The Treaty of Invisibility
ARIN CHEST DISBARAN

7 Days after Dede's death, the atmosphere of Mahmud's family life slowly seems to have begun to return to normal. As usual before 7.00 pm Mahmud went farming to work on his chili garden and his wife, Dewi went to work at a motorcycle dealer on the edge of the highway which is still located in his village. While Arin does the routine of taking care of Mahmud's house.

As soon as Mahmud and Dewi left, Arin swept the yard of the house that looked dirty by many scattered leaves and pistils of water guava and mango leaves.

“Paraboot... paraboot... paraboot....” shouted a traveling salesman.

Arin stopped his sweeping activity and stood up, he darted looking for the source of the voice of the saboteur. He remembered that the frying pan at his sister's house was outdated and intended to buy it.

“Paraboot... paraboot...” terdenfar shouted the seller of household furniture again.

Arin darted looking but never found the seller. But soon after emerged a man from the side of the house with a variety of household tools.

“Kang... here kang!” arin called out.

The man who sells household furniture for a moment turned his head and smiled when he saw someone calling him, he walked quickly to where Arin was standing.

Arin's attention was on the goods in both baskets that the man carried without caring about the merchant. After arriving at Arin's place, the merchant lowered the basket he was carrying. He rubbed his face with a small towel draped around his neck.

“Let's what's bu..?” asked the merchant was friendly with his thick Sundanese accent.

“There is no fryer?” asked Arin while stirring up various kinds of furniture.

“Fryer? Wah happened to be today I did not bring ma'am,” said the trader.

“Yaaaahhh..” muttered Arin disappointed while turning to see his merchant.

Instantly Arin's heart thumped, his chest thumped when he saw the face of the household furniture merchant. His eyes did not blink, his lips gaped at the merchant man before him.

“Mas Kosim...” muttered Arin involuntarily.

Arin's murmur was apparently heard by the merchant man who seemed to be fixing the pile of his merchandise in the other basket. But not so clearly heard.

“Why bu?” ask the merchant.

Arin gasped at the merchant's face, which resembled that of her late husband. It seems to be the same age, about 30 years old. It's just what sets it apart on its skin color. If Kosim skin brown brown brown brown mature but this merchant man has a yellow skin.

“Bu... mother why?! How to talk?!” the trader again.

“Eh, anu... no, it's okay,” replied Arin stuttered then diverted his attention to the goods in the singel again.

“Tomorrow again yes ma'am, I bawain,” said trader.

“Oh, i, yes kang. Yes I have bought this one aja kang,” said Arin pointed to a place of rice.

“Mango, mango.. that one week is five thousand yes bu, so eight weeks,” said the trader.

“Oh, kang credit?” Arin was a little surprised.

“Muhun,” the answer is short.

“What's the container?” Ask Arin.

“Oh, pay cash, thirty thousand bu, hehehe..” replied the merchant laughed knot.

“Ya already, a minute yes kang I take the money first. Sit first kang,” said Arin then stepped into the house.

The young grocer sat on the lip of the front porch of the house while fanning his hat onto his slightly sweaty face.

“Beautiful is also this mother, hikhik..” murmured inwardly revealing a smile on her lips.

Soon Arin again walked out of the side terrace unnoticed by the young furniture dealer who was daydreaming of him.

“This is kang..” said Arin.

But the young man did not respond, he continued to fan his hat while looking up at the water guava tree.

“Kang..!” arin said slightly raising his voice.

“Eh, i, yes ma'am..” the merchant stuttered in shock at seeing Arin already beside him.

Arin held out a 50-thousand note with a little gerogi. The merchant youth accepted it awkwardly. His hands seemed to tremble when he received the money.

“Turn twenty thousand ya bu,” muttered the young man trying to cover his nervousness.

The soft thumping inside his chest grew bigger when he was close to Arin. The feeling suddenly came by itself just flowing without being able to stem the feeling of joy. But the young man tried to suppress his feelings when he remembered the young mother in front of him who he thought was married.

The young man held out a 20 thousand note to Arin with a soft shaking hand, “I, this is the change bu,”, he said.

“I, iy, yes kang,” Arin was just as awkward and stiff attitude to accept the change.

"House was quiet ma'am, her husband had gone to work yes," said the young man sniffed a description.

"I don't have a husband anymore" replied Arin slightly hiding Kosim's death.

The eyes of the furniture merchant youth were slightly sparkling at Arin's reply. His maleness instinct says that the young mother seems to give a red light.

"Oh, yes, I've been around again ma'am." said the young man then left.

But Arin did not respond, it seems that Arin was immersed in his own mind so as not to hear the young man's words.

A few moments Arin was dumbfounded, then jolted by the sound of cock crow rooster around him as well as resuscitate his daydream. Arin quickly turned to the place where the furniture merchant had been, but it was not in place. Arin darted looking for him and it turned out that the merchant youth whose face was similar to Kosim had gone a long way.

Arin went back to his job. But his mind was filled with the shadow of the furniture merchant's face that continued to play around in his eyes. Without realizing it Arin's face turned beaming series while continuing to sweep the page.

After performing the congregational Isya prayer, Arin quickly went to the kitchen to prepare dinner for his brother and sister-in-law who were still praying.

Some time later, Mahmud and Dewi came out of the prayer room and appeared in the middle room with a slight frown. The two looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders in astonishment.

"Trararara.. Dinner is ready" cried Arin sumringah.

"You look different tonight Rin" said Dewi.

"What's different about mbak?" said Arin with lips turned a smile.

"Yes, Rin, you look cheerful. But I did squirm it. Not rich yesterday, not just yesterday," said Mahmud.

Arin took the rice on the plate for Mahmud and Dewi with a smile that kept on leaning on his lips.

"Come, eat. eat.." said Arin while taking a side dish of fried gourami.

Mahmud and Dewi gawked at Arin's different behavior 180 drajat than usual. Then the husband and wife also took a side dish full of question marks in their hearts.
