Arc 1 - The Rise of the Phoenix Swordsman Couple LTI 1 - The Eternal Gorge

A fiery night devoured the entire Shen Family that belonged to one of the five noble families in the Jia Empire.

A five-year-old boy cried when he saw his parents and his entire family were gone. The land that became a sea of blood and the sound of the cries of his family when pleading, made the young man five years old resolve to avenge the atrocities committed by a group of people.

“I'll finish! Just look at the person who will be the last to laugh is me! I will wipe them all out of this world!” The boy swore to himself. The sword in his heart is bound and shall sharpen.

“Kakak Yang..” The young man named Shen Lao cried, but his eyes were sharp when he remembered his older brother throwing himself into a ravine.

Shen Lao recalled the words of his older brother named Shen Yang. After all he had to survive in this cruel world.

Shen Lao closed his eyes in light of his brother being killed by the swordsman who attacked the Shen Family.

Currently Shen Lao did not expect himself to still survive due to a pact with the Spirit God. In his grief and fury, Shen Lao recalled carefully the people who finished off the Shen Family.

“If I have the power, you will be cut off from this world!” Shen Lao shouted with all his might as he felt that he was going to die. Even he was enjoying the pain that was destroying his entire body.

“Do you feel upset about not being able to do anything, boy?”

Vaguely Shen Lao saw the shadow of an old man talking to him.

“Never forget this feeling. Being weak is not bad, you have to remember this feeling well.” The old grandfather touched Shen Lao's head. His palm released flames and light that regenerated Shen Lao's bodily wounds.

“Bocah, swallow this Immortal God Pill. And never forget this feeling of your weakness.” The old grandfather inserted a golden-colored pill into Shen Lao's mouth.

Shen Lao's eyes were blurry before he finally fainted instantly. The intense pain all over his body did not quell his anger.

Shen Lao tried to move his body, slowly he was able to stand up but the pain within his body was still felt.

Shen Lao then heard the sound of footsteps, immediately he turned his head and saw an old grandfather who gave him the Eternal God Pill and healed his wound.

‘Who is this guy? If what Brother Yang said is true, then he is a God.’ Think Shen Lao. Then his arm was held by the old man.

“I am the Spirit of God. I woke up hearing screams from the bottom of your heart.” The old grandfather stared at Shen Lao long before telling the truth about the Eternal Gorge.

In the past, the Eternal Gorge was a place where the gods and goddesses fought against the Heretical God. That mighty war made the Eternal Gorge a different world from this world. You could say the Eternal Gorge was the dimension where the Spirit of the Gods lived.

“I am nothing more than a Spirit of God and Goddess. Since you have awakened me, it seems that I have to inherit all the knowledge of the Gods who have the desire to stop the plagues of this world to you.” The Spirit God flicked his finger. The instant Shen Lao screamed held his head that felt like it was exploding.

“If you want to be strong then learn the knowledge that is clearly illustrated in your mind.” The Spirit God looked at Shen Lao who was groaning in pain.

Before long Shen Lao clenched his hands tightly, “I will learn it. Thank you old man. I will survive and make everyone who belittles me bend their knees before me!”

Shen Lao stared intently at the smiling God Spirit hearing his words.

“This God Spirit Body will disappear. Sooner or later, you have to learn everything yourself. I leave all the treasures that are here to you.” After the Spirit God said so, instantly the fog around the Eternal Gorge disappeared.

Shen Lao's widened eyes saw the mountain's gold, even the crystals, diamonds and abundant wealth made Shen Lao's body suddenly limp.

“Drink Thousand Knowledge Pill. This will help you know the world.” The Spirit God gave the Thousand Knowledge Pill to Shen Lao. His body was like a glimmer of light that would disappear at any moment.

“Before leaving, receive the power of the Phoenix God.” The God Spirit turned into flames that circled Shen Lao's body.

“Grandpa?!” Shen Lao panicked, but after he swallowed the Thousand Knowledge Pill, in an instant he calmed down because inside his head came information one after another, ranging from martial worlds, resources and so on.

When the flames that circled around him entered his body, Shen Lao again thrashed in pain. At the moment Shen Lao felt intense pain, he was unceasingly struggling. But the smile and the look in his eyes, it looks very enjoying the pain that is happening to him.
