The Treaty of Invisibility

The Treaty of Invisibility
WIDOW

In the afternoon before the magrib, a young man in his 30s sat pensively on a river embankment. His eyes looked far away across the river that only saw grass weeds. Occasionally his hand threw pebbles as far as the middle of the river causing small ripples on the surface of the water.

Her lips sometimes singed a smile or more like a grin when she remembered the words and treatment Arin very hurtful to her. From the look of his eyes implied a very deep grudge considering the events beyond his estimation.

“Release Komar!” arin exclaimed trying to release the grip on his hand that carried a bag of vegetable grocery crackles.

“Ayolah Rin, just a moment..” said Komar sulking.

“Apaan anyway! Let go or I scream?!” arin's jolt furiously shook his hand violently.

“Just play to my house, come on..” Komar continues to seduce Arin while continuing to resist Arin's rebellious efforts trying to release the grip on her hand.

“Najis! Not want! Cheih..” Arin could not help his frustration until at the height of his anger he spat at Komar.

The young man was flabbergasted not expecting Arin to spit at him. Komar spontaneously groped his face that was spat on by Arin then his claws on Arin's arm loose. His face was red and his self-esteem was in revolt, his eyes were increasingly agitated looking at Arin who quickly stepped away leaving him.

"Review you Rin! I'll make you whine at the kamin, hahahaha." cried Komar loudly. His voice echoed around the quiet river embankment.

The status of the young widow who bears Arin is very tempting Komar, a young man from one village and his elementary school friends. Komar intensely tries to get close to Arin after learning of her status as a widow after Kosim's death. Arin's appearance is still young and beautiful began to be glimpsed by the men around his village and in the village kakanya, Sukadami.

One of them is Komar who does not want to lose to compete with other young people but unfortunately the way the approach made by Komar does not make sympathetic Arin. His love for Arin was only encouraged by the sentence “JANDA” so that the effort he made was not from the heart but only the appreciation of his lust. As a result, the boro-boro made Arin put his heart, the young widow with one child was even frightened.

Tonight coincides with the Friday night of Kliwon, the air feels moist and sultry. In the living room of Mahmud's house, Abah Dul looks very agitated. He occasionally flips newspapers into his body.

"It's really hot tonight Mud" said Abah Dul, shaking the newspaper in his hand.

"Yes, Bah, it was 12 p.m. Not usually," said Mahmud.

"Yes, I've come home to Mud, anyways the matabya is heavy. Very sleepy," said Abah Dul.

"Yes, Bah." said Mahmud.

After 12 pm passing a little Abah Dul also say goodbye to Mahmud because it is not strong to hold his sleepiness and feel uncomfortable because of anger. After delivering Abah Dul to the terrace, Mahmud immediately entered and locked the door. Then Mahmud stepped towards his room, but as he passed in front of Arin's room he suddenly stopped his steps. The look on Mahmud's face was astonished, and he heard a faint voice like Arin speaking.

Mahmud put his ear to the door of Arin's room, and sharpened his hearing. His face grew even more astonished with question marks in his heart.

"Who is she talking to? Or is he just delirious?" murmured Mahmud in heart.

Mahmud was curious, then he looked for a gap to peek into the room to find out what was in the room. For a moment he checked the window of the room but there was no gap, then he looked up to see the gap in the wind above the window. Mahmud rushed to take a plastic chair in the living room to look into the room from the crack. Slowly Mahmud climbed up onto the plastic chair, he began to look into the room but Arin's figure could not be seen because his perspective was limited.

"Mas Komaaaar... I missuuu... I want to meet the maaaas.." Arin's voice, the lyre was heard again from inside the room.

Mahmud was curious, then he got down from the chair and went back to look for a gap to see what was happening in Arin's room. Mahmud was silent at the door, hesitating whether to open the door or to look at it first. That was when his eyes accidentally saw a keyhole on the door.

“Mas Komar... Mas Komaaar..” a soft voice from inside the room made Mahmud rush to peek at him from the keyhole.

Mahmud notched his body a little, with one eye Mahmud began to see the atmosphere in the room. In the room, Arin appears to be sitting on the lips of the cot with his face looking up slightly. His gaze stared blankly, his hands moving waving along with his voice that continued to rumble as if he was calling someone. Suddenly the look on Mahmud's face was stunned at the behavior of his unnatural sister-in-law. Mahmud peeked at him, stunned for a moment standing at the door of the room. Mahmud was confused as to what to do.

