000 additional troops should be enough to stop it from defeating the War Duke.

But due to the actions of the Duke of Victory, King Azeroth VI could not provide assistance to General Kelrun at the western border.

The 1st and 3rd Divisions had not yet been moved, but King Azeroth prepared the 3rd division to always be on the border between his territory and the northern region of the kingdom where Myro was located. As long as Myro tried to make a surprise attack against Azeroth Kingdom, he had to pass through the 3rd division first.

On the other hand, the 1st division kept on moving to oversee all the actions of the 2nd prince. As long as there was something suspicious and sufficient evidence, the 1st Division could kill the 2nd prince without hesitation.

The forces of General Limo and General Rifu who brought the elite army of infantry and cavalry of the Kingdom of Azeroth to the border of the Kingdom of Diamant. 200,000 troops were not enough to attack the entire Diamant Kingdom even though they were all elite troops, therefore King Azeroth VI did not dare to assign Limo and Rifu to help Kelrun. When the Azeroth Kingdom's elite infantry and cavalry were completely destroyed, King Azeroth VI could be considered defeated, making him even more hesitant to risk Kelrun.

General Verlan remained in the capital, he had to prepare his army to keep King Azeroth VI in check.

After all the king's life and death were the most important, so the guard in the capital should not weaken, do not let the enemy get a chance to send assassins.

As all of his troops were being used, King Azeroth VI was unable to help Kelrun.

At least until the War Duke is defeated. As long as the War Duke lost, the 2nd and 100,000th divisions would be free.

If they joined forces with Limo and Rifu, they were able to attack the Diamant Kingdom using 400,000 elite troops.

With that much army, the new King Azeroth VI had the confidence to win against King Diamant I.

Therefore, if Kelrun managed to survive until the Duke of War was defeated, King Azeroth VI would definitely help him.

...----------------...

In Fargan City, the figure of a 1.9-meter tall man with a muscular body and sharp eyes stood on top of the city walls.

He wore black armor while observing the 300,000 warriors of the Diamant King who surrounded his city.

Suddenly a soldier approached the figure of the man "General Kelrun, no doubt, the Diamant King plans to kill us all if we refuse to surrender and join the Diamant Kingdom. What are we supposed to do?".

"Otherwise what to do?" said Kelrun without the slightest doubt on his face "As a general loyal to the Kingdom of Azeroth, I refuse to surrender to the Kingdom of Diamant even though its king was the 7th prince of the Kingdom of Azeroth in the past. If you are planning to surrender then you should give up, there is no need to try to persuade me to give up as well!".
