THE FIGHT TO BE KING
CHAPTER 7: THE TASK OF THE BARON
As the northernmost city of the Kingdom of Azeroth, of course, Aras City must always face the enemy in the north, namely the Cavalry Kingdom and the Orc-Goblin Kingdom.
The kingdom that most often attacks Aras City is Orc-Goblin, they send an army of goblins or orcs to seize territory or take food to get through the winter.
As for the Cavalry Kingdom, they did attack Aras City frequently as well, but less than the Orc-Goblin Kingdom.
As the name implies, the Cavalry Kingdom has a very strong cavalry army. As long as the troops in Aras City were directly facing off with the cavalry troops from the Cavalry Kingdom then they would definitely die. Fortunately there is a city wall that makes the cavalry troops do not function, therefore the City of Aras can still survive to this day.
The problem was how could there possibly be cavalry troops in this snowy area? After all it was very difficult to care for horses in this cold region, let alone horses needed pastures as their place of foraging for food. Then, why could the Cavalry Kingdom have such a strong cavalry army?
The answer is that the Cavalry Kingdom is a unique region in the North, although Aras City and the Orc-Goblin kingdom are always snowy, the Cavalry Kingdom often experiences summer. Even most of their territory was pasture, a very suitable place to care for horses.
If not for having a strong cavalry force, be it Baron Aras or the Orc-Goblin Kingdom would have tried to seize this territory because the Cavalry Kingdom was much better than their territory. But whoever tried to attack the Cavalry Kingdom, they must have been beaten back by the cavalry there.
Not to mention that the world is completely different from the earth, so the horses here are much more resistant to cold weather than the horses on earth.
"You're right, the Northern region of Azeroth Kingdom has always bordered the Orc-Goblin Kingdom and the Cavalry Kingdom" Baron Aras said as he pointed to the map beside him "But recently you must have known about the power struggle in the royal capital, the princes tried their best to have them elected the next king".
Myro nodded as he had indeed heard about the fight of these princes, but Baron Aras suddenly discussed this which made Myro feel even more bad premonition.
"Since you already know everything it is easier to explain" said Baron Aras "The 4th Prince plans to go to this northern province, his goal was none other than to seize the so-called Cavalry Kingdom as the most prosperous region in the north in order to show that he was the most suitable as the new king".
"The king also gave the prince permission by bringing in 4000 elite troops of the kingdom, but that was still not enough to seize the Cavalry Kingdom. Although the Cavalry Kingdom was only the size of a province in the Kingdom of Azeroth, it required at least 10,000 troops or more to capture the territory".
"Therefore, in order not to happen to the prince then every noble in the northern province must send at least 200 troops to help the prince to the 4th. The nobles in the northern provinces must also send their sons or their generals as the leader of the army, do you understand now Myro?".
Myro was not a fool, he already understood the meaning of Baron Aras saying "So, Baron Aras will send me as a representative of Baron Aras with 200 troops?".
"Right!", said Baron Aras "Luca is too young while Teira-".
Before Baron Aras could finish his words, Myro said coldly "It is too risky to send Teira, however he is so talented that if he dies in the war this time then it is very detrimental. This reason that made you decide to send me, the least talented child among the other children of Baron Aras, even if I die then Baron Aras will not suffer any loss. Am I right?".
The face of Ferbas who was behind the Baron became sad because it was the truth, while the face of the Baron still looked unconcerned "That's right, I'm doing this so that the Aras Baron family can continue to advance! You don't have to worry, I will prepare 200 of those troops, while your mother will also return to the Baron's palace again as long as you leave. Even if you die, I will still take care of your mother in the Baron's palace, how? You may not have any reason to help me, but you should do it to help your mother right? As long as you agree, tomorrow you can leave and I will have prepared an army for you!".

Now that there was only Baron Aras and Ferbas in the room, Ferbas asked doubtfully "Master, Myro says that he doesn't need an army-".
"Ferbas, prepare 200 troops for him!", said Baron Aras coldly "If Myro does not bring the troops as per the requirements, the 4th prince must blame myself as the Baron, if Myro does not bring the troops as per the requirements, the 4th prince must blame me as the Baron, as long as I don't send an army and just send my son to the king then my Baron's position must disappear!".
"Master, I understand. For these 200 troops then I think it is better to bring the troops of the 3rd army belonging to the city of Aras" said Ferbas explained "However these troops are quite trained but only in charge of guarding the city wall, but only in charge of guarding the city wall, losing 200 of them would not make the state of Aras City any worse".

"In addition, as long as they can win, everyone who participates can get prizes up to their own territory or noble title. But since this war against the Cavalry Kingdom was a trap for the 4th prince, then it was certain that the 4th prince would lose. Therefore, I must send the most useless child to die with the 4th prince, Teira or Luca is too talented so it is a great loss to send them on this death duty".
Ferbas' whole body trembled, he was angry and sad towards the Baron who did not even mind to let his son die.
Ferbas endured his anger and simply said without calling Baron master again "Baron, you have changed! If your young self used to be here, he would definitely not sacrifice his son like this".
Baron Aras had a stern face "Since my decades as a Baron then I realized, it is fine to sacrifice 1 or 2 children or soldiers, as long as my Baron Aras family can continue to advance! Myro was the most untalented child, his loss was in no way detrimental to the progress of Baron Aras".
Ferbas took his breath before saying again "Baron, may I retire after doing this task? I don't think I'm fit to work here anymore".
The baron stood up from his chair while walking away from this room "You can retire, you better go back to your village and farm. Ferbas, your kindness is not needed here!".
Baron Aras left this room, only leaving Ferbas still standing in his place in a daze.