“What a wakein Dewi aja yes. If you tell Abah Dul, it's not good maybe he's asleep,” Mahmud murmured in his heart.

Mahmud decides to wake his wife to open the door to Arin's room. If he who opens directly worried will cause slander if there is a commotion inside. When Mahmud was about to touch the door of the room, suddenly a voice was heard clearly near his ear.

“Mas Mahmud, Arin in danger.”.

Mahmud spontaneously turned to the right where the voice sounded like it was very close. But his eyes found no one. Mahmud looked to his left but found no one. When Mahmud was stunned as he realized, he remembered that the voice was familiar to his ears.

“That voice is like the sound of Kosim..”.

Mahmud was increasingly convinced that the voice was coming from Kosim, considering that a few nights earlier Kosim had also appeared while sitting alone on the front porch. Even though Kosim was silent at the time.

“Capitalize Arin Mas..” say that invisible voice again.

“Wi, wi... wake up,” said Mahmud slowly while shaking his wife's body.

“Mmmmhh... Mas,” said Dewi a moment ago and changed his position tilted back to Mahmud who stood on the edge of the couch.

“Wi... wake up...” said Mahmud louder while continuing to arouse the body of the Goddess with a feeling of anxiety because the Goddess returned to sleep.

“Mmhhh... What's wrong mas?” sahut Dewi lazy with eyes still closed.

“Arin Wi, Arin..” whispered Mahmud emphasizing his tone.

The goddess immediately jumped to sit as Mahmud said about Arin.

“Arin? What happened to Arin Mas?” said Dewi while fixing her hair and then lock it.

“Come!” exclaims Mahmud holding the arm of the Goddess invites him out.

The Goddess complied as Mahmud pulled his hand towards Arin's room next to his.

“Try you peep from this keyhole Wi,” said Mahmud so up to the door of Arin's room.

With a face full of question marks do not understand the meaning of her husband Dewi just obey. The goddess bent her body and with one eye she began to see him in the room through the keyhole.

“Astagfirullah al’azim!” screeched the Goddess after seeing the same scene as what Mahmud saw.

Instantly, the goddess grabbed Arin's door and opened it.

Kreooott...

Dewi was flabbergasted to find her sister was rumbling and flailing by mentioning the name of someone behind Dede who was asleep. The Goddess immediately hugged Arin but Arin revolted trying to push the body of the Goddess.

“Tracking letter Al Falaq Mas then blow on the crown of Arin, fast!” a voice with no appearance was heard near Mahmud's ear.

Without a second thought Mahmud immediately did as suggested by the sound without likeness. Mahmud slowly read Al Falaq's letter, after finishing reading the short verse Mahmud approached behind Arin up on the mattress and blew it on the crown of Arin who was thrashing in the presence of Dewi. Shortly after Mahmud blew the verses of the Quran in the crown, Arin Langdung's body glazed lunglai in the arms of the Goddess.

The two eyes of the Goddess glazed over her sister's body tightly. Various question marks filled his head.

“Why with Arin mas?” ask the Goddess in a soft voice.

“I don't know Wi,” said Mahmud sitting on a mattress.

The goddess then broke down Arin's unconscious body with her eyes closed. Dewi stared at her sister's face, her tears began to flow down her cheeks.

“Sprinkle water all over his body which is read by letter Alfatihah, mas..”.

Mahmud gasped for a moment as the voice came back very close to his ear. He rushed out of the room to get some water. Soon, Mahmud returned to his room with a large glass of water. Then Mahmud chanted Alfatihah's letter with hidmat, after he finished blowing it on the water in the glass. Then Mahmud poured the water into his palm little by little and squinted it into Arin's body from head to toe.

“Matur suwun Mas..” said voice without likeness back heard in Mahmud's ear.

Mahmud turned back to look right and left looking for the source of the sound but not the imprinted.

“What's the Mas?” dewi asked astonished to see Mahmud as if he was looking for something.

“I heard the Wi sound, you heard?” Mahmud.

“Votes? I didn't hear anything Mas,” timpal Dewi.

“The voice is similar to the sound of Kosim,” Mahmud said.
